Akaya came out of the post-Flight fuzzy glow back into reality slowly, reluctant to leave the warm drowsy state of contentment she found herself in. However, she was somewhat quicker to consciousness when she realized she was snuggled into the crook of someone's arm, and she scrambled to sit up, all too aware suddenly of how she was quite lacking in clothing.

Her memories of the last while since Sleeth had launched herself into the air came back as well, and Akaya burned a brighter red. Bodies twined together--sweat and moans and--oh, my. Oh my.

At least it wasn't a total stranger, she thought, glancing over quickly to S'kor and hoping he wasn't quite aware yet. And he was rather good looking... And Scarath was a very nice bronze...

Very nice! Sleeth reported cheerfully, happily snuggled up against the much larger bronze. She thought things had gone very well, and wouldn't Akaya admit now it had all been a lot of fuss over nothing? It had even been enjoyable for them both!

Akaya winced at Sleeth's smugness. Well, it hadn't been awful, but...it was still very embarrassing!

The first thing the rider became away of was his own afterglow, and the second was that of his dragon's. S'kor felt someone snuggled up against him comfortably. His mind slowly brought back the memories from the night. The green going proddy, and his Scarath giving chase to eventually and unexpectedly catch her.

He thought he'd preformed well under the circumstances, so he was reluctant to release the body of the other rider when she struggled upright. Pushing past his own feelings, S'kor let her up. He shifted slightly so that when he opened his eyes he could look at her.

It was Akaya. She wasn't a rider he knew well. "Akaya?" S'kor asked softly. He wasn't exactly sure how she'd take this.

Scarath rumbled contentedly as he lightly had a wing draped over green Sleeth. It had been a good first flight for him. Wordlessly he reassured his rider.

Be nice, Akayamine! Sleeth interjected quickly before the girl could respond to S'kor's questioning tone. Scarath, tell Yours that Akayamine is silly so he should not be offended if she is rude. She means well, really!

I can still hear you Sleeth, Akaya thought pointedly at her meddling green, shaking her head lightly. She reached to tuck a strand of brown hair back behind an ear absently, before managing to glance back S'kor's way, offering a tentative smile to the bronzerider. "Um. Thank you...? I'm sorry, I really don't know the etiquette of this kind of thing," she admitted, hands clasped tight around a blanket pulled around to cover her. "I--um, it was my first time, even without the Flight bit, so..." So what? I hope it wasn't horrible? See you next Flight, maybe, if your dragon wins that one too? Honestly, what did you say to someone?

He will not, the bronze replied confidently. However, he still relayed the comment back to His. Mine, Sleeth says not to be offended if Her's is rude. She is silly.'

S'kor gave her a smile. She wasn't going to try biting his head off so all was well. Able to relax now, he put a hand behind his head and offered out his arm. Inviting her to snuggle back up if she wanted.

"You're welcome," he responded automatically and politely. S'kor was slightly amused at the situation, but didn't want her to take it the wrong way. He kept his laugh internal. "It's alright Akaya. My first time too so I've no idea of etiquette here. How about we just enjoy each others company and forgo etiquette?"

He smiled again. "I came from a trader caravan, so Weyr norm is unusual for me. I hope I preformed well for you." S'kor wondered what she thought. For being her first time, she's handling it remarkably calmly. I think I could handle a little rudeness. He responded to his amused bronze.

Little did S'kor know of the tears and edginess that had preceded everything--really, Akaya was just glad it was all over with, and hadn't the energy to throw fits. Nor did she really feel inclined to do anything really silly like get angry at S'kor--he'd been in dragon-thrall just as much as she had!

"I know--er, I mean, I remember your Impression. And your sister's. At least I came to the weyr knowing the risks!" Akaya said, good-naturedly teasing, as she briefly struggled whether or not to resume snuggling. It had been very nice, but was that too...brazen? Sleeth told her she was being silly again and should just do what she wanted, because it wasn't like anyone else was watching anyway. The green did have a point...

Still, there was a certain guilty furtiveness to Akaya's movements as she risked resuming snuggling back up with S'kor. Old Hold habits and internal tapes were hard to break. "Harper Hall for me, and before that Eron Hold," she offered, flushing once more at the mention of "performance." She was hardly a judge of such things... "I miss the Hall, sometimes, but Sleeth's a better duet partner than any I had as a Harper 'prentice. What did you do, in the trading caravan? I've always meant to ask you and your sister about it." She could do this, making conversation...granted, she really hadn't thought she'd be asking him naked and in bed, but, well...

That was Weyrlife for you, she supposed.

S'kor laughed softly and flushed a little on the cheeks and down his neck. "Yeah, it was pretty funny watching him walk through the stands wasn't it?" You knew how to make an Impression didn't you? Well you were up there and I was down there. So I went to you. "Yup, you got us there. It was rather unplanned. Still, I wouldn't exchange him for anything." He smiled, sharing the moment with Akaya.

When she gave in and cuddled back up against him there was a sense of elation. He hadn't wanted to pressure her into anything non-dragon produced anyhow, so his pride was still there. It had been a hard year for him, waiting for Scarath to grow and mature yet not being able to have any bedmates.

A strong arm lightly curled around her shoulders to make her comfortable. "I know that Hold. We'd stop there on our route. Good Hold. Me? Oh, I was a Journeyman Spice Trader. My specialty is spices. Optheli was an apprentice, but she wasn't really good at it. You know what I mean? She'd take care of chores and cook and keep everyone cheerful."

"I know what you mean. About missing it, I mean. Sometimes I miss traveling with the caravan, but Scarath can get me there so much faster now." He chuckled deeply, "I think I've heard you two around the Weyr now and then. Pretty interesting to listen to."

He was fairly comfortable. Before become a dragonrider, he'd had numerous encounters of the feminine kind. Some were bed talkers and some weren't.

"One had to wonder if maybe Trine was better off removing the barriers between crowd and sands, with so many of you Impressing from the Stands," Akaya said, managing a grin (and a vague rhyme to boot). She tilted her head slightly as she listened to S'kor, putting the new information together with the bits and pieces she'd learned simply over a Turn of being in the same weyrling group as him and lightly nodding along. "Spices, huh? Guess it's clear why a certain bronzeish food connoisseur decided to risk the retaining walls." She smiled ruefully at his description of Optheli's duties. "That was me, really, pre-Harper Hall. My parents are in the Beastcraft, you see, and I did my best to tend ovines, but I always got a little distracted on my pipes when I was supposed to be watching the flocks." Though she'd mastered many a Teaching Ballad off on her own, with little company besides the sheep...well, and sometimes a brother or two. Though she couldn't really imagine any of her sibs Impressing--it must be very unusual even for the Weyr to have two Impress in the same clutch, even.

"Yes, dragon-travel is pretty hard to beat for speed and ease of travel," Akaya agreed, shifting slightly as she draped an arm fully across S'kor's bare chest, eyeing the contrast between his olive-toned skin and her own ruddier peach with an abstract curiosity. "And I imagine you have. We're going to have a dragonchoir--someday. Somehow. We're very determined to see it happen."

You and Yours should join, Sleeth murmured sleepily from under Scarath's wing, ever the recruiter. It will be fun.

S'kor chuckled deeply. "Indeed that. Or perhaps make a dragon ramp for easy access. Course as I recall, a couple jumped from the stands onto the sands. Might be wise for that too." He was slightly amused that one had been his sister. Still, he couldn't blame her. If Scarath had called for him to come down, he might have jumped too.

"Who else to cook for him? It rather infuriates the cooks when he samples their wares." He was rather pleased that his dragon took an interest in his cooking specifically and food in general. It hadn't seemed to harm the bronze in any way.

"As far as I could tell, she liked doing it. She's the kind of person who is happy making other people happy. Rather confident and encouraging. She likes to take care of others." He gave her a reassuring squeeze around the shoulders. "Beastcraft hu? Well I think you've got something better to tend now than ovines." He was referring to Sleeth.

"Mmmmm, I wonder if the cold of between affects spices somehow." He pondered the idea. The faint thought of becoming a dragonrider spice trader danced in his head. Instant spice delivery. What his dad, or the caravan master!, wouldn't pay for that. It had its attraction. And he could easily get the rarer spices.

"A dragonchoir? You mean like a what harper's put on, except with dragons?" S'kor thought about 5-10 dragons "singing" together. "That would be unique, and you could travel to any Gather so easily. I think you'll be in high demand."

Scarath curled his head around from where it was laying to watch Sleeth with an eye. I am not sure I can sing. It would be enough for me to watch you preform. Sensing his rider's thoughts, the bronze seconded the idea. It would be easy to carry a lot of spices and they were light. Plus he would love to taste far away spices.

"Sleeth's about as silly as the sheep I used to tend sometimes," Akaya said with a smile, privately rather liking the reassuring squeeze. "But you should experiment, and find out if it does affect the spices. If I have time for dragonsinging, I am sure you could manage to further your spice trading efforts with Scarath's help," she added, encouraging. "If we let our lives revolve entirely on wing drills and searching for Mystweed, I think we'd all go a bit mad."

"And yes, just like a regular Harper choir," Akaya confirmed, warming to her subject. "In fact, the dragon one'd need human voices as well--you need the riders to remember the arrangements, on account of draconic memory. As long as I can get a few participants of varying colors to account for the different parts: bass, tenor, alto, soprano..." She broke off with a little chuckle and a rueful smile. "I'm sorry; you probably don't care. I'll go on for a long time if you don't stop me."

You never know until you try! Sleeth said, with a noise that sounded suspiciously like a chortle. But I would like for you to watch the choir too. And to watch me! The green seemed very amused by Scarath's specificness on the matter.

"Oh? How is that? I have no experience with sheep. I've heard horses are smarter than them, and dragons are clearly smarter than horses." His finger lightly stroked her hair as he talked. "Most certainly. I'll speak to the caravan master next time they come the Weyr. Wouldn't want to step on their toes you know. But I think they would be grateful of trade for rare northern spices. That'd earn a tidy income."

He grinned, "I do believe you're right there. Drills and Mystweed hunting would lead for a pretty dull life."

S'kor nodded when she made her points. She had certainly done her homework! "The riders could sit behind the dragons with the papers with arrangements on them. That way they wouldn't have to memorize them too. Do dragons come in soprano?" He sounded amused.

His own Scarath was that brassy deep tone of the large males, so was he a tenor? Probably bass, he thought. So what would be a soprano? A green or gold maybe? "No, I don't mind. It's fairly interesting and you've thought it well through."

Scarath blinked slowly. Perhaps I will try one time. The bronze rumbled, Of course the choir too. He didn't want Sleeth think he'd ignore the others.
