It was the evening by the time Ainsley had got home from her exploration of the shopping outlet and she was very excited to be back. Why was she so excited? She had brought home one of those snow globes from Imperium Greetings! Everyone had one, and with good reason! They were absolutely gorgeous orbs with a figure trapped inside of it that practically stole your very breath that played a mysterious melody that seemed to have a magical characteristic to it.
She carefully took it upstairs with her, and carried it up to her bed. After her and the box that snow globe came in were safety at the top of the bed, which was off the ground and required a latter to get up onto, she slowly and carefully took the snow globe out of the box. She had a rather serious expression on her face as she set it down on her pillow between her white plush bunny Octavian Oswald and her decorative bunny shaped pillow she had dubbed Night Knight.
Although her pillow was a bunny in shape, as a pillow it was placed as a knight and not a prince by Ainsley's standards. Instead of a princely name following the double initial pattern, it was dubbed after the night because of its night related properties and given the surname knight as a status. It is the bunny that guards her night and keeps her safe while she dreams her dreams.
Gently reassuring herself that her snow globe was safe and not going to fall over the small child flopped over beside it and looked up to make sure the snow globe was fine. Perfect! It sat still, and didn't wobble even when she laid beside it. Between the snow globe and her bunnies, she found herself staring at the snow globe. The alluring beauty of it and the wonderfully chilling lullaby that the snow globe distracting her from the rest of the world. She found herself having a conversation with the snow globe, listening intently as if she expected to hear a reply from the orb. Although no reply came, the child seemed to be determined to talk to it as the music played on and on. She told stories of how a prince would rescue her one day and save her from all the dangers she may face. The snow globe never replied, but there was something calming about the song it played and the beautiful figure that seemed almost trapped inside of it.
She spoke and spoke some more with the snow globe until hours had past, until it was late into the evening. It was way past the child's bed time and slowly but surely her words started to become mumbled between the notes of the melody and as each past she begun to drift into a deep sleep.
She didn't know if it was her new protector Night Knight or the soothing melody that the snow globe produced but she didn't wake up once throughout the night. She slept soundly, dreaming her dreams. Her dreams were different though this night. Although she still was a princess in a tall tower, dazing out of the single window in the tower, there was a magical feel to it. A soothing voice in the distance that was not of her prince. The small princess didn't think much otherwise as the dream continued, waiting her days out with dreams of her prince saving her.
He prince never came to save her though, and Ainsley continued to wait in that tower of her dreams. She was alone with only a single music box beside her that seemed to play that very melody from the snow globe that she had on her pillow in reality. It was eerie and relaxing and eventually a voice could be heard in the distance of her dream... or at least she thought it was her dream. With the sound of the voice saying "I'll be there soon..." from her tower, Ainsley could see the figure of a woman coming nearer and nearer but never got close enough. She seemed to stay far away, as if she was trapped and could not get to the tower but she continued to say, "I'll be there soon..." over and over until the child woke up from her dreams.
Ainsley didn't know what to think, but she immediately expected to see someone there. No one was there though and as the child slowly tried to adjusted to being awake once again. She thought she could hear it. She thought she could hear the sound of the melody from the snow globe that had stopped playing hours ago. The sound of the melody that infested her dream world. The sound of the beautiful woman saying, "I'll be there soon..."
