No matter how long she had known this was coming for, Akaya still didn't feel prepared. Sleeth's behavior of recent had been absolutely blatant in the last day or so, and if nothing else the greenrider was at least looking forward to getting her friendly, not-always-flirty mindmate back once this whole Flight business was over with. She'd even taken to flirting with the blacks! And that silver...argh! Well, at least Sleeth was enjoying herself...
That was really the only comfort Akaya had, waiting on edge for Sleeth to decide it was time. She'd had enough warning to speak to others in an effort to prepare, but there was still a sinking feeling in the pit of Akaya's stomach as Sleeth's eyes had begun to whirl purple and the green's hide reached its luminescent peak.

Go! the girl thought furiously, steeling herself for the inevitable as she sought to lose herself in Sleeth's mind. It was the only way she'd get through this...
The young striped green blooded her kill eagerly, trying to show Hers through her cheerful confidence that everything would be fine, they would Fly, and it would be wonderful! It was a cheerful challenge that rang out to the males of Trine Weyr--Sleeth was ready, and they better be too!

G'brel was, to say the least, amused. Not at Akaya's plight-- the poor girl didn't seem to be taking to this Flight thing well at all-- but rather at her own blue's behavior. Sleeth had been overly flirtatious for a good while now, and though he would never admit it, Lifth rather seemed to enjoy it. Although as far as the rest world was concerned, he only barely tolerated the green. Now, however, Sleeth was closer and closer to rising, and Lifth was very subtly keeping a close eye on her. He would be ready when she was.
I think someone likes a certain 'annoying green' more than he cares to admit, G'brel said teasingly through the bond. Her blue was increasingly on edge.
Hush, Lifth replied absently, only barely paying attention to his rider's teasing. as Sleeth leapt onto her first kill, however, the blue couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement well up inside of him. She Rises!
Lifth answered her challenging call with one of his own and was the first to take off into the air after Sleeth. She would be his.

D'lin was not especially surprised when Plexith reacted to the green's ever glowing hide, she was a green true..but Plexith was young and his blood was hot. It wa not unheard of for a bronze to give chase and Plexith in any case wasn't going to listen to his riders thoughts on matters such as this.
D'lin could only wait for the outcome as Plexith answered the green's challenge with a bugle of his own and launched himself after her in a thunder of wings

S'kor was caught slightly off guard as a proddy green's challenge rang out over the Weyr. He felt Scarath's desire to give chase and mentally nudged the dragon.
Scarath felt His' accent and answered the green with a brassy bugle. He would chase! The bronze left his wallow to wait by the feeding grounds; his eyes whirled steadily on the green. When she leaped for the sky, he follow though no where close to being first.

Pipith was absolutely delighted to see one of Trine's greens Rise, and more than happy to give chase. Roaring in response to her challenge, the small bronze leaped into the air and took off in pursuit, leaving his rider to sigh, resigned. Set'al never had any choice in whether or not his dragon gave chase - he could only hope that whatever green was Rising had a female rider. That was at least a little better.

This young green, flirting around now for so long. So many more of them yet to rise for the first time, but for now his eyes were on her. Purple, but blended still with orange. Did she think she would escape him? Did those males think they were better than he? They were wrong, all wrong; she would be his prize this day! Bellowing a challenge, Opeth sprung into the air and shot after the glowing green.

She’s blooding.
What?
Sleeth, Lerath was already pumping into the air and taking a high-arching route to the feeding grounds. His wings made dark blue swathes against the lighter sky, and heralded his landing with a soft booming noise at a rock that overlooked the feeding grounds.
V’al had thought him not interested in Sleeth’s recent flirty behavior, but he’d been interested alright, and now he rumbled to the air, and fell silent as she cried out challenge. He gave no sound, saving his breath for the air, and launched with the other males, trying to find a space to maneuver into. There were more bronzes than he’d expected, and their sail-like wings would be trouble to avoid.

Sleeth was tickled as she chanced a glance at the train of males behind her, so many, and all of them intent on showing off, just for her! There were two starting to pull forward of the rest--both familiar to her, Plexith and Lifth. She offered them in particular a little trill of teasing as she climbed further, draconically giggling along the way. The air felt good, and they were flying well!

He had never quite understood before why the older dragons seemed to enjoy Flights so much, but now as he himself chased after the shining green he was beginning to understand. Somewhat. He still didn't fully know why he felt the way that he did, but the wings, heart, and blood pumping as well as the desire rising within him were all quite nice. he wasn't about to settle for just this though if it could be helped, and he stayed as hot on her trail as was dragonly possible.
You go get her, Lifth, G'brel thought to her partner, standing near to Akaya before letting her mind fly up with him-- just in case. This was their first flight too after all, be it successful or not.

Lerath’s eyes glowed, and he was dimly aware of His stumbling out to the grounds to watch the staring of the flight. V’al offered no protest this time as he had at other flights. They both knew it would do little good. V’al, of course, did not approve, but more important than sentiment was the cheery taunts of the green, and investigating what that everything would be like, if he could just… catch her.
His curious wonderings cost him jockeying position, and Lerath found himself pushed to the outer edge of the trail of blues, browns, and bronzes.

Such a teasing little thing this green! And her temper was quite nice, she was far more pleasant about this whole thing then some of the ill tempers he'd heard of others in flight. All in all the effect made her far more desirable to the bronze and he swerved to try and cut off those who might be behind him while trilling sweetly to the green ahead.
D'lin meanwhile had long since been lost to his dragons desires and could little more then urge him on.

Pipith was surprised - and very displeased - to see two other bronzes in the air for a green Flight. Blues were a given, of course, and easily dismissed as competition in his mind. But though he was a small bronze, he was still a bronze, and could be a little slow to start. For now, he trailed behind the others.
