[PRP] Being Enlightened By The World (Kourin Chou x Tempest)

Kourin Chou was attempting to enjoy her time apart from her parents, an experience she was more than reluctant to accept at first. Her mother thought it would be a good idea for her daughter to experience the world outside of the family; Kourin didn't agree one bit. The normally quiet, sweet and reserved mare had put up quite a bit of water works before reluctantly conceding and going out into the big wide world.

It was frightening to her at first. She had traveled plenty of land with her family, but never on her own, never so vulnerable as she had been now. She was only comforted by the fact that most of the creature she passed by were either like her or much smaller than her. If they had been bigger she wasn't sure how she'd react and she hoped she was never in such a situation.

Kourin watched curiously as some fish gathered around her shadow as she peered into a stream, contemplating a drink. The fish were so cute, even if they looked a little bland in her eyes. Sometimes Kourin wished to swim, but the thought of crossing a river or going into water that reached her tummy made her nervous. Instead she pleasantly took in the sight of the fish, her tail swaying back and forth slightly as she watched them.

"Such funny little creatures," She mused with a smile.

He was unaccompanied this afternoon, an odd occurance by all means. Generally, the stallion was not without the company of his sister or his familiar. This afternoon was to be an exception as both had business elsewhere - Azimene (his beloved sister) had an appointment with their uncle in relation to her health care and his familiar... Well, he had dismissed his familiar in the only way he knew how. He had spun an elaborate tale of betrayal and intrigue to such an extent as the excitable hummingbird had shot off, determined to solve the mystery. It had been a genius move on his part and he had performed admirably; he was entitled to a moment of relaxation as a reward.

Granted a moment of solitude, Tempest had taken it upon himself to explore beyond his immediate base. Now that he had selected a suitable location for his 'headquarters' he had deemed it time to investigate what lay beyond its immediate reaches. In short, Tempest had embarked on a somewhat mundane adventure to discover where all his closest resources were. After all, while his headquarters was comfortable and very pretty, it was useless without a reliable source of food and water.

This in mind, the stallion pressed on through the grasses, making quick work of the long strands that lay before him. A naturally tall creature, he cut through the blades with ease and scarcely needed to pause to untangle his tightly woven braids in the rare moments that they became caught by whatever plants lay unseen at his hooves. All things considered he was making reasonable progress and he only hesitated a step here or there whenever a decision was required.

Which direction did he take?

Had he heard anything of importance?

It should have come as no surprise that his ears swivelled, flicked, twitched and remained in constant motion as he wandered.

Eventually, he did detect the faint sound of rushing water and as any intelligent creature did, he followed the sound. With Divinity silent, he was unprepared for the encounter that lay before him and came to a rather abrupt halt as Kourin fell into his gaze. A mild surprise to be sure for it was rare that Divinity failed to inform him of the existence of another soquili, particularly at such close quarters...
