It was about time. Mau was thankful that he was finally being released from the Med-ward today. The chest tube had been taken out, and in it's place, he had a few stitches covered by a gauze patch. He had hospital scrubs draped over his shoulders, hiding the majority of the bandages that wound about his shoulders, and covered the scrapes and cuts on his back. He had sent Mai ahead with the various things he'd acquired over the last 2 weeks to keep himself occupied when the nurses placed the TV remote out of his reach and only handed him pudding when he tried calling them. He was just about to head out of the room.

Nyx knocked on the door frame to what was Mau's room for only the next few minutes, "Oh! You're up!" There was a large grin on her face that faded slightly into one of inquiry, "Where is my pudding cup?" She had her priorities, and obviously pudding was the top, or at least, an excuse to cover up whatever or whoever that actually was.
No one would ever know for sure, but it may have been that Nyx had arranged for the nurses to give him pudding when he asked for the remote. If only he had asked for pudding instead.
"Has it already been two weeks?" Nyx crossed her arms and revealed herself to be carrying a box in her hand, "I brought a movie, but it looks like you don't need entertaining now."

"Hey there, Nyx." He said with a smile. "Pudding? I sent it back because I was being discharged. But we can pick some up on the way out, if you want." He would have shrugged, but he wasn't able to move his shoulders. "Yeah, it's been two weeks. Two long... boring... lonely... un-stimulating weeks." He said with great emphasis on each word.
"But I'm supposed to still take it easy. It's like they're trying to bore me to death." He looked at the box in her hands. "A movie? What is it?" He couldn't see the title as he fingers were covering most of the lettering. "It's not Conan, is it?" he teased.

What was he talking about, lonely and un-stimulating? She had visited him every day for two weeks! Her company was anything but un-stimulating! She was the most stimulating person she knew! Nyx frowned with a huff, "Oh, this? No, not Conan. Arceus, no." Beaker had driven her crazy with watching that blasted movie over and over.
"It's 'The Reactivator," Nyx held up a box with an image of some crazed man, illuminated by a glowing green vial. The box seemed like it had been opened and closed numerous times, maybe due to the fact that it was one of the scientist's favorite movies.

He didn't know that inwardly, Nyx was steaming, and Nyx probably had no idea that aside from her, he hadn't seen anyone but the medical staff. Not even dear sweet Allen.
"I'm still going to be cooped up in my room a few days before they let me back in the labs." He sighed. "So,The Reactivator.... No reason we can't still watch that." The idea of not having much entertainment for another few days would have made him shoot himself if he didn't thin he'd have to be in recovery even longer.

"Hmmm... Alright. But I think the tech department is having some sort of video game tournament or some nonsense in the lounge tonight..." They would have to find somewhere else to watch the movie, since those tournaments normally lasted well into the next morning. Nyx stood with her back against the door, waiting for Mau to leave the room.
It didn't seem to take long for Nyx to become preoccupied with other, non-irritated, thoughts; Especially since she may or may not have been the cause for some of his excruciating boredom. If he were ever in the infirmary again, she'd be sure to give him a hint about how the pudding game worked. "Mm.. I'll just get my own pudding later." She added as an afterthought.

"They are? Those are always so noisy..." He sighed. And didn't someone get so trashed that they wanted to put the game station in the dishwasher? He sort of recalled hearing something about that. "Well that's a downer." He thought about this some. "Of course I think Aki would like to see me again... he's been tending my plants with Ire while I've been holed up here." He said while walking past Nyx, murmuring a thanks that she held the door for him.
"I've got... a DVD player in my room." He sort of half offered.

"I suppose that will have to do." Nyx walked next to Mau down the halls and to his room. "I'd offer up my room, but, well... you've seen my room." Truly, it was a sight: Pokemon toys, beds, and pokemon everywhere. It would have been a miracle if they would have even been able to wrest control of the computer from Darwin, Newton, or Beaker. The three of them fought over the blasted thing constantly. Nyx didn't have a dvd player in her room, so that would have been a problem as well.

Mau laughed softly, shaking his head. "At least none of mine have figured out how to open a laptop." It was a bit of a blessing he supposed. Of course none of his pokemon seemed very interested in the glowing box he often had on his bed. He waled beside her till they reached his door. Part of him was afraid to open it. How much of a mess was it? Had Aki and Ire torn the room apart?
He swallowed hard before unlocking the door and pushing it open. There was a soft growl as the door opened, but that soon was replaced with a happy "POR!" and Aki was prancing in front of the door, looking at Mau. It took him a moment to realize Nyx was there. He bumped his nose against her knee before Mau gently pushed him aside so they could walk in.
There was a rustle and one of the plants moved some. Behind the plant, a pair of yellow and purple ears were seen poking up above the pot. Soon a pair of lavender eyes were seen peering at them. "Eon..." She was conflicted about seeing her person and not trusting the new person.

"Hello, Aki." Nyx greeted the friendly Vaporeon with a quick pat on the head before he was moved out of the way and she was able to follow Mau into the room. Nyx stood next to the door, waiting for Mau to get re-situated in his room before she would put the movie in and take a seat on his wonderfully soft sheets. Oh, those sheets; Nyx had dreams where she had sheets that soft, and everything she owned was made out of them.
"Oh, is that a jolteon?" Nyx squinted, trying to make out exactly what was behind the plants, "I didn't know you had one, Mau." She scratched her head and sighed, what was it about electric types and being shy? "Reminds me of Tesla..." Nyx tried not to pay too much attention to the creature. She had learned, with her pikachu, that ignoring a shy pokemon and letting it get used to you on its own time was the best way of going about things.

"Hnnn? Oh, yes. That's Ire." He said. The jolteon peeked at Nyx a moment before laying down, hiding behind the plant. "She's very nervous around people she doesn't know." Which was pretty much everyone. He hadn't been able to work with her much lately, what with Nuu being such a handful, breaking his arm in a car crash, and now this. Oh well. Mau showed Nyx how to work the DVD player, as he couldn't reach up that high just yet.
Of course, as soon as Aki saw that they were going to watch a movie, he dove under the bed and began pushing out a box. It had extra pillows. Mau always had extra pillows out for everyone to watch movies! They were comfy to lay on! He managed to scratch the container open, freeing the pillows! Well, he grabbed a couple in his mouth and threw them onto the bed before jumping up and nosing around on the bed till he found his tropius plush and flopped on a pillow with it, ready to watch.
"Make yourself comfortable."

Nyx did what Mau said, and grabbed one of the extra pillows before making herself comfortable sitting next to Aki. She waited for Mau to sit down before pressing 'play' on the remote and eagerly awaited the movie to start. "I think you'll like this movie, Mau." Nyx announced as a blue castle on a darker blue background appeared on the screen and a star shot across the top, forming some sort of studio emblem.
"Huh?" Something wasn't right, that wasn't the studio who made 'The Reactivator', not at all. The movie that belonged in the dvd case she brought was about a mad scientist who made zombies, not- oh no...
"We can't watch this!" Nyx nearly shouted as a pink menu screen finally made its debut, 'Slumbering Beauty' appeared in fancy golden letters, and the animated image of a pretty blond girl dancing with a prince played in the background while the machine waited for someone to select 'play'. Nyx looked mortified and quickly pressed every button she could think of to try and turn the blasted machine off.

Mau had just gotten comfortable when Nyx started flailing. He eyed the pink menu suspiciously before looking at Nyx. He blinked a couple times. "The power button doesn't work on the remote. It had a little... Aki-encounter." The vaporeon covered his nose with a paw and tried to hide his face in the pillows. "So just why can't we watch this..." horrible pink monstrosity with music that would make your ears bleed "movie?" He actually didn't care to watch this, but.... he hadn't watched anything since a marathon of "I was bitten and it was worse than I thought" with Nyx a week ago. Come to think of it, that was about the only thing he watched... every time Nyx came to visit. Oh the things those hicks did to those poor nidoran... NO! That was not important.
Mau closed his eyes. "Why do you have this movie if we can't watch it?"

"Because! ..." There wasn't a good reason. But, she couldn't exactly just tell Mau that she enjoyed princess movies. No, never! That would provide him with every bit of ammunition he would ever need against her until the end of time! "Because..." She fumbled around, trying to think of some excuse, both for not being able to watch it and for owning it. Why was it so hard to think!?
"Science?" Nyx stared at Mau with a straight face. That was an answer, right? That would keep him from asking more questions, surely... She wasn't so sure, though, and started wishing she'd said something different. Maybe something like 'oh, that belongs to Newton', or some other easy lie.
While Nyx struggled to save her reputation, the menu played in the background, repeating the same song when it finally reached the end.

"Science?" He raised a brow and turned to face her. He had an obviously skeptical look on his face. "Nadja was right, you're a bad actor. Or at least a bad liar." He looked at the TV irritated. "Can you at least hit play so that song stops? And then you can tell me the real reason you have something like this." In truth, her not wanting to tell him was far more fun than if she had been honest and just said it. Drawing it out would be better, specially if she squirmed a little with more excuses.
