Sena walked slowly over the grass, watching the wind blow it against his hooves. It had been a couple weeks since he'd seen Mera, and since their last conversation had been a fight, he wondered if she was still mad at him, or if she was okay. He worried about her, she was his friend and he hated not talking to her.

She looked to the clouded sky, she ground was still wet from the rain that was had a few days before. Snorting she knew soon snow would be hitting the ground. Dry, wet grass clung to her as she walked through it. Her belly was bulging more than it had the day the mare she'd met had shed the light on her condition. Her father had helped to calm her after the fight with Sena at least enough so that her emotions weren't running as rapid now. She knew the fight had been her fault and now she wanted to do the right thing and apologies to him. She also had to drop the proverbial shield on his hoof about the foals to come.

Sena sighed a bit as he sniffs a bit, smelling the snow that would soon come. He didn't much like snow, preferred the sunny warmth of spring to the cold.

Off in the distance, she caught a familiar sight. Sena was walking the opposite direction from her. Giving a small sight, she knew she'd have to face him sooner or later just it seemed she'd stumbled on him rather sooner than she'd thought she would. Giving a nicker, she made her was forward.

His ears twitched backward a little and he caught the sound of hooves coming nearer. "Huh..?" he turned then and looked behind him, smiling a bit when he saw Mera, not noticing her belly yet. "Mera?" he asked lightly, starting to come toward her.

She offered him a small smile to show she wasn't angry any more. "Hi Sena.. I'm sorry about the other day... It's just that I didn't exactly know what was wrong and it just frustrated me when you wouldn't drop things... I never meant to snap at you and hurt your feelings if I did..." She hopped he wouldn't be still cross with her. "There's something else I'd like to talk to you about..."

He shook his head a little, smiling softly. "It's alright, I shouldn't have pushed," he murmured. Something else? He wondered what it could be and blinked at her, cocking his head to the side a little and shifted on his front legs. "What is it?"

Mera shuffled a bit herself. "Um.. remember that one time.. we..... yeah.. and it was just the once? Well it would seem that something else happened.. you're going to be a father..." She blinked a few times. "It's the simplest I could put it.. You'll be a father, Sena.. I'm pregnant... and before you say anything.. I know it's unexpected and wasn't planned or anything But it's ok. I'm not mad at you.. I haven't told my father yet but I hope this just doesn't destroy our friendship." She looked to her hooves and then up to him.

Sena blinked. And stared. "F-father..?" he said a little hoarsely. He froze for a moment, it wasn't...a bad surprise. He wasn't upset. It was just...wow. He was going to be a father. Her last words hit him like a ton of bricks and he shook his head quickly. "N-no! Not at all, heh...I'm...h-happy! In shock, heh....but happy..." He smiled lightly and blushed. "Ah..heh...w-want me to be there w-when you tell him?" Despite the fact that he senses nightmares coming of Albert skewering him with his spear, he thought he should offer to help her tell him, since it was half his fault she was pregnant to begin with.

She nodded slowly. "That.. may be a good idea.. I wouldn't want him to think you any less of a stallion for not owning up to this.. He may go easier on you if you're there..." She could still see both herself and Sena being whacked across the rump at the very least with her father's spear handle
.
He smiled a little and nudged her muzzle a little. "Okay, I'll be there then," he said lightly. "So uhh....when did you find out?".

"Truthfully.. the other day... a mare pointed it out to me.. and then i got what i think was a hoof just right so that it knocked the wind out of me..." She looked a bit sheepish at the fact that the whole time she was going through all the changes and symptoms of mother hood she'd just thought she was sick and getting fat for the winter.

A light blush colored his muzzle as she spoke. "Really? Are they moving now? Would I be able to feel them?" he asked a little fast, getting excited. He'd never thought about becoming a father before, but now that it was happening it was filling him with such a...strange feeling. It felt like..pride. He couldn't wait to meet them.

She gave a small nod. "They're moving a little bit. if your patient you might be able to feel them.. at least i thinks there's more than one..." She looked at her belly, a slight expression of puzzlement on her face.

He smiled again at her look, wondering just how many foals they were having. He shuffled on his hooves a little before coming closer and laying the side of his face against her belly, waiting patiently.

She felt a bit odd having children with some one who was nothing more than a friend but then again, she supposed her parents had been friends once before becoming something more. Shaking the thought aside, she waited to see if the foals within her womb would move so that he could feel them. It wasn't very long and a small round bump formed over the smooth surface of her stomach, it could have been anything, a hoof, head or even the little boy or girl's rump. It wasn't there long, just long enough to bump his face through the walls of her stomach and womb before vanishing as fast as it came.

Sena gasped lightly when he felt the bump. "I felt it! It kicked! Or something, hehe!" he exclaimed, excited as he pranced around her a little. "What's it like when they kick?" he asked curiously.

"The truth?" She blinked a few times. "The truth is... it really depends.. some times they kick in the right spot and it makes me want to relieve myself." She gave an embarrassed chuckle. "Not to mention it some times wakes me up..." She grinned. "It's a bit over whelming at first but then you get use to it."

He laughed lightly. "Yeah, I can imagine, heh..." he blushed a little as he spoke, shuffling a little nervously now. "Hey, Mera? Th-think we should go tell your father now? Y'know...better to tell him early maybe, than to wait until it's too late, heh."

She nodded some. "Yeah.. I think telling him now's best for both of us.." She gave a small chuckle. " This way I'm not surprising him with some foals tagging along behind me." She grinned wide and turned, heading off to go find her father so the could pay the piper and reap what they'd sown.

Albert was laying sprawled on the ground. It was not a normal position one found him in. He had had a bad night, and bore the marks of the wolves that had decided to get onto their winter feeding early and try to take out a stallion. He'd have their pelts on a cave wall if he could. Be had assured the four wolves that he was not one to mess with, and that they should find easier prey. They had agreed and left him alone, and now, he was feeling a little sore.

A little apprehensive, Sena paused for a second before following after her. They walked a little ways before he spotted a stallion laying on the ground. He cocked his head a little and squinted. "Mera? Is...is that your dad up there?"

Her gaze followed Sena's. Sure enough, she saw a familiar lump on the ground. Her worst fears started to bubble into her mind and she seemed to become a bit panicky as they got closer. "It really does look like him... We'd better hurry!" She picked up her pace, the only thought in her mind now was that she hoped he wasn't laying there dead.

Albert heard the approaching hoofbeats, and lifted his head a bit to see the who was approaching. And he caught the familiar flutter of his daughters veils as they caught in the slight breeze and smiled.. There was also a rainbow spotted stallion at her side. He couldn't help but smirk. 'Oh look,' he thought. 'The calvary has arrived.'

Sena picked up his pace as well, worried that something horrible had happened. A vague thought slipped through his mind that this would not be a good time to tell him about Mera, but when else could they?

Mera didn't notice him raise his head. Her thoughts were racing. Thoughts like What if he never gets to meet his grandchildren from me? Slipped by as she drew nearer. "Father!" She hadn't meant the panic to soak her voice yet still it had seaped through as she stopped just a few feet from him. "F-father?" She lowered her head and lipped at the edge of his cloak giving it a small familiar tug.

At the sound of her panic, he surged to his feet, looking around for what had caused her panic. Seeing no threats about to pounce or attack while he was in such a vulnerable state, he turned back to see Mera with the cloak in her mouth, and gave his tail a slightly irritated flick. His shoulder started to throb, and his ears tilted back a bit in annoyance. "Hello Mera." He turned to look at the approaching stallion.

Sena let out a relieved breath as Albert stood, though the look he had as he looked around made the rainbow pelted stallion slow a little as he caught up to Mera. He nodded to the other male, almost afraid to speak now.

She abruptly dropped the cloak and looked at him, paleing a little. "Hello father..." She looked at him rather meekly like a child who knew she was about to get a large lecture.

He watched Sena for a moment longer, never blinking, before speaking to Mera, though keeping his eyes firmly on Sena. It was all he could do not to drive the other stallion back, keeping him further from he and his daughter. His protective instinct raged through him, and he fought with it. Mera's call had brought forth his fight or flight instinct, and he was not much of a fleeer. It was not helped by his recent injury, and though not bad, very painful. A crimson trickle was making its way down his left front leg as he stood there. "Merashik, I trust you had a good reason to get me on my feet quickly?" His voice was deceptively calm and well controlled.

Sena swallowed audibly as Albert watched him, his ears flattening against his skull a little. He wasn't really a fighter, and he knew if Albert decided to attack him there wasn't much he could do about it. He hoped it didn't come to that, and shuffled a bit on his hooves. That voice...he could tell that despite the calm note it held, they were most lightly in trouble.

Uh, here it was.. that calm anger he had to him. This certainly wasn't going to be an easy thing to go though. She shuffled on her feet and looked back at Sena before looking at her father and lowering her head in a droop. "I'm... I'm sorry father.. It just looked the way you were laying there like you were dead or dieing..." She sniffled some. Dear gods these hormones really were something new and annoying. Wet and warm tears slid down her face as she looked back up at her father with that almost child like I'm sorry look on her face. It was as she was looking up that she noticed the trickle of blood. "You're hurt!" She exclaimed and despite herself, mothering instincts kicked in and she started trying to look and check out her own father as though he had been one of her own foals.

He turned his attention to his daughter, noticing the other stallions nervous shuffle. It helped a bit. And her tears helped a bit too, though they wanted to also make him hurt whatever had made her cry, and he also knew that was him. He could understand though that it was concern that had brought her to call out in a panicky tone, and he could forgive her that, though one should never sound panicked when running towards a wounded horse. They had a tendency to bolt, and could hurt themselves worse. But he had a surge of annoyance as Mera tried to check out his leg. He stepped back, and shook a bit, letting his cloak fall to hide his wounds. "They are fine, though they hurt." He closed his eyes and took several deep breaths, trying to calm his racing heart, though he knew when he did his leg would start hurting again. And he would be damned before he limped in front of this other stallion right now.

The fact that Albert didn't want his wounds fussed over, and didn't limp from them either, made Sena respect him more. He knew he wasn't a good fighter, and he admired stallions that were. "M-Mera," he murmured, "Leave it be...it didn't look that b-bad..." he tried, thinking perhaps it could help.

She was about to go into a round of 'chase the wound to doctor it' before Sena spoke up. Looking from her father to Sena and back again she puffed out her lips and blew threw them. "Fine.. but if it gets any worse I want you to see mother about them.." She knew if things really got too badly he'd seek out some sort of aid.. at least she hoped he would. Stepping away she looked around and sniffled back what was left of her tears. "Father?" She gave a small sigh and spoke in a tone attempting to calm the all down. "Can we have a chat?"

Albert tilted his head slightly to look at her. "Why, I thought that's what we where doing." His tone still had the light quality to it, almost airy. He almost felt sorry for the other stallion who had tried to calm the situation, though it was nice that Mera hadn't gotten him to help her out. There would have been a fight

Sena shifted a little still, thought he felt the air around the three might have calmed a little since they had first disturbed Albert. "Ah..n-no...M-Mera..and I...w-we..have s-something else...to t-talk to you about.." he murmured.

Albert turned his attention back to the stammering stallion, and slowly, though with deliberate steps, circled around him. he was pretty sure what the two had come to tell him. Mera was a little rounded then last time, and he felt his focus sharpen on the other stallion. Oh, he wasn't going to hurt him, but it didn't mean he couldn't have a little fun. Maybe it would help with the little voices that told him to take the stallion apart for ever being with his daughter. But she was a young adult. She knew herself well enough. And because she was family, she was harder to pick on. This young stud though..... "Oh really? What would you have to say?"

She nodded. "Yeah.. We need.... to um.... talk to you about something pretty serious...." She looked at Sena and gave a 'Here goes nothing' look. "F-father.. um.. Daddy..." She fumbled for the words before taking in air and letting it out slowly. It was like a sand burr.. the faster you pulled it the quicker the pain could pass. so too was telling her father.. or she hoped at least. "I'm pregnant." She blurted at once then looked a bit shocked that it actually came out though her mouth felt dry as sand in the desert on a hot summer day.

Again, Sena swallowed loudly as Mera told Albert their news. He leaned toward her a little, both giving and receiving support as he waited for the older stallion's reaction.

He chuckled, though there was a hint of amusement in his tone, and he shook his head. "So, you finally figured it out eh? It's about time you did. I was beginning to wonder." He stepped between Sena and Mera, stepping closer to the stallion and hoping instinct would start making Sena take some setps. "So I guess my attention now comes to you, colt."

She gave a small sigh and shook her head. She knew this wouldn't be easy and it would be worse still on Sena. But she had to hope that her father saw some sort of back bone and worth in him to be atleast a little lenient with him since after all... He did show up with her to break the news instead of walking off and leaving her to go through this all alone.

He blinked a little. So Albert had known before Mera did? As her father came closer, Sena did take a step backwards, inclining his head a little to Albert. "Uh..y-yes, sir...I s-suppose it would," he said softly, a little nervous, but willing to take whatever was coming.
