Lirona gingerly made her way throughout the small street parade that she had happened across on her way home from her daily ice cream jaunt. Ever since she had gotten pregnant, she'd had the most irresistible craving for ice cream of any flavor, from coconut to Half-Baked Ben & Jerry's to even pistachio, which she normally hated. Not wanting to impose on any of the other members of her family, especially after the terrible incident with Aludra, she had gotten into the habit of walking down the block every other day to buy herself another pint; she was on very good terms with the supermarket people by now.

However, today had blessed her with a present. A parade celebrating the holiday season had greeted her as she had walked out her door, and she had seen no reason not to (carefully, of course) wander through the festive atmosphere and see whatever caught her interest. Down the road was the main feature, the parade, which had several adorable (and obviously home-made floats), a crew of Santas on motorcycles, scantily-clad she-Santas in a sleigh pulled by equally almost-naked male reindeer, and all manners of candy being thrown for children to gather. The intoxicating scents of cinnamon-roasted almonds, hot chocolate, and gingerbread permeated the atmosphere. Along the sidewalks a sort of farmer's market had sprung up, with people and artists selling their adorable wares to people who still needed Christmas gifts for their loved ones.

It was to this last place that Lirona went (although Jake was insistent on getting closer to those bikini-clad women), perusing the jewelry counters in particular. She carefully inspected every cross she came across, Aludra in her mind. After the hell he'd been through, he certainly deserved something so beautiful.

Cera looked over the scene while adjusting her hands inside of her fur muff. Seeing as it was only a few days away from her birthday, her guardian had seen fit to send her out for the day so they could 'clean the house', but she knew better. Their whispers and hurrid attempts to hide things said it all. The Greed spawn couldn't wait! She'd hoped for a party every day, and now it was so close to being reality.

Today, however, she was working off some energy at the holiday parade. Thin streams of lights hung off the stalls and children ran around with Santa hats and reindeer antlers whilst sucking on candy canes. When the gaggle of nearly-naked people came through, she flushed and turned around, deciding in a hurry to look over the wares.

She wasn't paying attention to where she was walking when she brushed against someone. Panic instantly flared up. "I am so, so sorry!" Was the girl...was she pregnant?! What terrible luck! "I didn't mean to do it, I swear."

Lira gasped in surprise when someone bumped up against her, but her smile was warm and comforting as the girl panicked. "Oh, don't worry sweetheart, it's fine. I know you didn't do it on purpose." Without a thought she reached out and ruffled the girl's hair affectionately, beaming pleasantly. The season was certainly working its magic on her.

"If you want though, you can pay me back," she said with a clever smile. Lira turned her attention back towards the jewelry counter, peering carefully as Jake continued writhing sadly towards the women. "I'm looking for a present for my boyfriend, and he happens to like shiny things such as this, but I'm having trouble picking one out." She looked happily at the girl. "Care to lend an opinion?"

"Oh, t-thank you." Cera put a hand on her heart and smiled shyly when her hair was ruffled. It made her extremely nervous to be touched, but thanks to the girl's comforting air, she felt calmer because of it.

Her sharp eyes caught a bit of movement, and when she looked down, she wished she hadn't. Tentacles made her wary after what Lissy's tried to do to her while she was sitting on the couch. "Sure." She eagerly looked at the shinies with an excited 'ooooh' slipping out. "Their all so gorgeous, I don't know where to start. I guess you could find something in his favorite style or color?"

Lira smiled warmly and peered over the jewels with the girl, cooing with her as her eyes roamed over all of the sparkling beauties. She nodded at her comment. "Yes, that's what I was thinking. But... Well, the only thing I know for sure is that he likes crosses, and his favorite color is olive green." She pouted slightly. "But I feel like I get him crosses all the time. I wanted to get him something different, but..." She pouted again, her puzzlement clear.

As the two women were peering over the shinies, Jake directed his attention from the bikini women to the perfectly pretty girl beside him. Taking advantage of their distraction, he slipped over her shoulder, wrapping tightly and happily around her arm. When Lira saw this out of her peripheral vision, she cried out and straightened up. "Oh, Jake, bad! Let go of her, not nice!"

But Jake was persistent; apparently being denied those women had put him in a mood. He clung all the tighter, rippling in a way that could have been purring.

Cera's eager eyes roamed over the glistening jewels. She wanted them all!, but that wasn't why she was here. She tapped her bottom lip with her finger. "How about an angel then, if he likes them for religiously? Or how about a snow flake?" She pointed down at a snowflake pendant. "But it doesn't have any color...Hrm."

Her large, skin colored tail swayed behind her, moving out the way just in time to avoid bumping into anyone. When Jake went on the offensive, it instantly stopped. "Ahh!" Cera shrieked with surprise as her body went ramrod stiff. She didn't know what was touching her until the girl started talking, and it occured to her that she might want to look down. What she saw reminded her exactly why she never sat close to Lissy.

Cera inhaled sharply and closed her eyes. "I-it's okay. Really." She squeeked. She didn't like the way it was moving at all.

Lirona noticed Cera's ravenous gaze over the jewels, and already she was trying to calculate if she could afford to but the girl a little something for her trouble. Her scales, her ears, and her horns reminded her strongly of Aludra; perhaps she was a Greed spawn too. In that case, not getting her a present was out of the question; it would almost definitely brighten up her day.

"Hmmm..." Lira said thoughtfully as she listened to the girl's suggestion, one finger touching her lips softly. "That's a really good idea. I wonder why I didn't think of it before. Perhaps it's a little feminine for his tastes, but at the same time..." She chuckled, a noise filled with affection and a bit of mischief, and winked at Cera, "He's not as tough and manly as he likes to pretend~" Her golden eyes began looking over the angelic pendants more closely, looking for something that would suit her boyfriend...

When Cera shrieked, Lira jumped, and immediately frowned at Jake. She brushed away her apology, poking at her rude tentacle firmly. "No, nothing to apologize about, dear. I'd make Jake apologize if he could. Now, you let go of her!" With her minimal strength, she tugged and poked at her obstinate appendage until she was finally able to coax him away from Cera's arm, forcing him to wrap sullenly around her slender wrist.

Lira looked at the girl with concern, reluctant to touch her, for her sake. Apologies flowed of her tongue like water from a spring. "I'm so sorry honey, are you okay? I can tell you didn't like that, I am really so sorry, sometimes he just forgets boundaries..." She smiled a very hesitant smile at Cera, hoping she didn't just ruin his encounter. "Are you going to be alright?"

As soon as she was able, Cera scuttled away from the tentacles reach in a flurry of shivers. Tentacles were just so...Another ravenous shiver travelled up her body as the teenager wrapped her arms around her waist. "No, no, r-r-really, it's okay." Liar. Okay, so maybe it wasn't okay, but she didn't want the girl to feel bad over something she couldn't control.

"I'm fine." She said as much for the other as she did for herself. After a brief breather, Cera stepped back up to the case, those visibly putting distance between them. "Anyway, we're still looking for a gift, aren't we?" She smiled.

It was clear that the girl was uncomfortable, no matter what she said otherwise, and Lira frowned disapprovingly at Jake. Pesky little tentacle, he should learn how to behave himself... She flicked him peevishly, making him recoil like a snake, and ignored him for the rest of his encounter, letting him sulk away in his coil. She offered a reassuring smile to the young woman. "Don't worry, he won't be doing that again. He'll keep... himself... to himself from now on." Lira paused and wrinkled her nose in confusion at the odd phrasing, but then continued.

Although she could tell that Cera meant no harm, Lira was still hurt when she saw the deliberate distance put between them. Stupid Jake, making this awkward and hard... Her hormones began to flare up, and she pouted for a good moment, tearily frustrated with her stupid lusty tentacle... Jerk. But Cera's question brought her back to herself, and she quickly smiled, tears already vanishing. "Right! That's our goal. So, I liked what you said about the angels, that was really smart. I'm so in the dark about religion, I can only seem to think of crosses when I think of it. All angels remind me of is Christmas. I'm such a dolt." She giggled at herself, as she was prone to do, and then began peering over the angel pendants more seriously.

"Hmm... Oh, but they're all pretty... Uh... What do you think about this one?" Lira held up a silver-and-gold pendant, cleverly designed to form an angel with golden wings. "That doesn't look too femmy, does it? I mean, he has a real badass image going on, and I wouldn't want to get in the way of that." Lira giggled to herself at the thought of Aludra being a badass; she could only think of him as the cute, protective, thoroughly teasable lover he had become.

Cera's smile loosened up. Not much, but enough to show that she was still optimistic about this encounter. And as briefly as they had appeared, she was still aware of Lira's tears, and it cut her to the core. Was that her fault? She hadn't meant anything bad! Oh boy...

She let out a little sheepish giggle. "Honestly? So am I. The only time I've actually been inside a church was for a Christmas play, and that was last week!" She laughed. And what an episode that was, with her gloriously dysfunctional family.

"Ooooh! I don't see how anyone wouldn't like that one. And I think he can still pull off his look while wearing it."

As much as Cera was concerned that she had ruined their little jaunt, Lira was worried about the exact same thing. Stupid... women and stupid... Lust, screwing everything up. So the other girl's persisting smile comforted her greatly, and she smiled back in turn. Thank goodness for the other girl's tolerance of her single-minded tentacle. Keeping a firm hold on Jake, she turned and giggled at the other girl's story. "Aw, well, that must have been fun. I've never been in a play before, I can't act to save my life. My boyfriend can though, he's amazing." Realizing she was gushing, Lira covered her hand with her mouth and blushed looking away.

"Sorry... Raging hormones are making me an emotional rollercoaster. And that's good, then I think I'll get that one. Thank you so much for your help!" She plucked up the pendant and carried it towards the counter, turning to continue her conversation with the girl. "So, do you have any special people you need to buy presents for? Parents, boyfriend, girlfriend? I'd be happy to return your favor to me."
