Ah the shopping areas. So easy to get in.....and so easy to get out. He adored the ability to talk a person and get what he wanted. Sure, Kellie didn't approve, and kept a strict spending limit on things, but it wasn't like he really had any tendency towards the things that were TOO expensive...Just sparklie things and things that were edible. Moving down the way, he'd stopped in a jewelry shop, perusing the shelves with a smirk, "Lovely....So lovely..." He purred. Gently brushing some of his red hair back, his tail flicking back and forth.

Christmas. Anbu loved the holiday, but work and watching after her little brother had made it very, very hard to buy gifts before that day. And now...well, Anbu was more than a little flustered after dealing with far too many idiots and screeching children and other general headaches. She ducked into the last store on her list, a little jewelry shop she'd spyed a couple of weeks ago and had thought interesting. The Scent let out a silent sigh of relief, then proceeded to browse through the selection...and was surprised to find what could only be another Scent in the shop. She smiled slightly and came up behind the child, reaching a gloved hand out to tap him on the shoulder. "You look quite out of place here."

Spinning around, he looked up at her, letting out a low sound. Dammit....Another Scent meant theat he wouldn't be able to talk someone into what he wanted. Most of the others didn't seem to think it a good thing. So he smiled the innocent smile that he used to convince others he was just another kid, "I'm...Trying to get my mom a present. She doesn't have too many nice things." A lie....sorta. Kellie didn't keep too many nice things around, but the pretty would be for 'Gen.

Anbu raised her visible brow, no stranger to the 'innocent' act. She'd attempted it more than a few times when trying to get out of trouble. "Your mom, hm? I don't quite believe you, but I'm not one to judge in this case." She had standards, but her ethics were a little...different from those of others. A combination of her own natural attitude and her mother's rather odd view of the world. "What sort of things does your mother like?"

He tried to think, slowly, quickly, "Necklaces." Wait....She hated those...Said they got in the way when they were working in the garage. but he wanted one. One of the silver ones with lots of stones on it, "I was thinking of getting her one for christmas. After all, since she's a mechanic, I think she should have a nice thing or two, right?" Green eyes were sparkling eagerly at Anbu, as he watched her, tail flickering back and forth.

Anbu laughed softly, a dark sound that wasn't a giggle, but wasn't a chuckle. She knew his game. And she felt like indulging him. Perhaps it would help her find the last couple of gifts she needed. "A necklace is a nice choice. Let's see..." She looked around, then motioned for him to follow. "This way." She moved with an almost eerie grace, moving around anyone in her way with ease.

He knew she was playing around, though, and it delighted him. Moving after her, he moved with his own semblance of grace, each step swaying his child's body in a sinuous, serpentine manner, "Coming~" Something told him that the two of them would get on VERY well~

Once where the necklaces were displayed, Anbu stopped, her eyes looking over them. She'd developed an eye for things, thanks to certain of her friends and her mother's patron. She spied a rather nicely wrought necklace that would complement the other Scent nicely, she thought. She pointed it out to him. "This one looks nice, wouldn't you say?" For all the world, she could be a concerned citizen helping a child find a Christmas present.

He grinned, looking up at her with a slow nod, "Yeah. She would like that." Keeping up pretenses were important. Looking over to the clerk, he gave him a grin. This wouldn't be as easy as stealing fruit from a vendor, or talking the lady at the sweet shop into giving him a roll. No...This would be fun and complicated.

Anbu gave her odd laugh again. "I thought so. I've an eye for such things." Oh! There was a nice necklace near that that would have looked stunning on Arius. Then again, there was very little that Ari couldn't pull off. She gave the other Scent a look that said she'd leave him to his 'game', and beckoned over another clerk, pointing out the necklace to be taken to the front so she should continue to peruse but not have to worry about loosing such a wonderful necklace to someone else.

Looking to the clerk, Nagendra started his word game. Here in this place, he knew he'd have to pay a bit, but he'd be able to at least get the price significantly reduced with crocodile tears and tale of certain living conditions....and dodging questions. Of course...He COULD just snitch it, and the boy was seriously considering it. This guy wasn't budging on the price. Casting a look over to Anbu, it was almost the 'would it be worth running for?' look. He wanted this thing BAD....

Hmm...poor boy was having no luck. Anbu looked over discreetly from where she was admiring some rather pretty hair ornaments. Well...she had some extra money. It wouldn't hurt to help out. And it could get her into the good graces of the shop owners. After all...who would suspect someone simply trying to help a child get their mother a Christmas gift? Yes, it would be worth the expenditure in the long run. She wandered back over, putting on her most sympathetic smile. "Don't quite have enough, kiddo?"

He made a noise of discontent, but showed her 2/3 of the coin for the thing. It was HIS christmas money from Kellie. After all. the garage did make a good bit of revenue. "I have this much." He made himself look and sound totally innocent, smiling sweetly at Anbu, "Mum would just adore this." Sure, he looked strange, with his dragon horns, and tail, but still. He was intent on getting EVERYTHING he wanted, by any means necessary, and if she was willing to help him out, well, he wasn't complaining.

Anbu knew that wasn't all of it, but she didn't mind. She'd figured it would happen. After all, he seemed a bit like her. "I can make up the difference. I've a little extra, after I get my gifts sorted out." She looked to the clerk. "If you'd put it with the other necklace I had the lovely young lady clerk hold up at the front for me, I'd be most grateful. I've still one more gift to find before checking out."

Nagendra followed her, putting the coins in an extra pocket, until it was time, "So...I'm Nagendra. Who're you?" He was semi-dancing on his feet, happy with this turn out. How nice~ For him at least.

Anbu kept an eye out for the perfect gift she was looking for, knowing it HAD to be well chosen. Or else she'd scare the recipient off. Poor thing was so skittish of her. "I'm Anbu. A pleasure to meet you Nagendra."

"Anbu~" He would keep her name in mind. Like Rhiloss and Ari. He liked them okay. They were both really fun. Rhiloss especially! He was so fun to tease. A wicked look crossed his face as he thought about it. Tche~ "So...Whatcha shoppin' for?"

Anbu smirked. "Presents. The one I'm looking for right now is for a rather interesting boy I know." She perked as something caught her eye. "Ah..." She stopped and looked over a rather nice ruby and quartz bracelet. "I think he may like this. At the very least, it would suit him well."

The boy nodded, 'That's really cute. I like it." He wouldn't take it for his own, but hey. Everyone had their own personal tastes, right? Tossing his hair, he followed her slowly, looking up at her, "So....." He hated silence. So irritating...

The last present found, she started for the counter. "So, have you met others like us?" She wouldn't say just what they WERE...he should know. And she didn't feel like risking more than strange looks at the moment. While she could easily wriggle out of a situation, she wasn't so sure about the boy.

He nodded, putting his own share of the pay on the counter, "Uh huh. Rhiloss and Arius." Nagendra would be willing to bet money that she'd met Arius, and Rhiloss....well, 'Gen didn't know about him. He was kinda weird. They were friends only because of what 'Gen had ended up doing to gain said friendship.

Anbu was a bit surprised, the eye not behind her mask widening a little. "Oh! I know them! In fact, the necklace I found is for Ari. As for Rhiloss...such a puzzle, that boy is." She sighed, then put the sum of money needed for the rest down. "The second necklace goes to the boy here. For his mother." Such a well-used and still effective ruse. Once everything was settled, she turned to Nagendra and winked. "If you see Ari before Christmas, don't tell him about my gift. I'd like to see the look on his face be a genuine one."

Taking the necklace from the man, he grinned, "No worries, Anbu~ I'm a good secret keeper." Those green eyes were alight and simply delighted, "So, can I take it we're friends then, Anbu~?" His tail was moving much in the same way as a pleased cat would.

Anbu laughed, a brighter sound with less mystery in it this time as she started for the exit. "I believe we are, yes." She made sure the presents were tucked safely in a bag. "It's nice to meet someone who thinks a little like me." It was lonely, sometimes, when only Kaoru and Ari really ever thought like her. And Ari's mind ran in such a different direction and Kaoru...Well, Anbu still wanted to protect Kaoru, just a little. Call it some semblance of maternal instinct.

Following her, it took her only a moment, before he pulled on the necklace for himself, "This is perfect~! Kellie's gonna wonder how I GOT it...buuuut~ I adore it. Thank you Anbu~" He leaned as far up as he could, kissing her on the cheek. He was a rather tall little tyke after all.

Anbu nodded. "You're welcome. I'm glad you like it." She pat him on the head, then looked at her pocketwatch. "Ah! I'd best be going. I need to get home before my family does, or their surprises will be ruined." She smiled at him. "It was nice meeting you. Perhaps we'll meet again soon." He was one of those she could class under people she could tolerate, even be 'friendly' to.

Nodding, he smiled in that fliritatious way of his, "You bet~ I'll see you later. I should probably get back to the Garage anyways." Turning around, the little draconic one danced down the way, back towards his home.

Anbu watched him go for a moment, before turning and starting towards home herself. She knew her family and Ari would like the gifts she'd gotten them. Hopefully the others she'd gotten gifts for liked them as well. She didn't like wasting her time.
