Roman loathed being sick.
Monday morning he awoke with a cough that developed into sniffles and gradually declined at the week progressed. Friday evening the exhausted spawn had collapsed shortly before dinner with a high fever. Moose had wasted no time in taking him to the doctor, where the diagnosis had reared it's ugly head.
Influenza. More commonly known as the flu.
With only his elder sisters in charge for the day, Roman felt confident that he could sneak upstairs for a glass of juice without someone nagging him. Thats what he hated most about being sick; not the dragging feeling (the pain the flu brought was dimmed to him), sneezing, coughing, vomiting, just the nagging. Wearing only the lower half of his dinosaur pajama bottoms, Roman topped the stairs to the second floor, and sat on the ladding for a minute to catch his breath. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all.

Kieran was bored.
When Roman was sick there was no amusement for the spawn. He watched Aile as she paced lifelessly across the den. She must be bored as well. He mused while silently fingering his ocarina. Neither of them wanted to admit it, but they were worried.
Ro was strong enough to fight the flu, Keiran was sure of that. He just didn't like his twin being sick. The child sighed softly before looking up, "Aile."
Instantly her gaze became determined and the toddler followed her older brother out into the hallway. Spotting their mark she crossed her arms and stared down at the other wrath child, "Ro." Even she understood that he shouldn't be out of bed.
Kieran leaned against the wall and shook his head, "Shouldn't you be in bed, Roman?" He raised an eyebrow. "Aile maybe you should help him back..."
The toddler almost grinned before looking back and forth between the twins.

Roman leaned his back against the door frame as a coughing fit wracked his body. He took deep breaths to steady it, pushing the tickling in the his throat down to look stronger infront of them. "Aile."
He wanted to get up and look macho while getting his juice. Like that was going to happen. "I'm awake, aren't I? And I can get up on my own," he growled. With one hand on the doorframe to brace himself, the Wrath spawn stood. It was wobbly, but it counted.

Kieran frowned. Why couldn't his twin just let them take care of him? "So?" He gestured to Roman and at his obvious weakness, "Doesn't mean that you should move."
Silently Aile watched the twins. Her body was tense and her frown was back on her face. Out of the corner of his eye, Kieran could tell that she was prepared to jump out and help Roman if it came to it. Sighing the boy shook his head, "Why are you up, Roman? You do know that if you want something we will get it for you, right?" He asked quietly.

Roman gave his twin 'the look', like he should just know by now. "Shut up, Key." He started forward, only to be stopped by another coughing fit. When was it going to end?! This one was shorter than the last, but it left his throat raw, which reminded him of his mission.
"I'm fine." He snapped, glaring at not only Key this time, but Aile. "I'm not dead, and I want juice." Puffing up his chest, Roman started walking to the fridge in a mild haze. Was the floor getting closer...? And why was the fridge changing shape? He stumbled back.

Key flinched. Why was Roman so angry? The spawn looked down at the floor. He just wanted to help. Really. Frowning Kieran shook his head. Roman wouldn't be allowed to scare him this time! "No you're not." He muttered following his twin.
Aile followed them with a sigh. Boys, really. When her brother stumbled back the toddler jumped past Key and reached out to grab Roman. "Don't make me fight you, Ro." She growled before supporting him.
Kieran had hold of Roman's left side, "You okay?" He asked looking at his twin with concern.

From the way his entire body lay slumped back, Roman looked like a fallen angel. He groaned and shifted his legs underneath him so he could crouch down, using his siblings for balance.
"Lil' dizzy." Roman closed his eyes tight and counted back from ten before opening them again. He felt better; still sick, but well enough to have control over himself. "Kieran? Juice." His clipped command was as close to a plea as it got with him.

Aile rolled her eyes at him. That was why he wasn't supposed to be up! Jeesh, why didn't Ro listen to anyone? While her thoughts were screaming themselves in her head the girl stayed quiet as she calmly supported her older brother.
"Mmm'hmm." Putting aside the usual tease, Kieran climbed up on a stool and pushed himself next to the refridgerator. With ease of practice the spawn reached in and wobbled down with the orange juice. Thankfully the girls hadn't put up the recently cleaned dishes yet so he just grabbed a slightly damp cup and poured the juice in.
"Here." He reached out with the juice before pausing. Could Roman handle a glass? Frowning the twin finally held it back out, "Be careful."

Roman tucked his legs underneath him so he could sit Indian style on the kitchen floor. The cold sent a shiver up his fevered body, but it soon passed. He looked up at Aile, then back away. Stupid flu. Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid. Being weak was not in his personality listing and it killed him to be babied. And just thinking about it made his hands clench.
He took the juice hurriedly and drank half of it before he broke for air. It burned the whole way down, but it effectively eased his coughing. His hands, however, were shaking so bad that he had to sit the glass on the floor. "Wha' 'ave you been doin'?"

Aile sat down next to Roman and just silently watched him as Kieran climbed up on the counter and grabbed some more glasses. "Nothing really." He commented looking back down at his twin.
"Sittin' in sun." Replied Aile without much emotion.
"Basically waiting on you to get better." Kieran finished and jumped down with two glasses of kool-aid in hand. "Here." He passed one to Aile before drinking his own. "Need anything else?" He asked before boldly scooting closer to his twin. Unlike his twin Kieran had the feeling that he really would never know what the flu or any cold would be like.

"Sounds boring." Roman took another drink of the juice. He looked down at the space between himself and Aile, slowly raising his eyes to give her a look. If he'd been better off, he would have scooted away.
"Sorry." Roman grumbled into his glass. "...How come your not sick?" They shared a room and everything else, so why not illnesses? It just didn't make any sense? "Or you?" He looked at Aile. She was even younger than he was.

"Duh." Replied Aile before quietly sipping at her drink.
"Pfft." Kieran nudged his twin with a grin, "Just make up for it later, kay?" He watched as Aile quietly moved off to try to put her glass back on the counter. "I dunno." He looked back at Roman and shrugged, "Guess sickness doesn't like me. Plus I have to watch afta you, so I don't want to be sick."
Aile blinked back at the two before shrugging herself, "Guess I beat it off." She replied easily before giving up on getting down and so just sat on the counter.

"Kay." Roman grinned, "Your weird, you know that? Some kinda unsick-weirdys." He stretched his legs out infront of him and wriggled his claws before laying down on the cool floor. Instinctively his wings fanned out to his sides.
He yawned and closed his eyes, unintentionally knodding off in the middle of the kitchen floor.

"Yeah, yeah." Kieran grinned as he watched his brother. Then as Roman fell asleep the spawn nodded to Aile. She grabbed Roman's shoulders while he grabbed his brothers feet. "One, two, three-" With a heave both (mainly Aile) picked up the sleeping spawn and stumbled down to his bedroom.
Watching Aile help Roman back into bed, Kieran shook his head. "He's really sick."
"Yeah." Aile coughed quietly into her hand before looking up at Kieran.
"I hope you didn't get sick."
"Dun worry." She grinned, "If I get sick I get to kill Ro later for it."
Kieran just laughed as Aile left the room and went back upstairs. Suddenly the boy paused at the door to look at his twin, "Get well soon, Roman." He whispered before turning off the light and closing the door.
