I just noticed this, but have you noticed they've been making it easier and easier to summon big monsters quickly
originally to get a monster with more then 2200 attack you needed 2 tributed
then they started making monsters with 2400 attack and 1 tribute
after all you needed was 2 monsters whos total level was the level you wanted to summon, as long as 1 was a tuner
and apperently next all you need is 2 monsters with the same level on the field...

excess summon, changing game mechanics for the third time.
first game mechanic change wasn't a big deal, since it was pretty early for the TCG. Rituals were truely okay.
Synchros kinda made people go WTF at first, but it became wonderful as new support for it came out.
i have my doubts about this excess summon, but hopefully it might just force them to increase the size of the extra deck.

the plus side - exceed monsters may not be good at all and the fact that the material monsters stay, technically, on the field makes it so you can't spam by special summoning from the grave.

axean . i have my doubts about this excess summon, but hopefully it might just force them to increase the size of the extra deck. From what I heard, it's gonna be in the main deck. What a waste of space. rofl

An Exceed Summon can be conducted when there are two or more monsters of the same Level on the field. Those monsters can be used as Material Monsters to Summon an Exceed Monster whose Level is equal to the combined Levels of the monsters on the field.
Material Monsters are not sent to the Graveyard. Instead, they are used as overlay.
'Overlay? That bugs me. Not because of the monsters in general. I am not competitive enough to care about game mechanics being changed, but I am not sure what they mean by overlay. Is this something that exists already in the game? In my mind I imagine someone placing a monster ontop of another monster."
