 How boring!
How utterly boring, this same life she lived day-to-day. How drab and dull and uninteresting Sure, she could play with her siblings...but what was the point? And even those other pups got dull after awhile. It was all the same, day-in and day-out: wrestling, teasing, stupid politics and keeping an eye on her boring, boring siblings.
Glory Storm was a wolf born with a greater purpose. She had known this, from the first moment her eyes had opened and she'd gained consciousness in her life: she was going to do Great Things.
It's just that she hadn't had much chance to do much of anything yet, and that made her very sad.
Well, no. Not sad. Glory Storm was above a stupid, weak emotion like sadness. She wasn't the type to sit around and pout about how bored she was.
She was the type to go out and MAKE adventure!
And so, with that in mind, the pup stalked out, past the dens, toward the less-populated areas of the pack territory, sniffing out adventure wherever she could.

 Rua was very pleased with himself. He'd somehow managed to get himself into a pack, which was a plus. He had a whole new group of wolves to protect! he'd definitely do better here than his birth pack. Which...hadn't turned out so well since they were all dead. And the incidents concerning those deaths seemed to be connected to him somehow, even though he hadn't directly caused it. Like how he'd lured that bear by accident to the dens when he'd eaten some honey. Then he'd wandered off again before he could help defend them from the savage beast. He never had good luck.
But he could put that all behind him now. This was a fresh start! He wanted to meet everyone to say hello and all that pleasantness. So, when he saw a lone pup wandering around he didn't hesitate to follow her. Obviously she'd need some protecting, and Rua would happily provide that. He didn't make any effort to be stealthily as he trundled up behind Glory. "Hello!" He suddenly booms with a grin. He was usually louder than he meant to be as well. "Young maiden! You shouldn't wander alone! There are all sorts of evils walking about!" He woofs and flicks his tail from side to side amiably.

She rolled her eyes and looked over her shoulder at him with a thoroughly disgusted expression. "Evils?" She scoffed. "Oh, please. Like what?" She wished there were some evils to deal with. That'd make her life way more interesting. The only evil thing she had to deal with was Conk's ugly face.
Hah, that was funny. She'd have to tell him that next time she saw him.
She craned her neck, looking up at the wolf, brow furrowed. He looked funny, but then, she was hardly one to talk. She, after all, had trees for legs, a fact which had been pointed out to her on multiple occasions. He looked kind of like Oathkeeper, she decided. Sparkly, like Oath. "Who are you supposed to be?" She asked, with the general callous bluntness she had learned from a (admittedly short) lifetime around the other pups of the pack.

Rua grinned some more and shook his head to get his 'mane' out of his eyes. It was an odd habit of his. "Well Miss, an evil could be anything. They're very common threats and could be even the most innocent of objects." He says with a nod. Then he looks around, spying a rock that was a little sharper than most. "Like this! You could have stepped on it and cut your paw and bled to death!" He proclaims, then promptly digs a hole and buries the rock. "And me? My name is Rua. I'm new to these lands and have promised to vanquish the evil that inhabits them." He barks and puffs his chest out again. He was very serious when he said this, but he still was smiling when he looked down at the pup with his glowing blue eyes. His necklace twinkled in the sun as well, making him look overly shiny in the bland forest environment.

"Oh. Great." Just what she needed -- some stupid grown-up following her around, telling her not to do anything because it might be dangerous. She could see it written all over his face. How was she supposed to be have a great adventure if this big dumb goof was here?
Clearly, she needed to get rid of him, and fast.
She mulled this over for a second, and then she got an idea. Pulling out her best acting skills, she said, rather loudly, "...What is that?!" and stared past him -- between his legs -- with a look of abject horror.
Then, hoping he'd buy it long enough to look away at the source of her apparent distress, she took off running the opposite direction.

Rua raises a brow, recognizing a mischievous pup when he saw one. He thought he might as well play her game. It wasn't like he had anything better to do. He pretended to look shocked when he looked up to see...nothing. He chuckled and looked down when Glory took off running through his legs.
He wagged his tail and turn and gave chase, loping easily with his long legs. He could have caught up with her easily enough, but he wanted to have some fun too. "Come back little Miss! You're so fast!" he barks, his rainbowy tail wagging a mile a minute. Pups were always fun to play with and be around, even if they didn't really want him there.

He wanted to play? And he'd called her 'miss'. Well wasn't that something.
Grinning deviously, the tree-legged pup darted between bushes, scampering with all the speed her little legs could muster. She knew he'd catch up with her eventually, so she might as well make it a challenge in the meanwhile.
Unfortunately, in all her scampering, she neglected to pay attention to where she was going, and promptly ran head-long into a bramble bush, getting herself immediately tangled up in the burrs and thorns.
Yelping, Glory thrashed, trying to get free, finding that in her panic she only managed to make it worse.

Rua chuckled and trotted after her, weaving in and out of the bushes, but getting snagged on quite a bit of the branches. he was used to that sort of thing though and didn't pay it much attention. When he heard the yelp though he sped up and found Glory caught up in thorns. He frowned and stepped forward, his tail flicking. "Hold still little Miss, I'll get you out." He says confidently. He looked at the tangled mess for a moment, then gently began to pull away the thorns and unhook her, but it was going slowly because of her struggling.

If she was all boldness and spunk and bravery a few minutes ago, now she was a pathetic mess. She couldn't help it! The thorns hurt! Also, she was terrified.
So, just as soon as she stopped struggling, Glory Storm began bawling, big loud sobs that would probably attract the attention of anybody within a mile the way she was carrying on.
It couldn't be that bad, but she was working herself up into a frenzy.

Rua clucks his tongue, his heart melting when he saw the young pup start to cry. He gently licked her on top of the head to try and calm her down. He kept working at the thorns slowly and carefully, trying his best to unhook the from her fur without hurting her. The going was very slowly, but he knew he'd get her out. "It's all right little Miss, I'm here to save you. Don't worry." He says seriously and gives a comforting lick every once in awhile. he keeps talking to her in soothing tones, trying his best to keep her level headed. he knew though that anyone would be scared, so he didn't think any less of her for it.

She gave a tremendous gulp and looked up at him with big, watery eyes, an expression that silently pleaded for him to never ever tell anybody about this. Ever. Oh god what if Conk saw this? She'd never hear the end of it!
With that in mind she took a big, deep, steadying breath and tried to force herself to stop crying. She was a big girl! Not a sissy.
She succeeded for the most part, though her lip trembled. Luckily she was mostly out of the bush now, although a few burrs were still caught in her pelt and she was bleeding, lightly, from a few deep scratches.

He sat down after a moment, nuzzling her fur and plucking the burrs out one by one. he was focused on his task and looked at her kindly. She was just a pup after all, so it was all right if she cried. "Shh, little Miss, it's all right. Would you like me to tell you the story of the Unicorn and how he saved my family many moons ago?" he asked between licks and gentle tugs as he worked at pulled the thorns out. He was glad to be doing something good, though, like most of his good deeds, he was the root cause of it. If he hadn't chased her, she might not have got caught up in the bush. But he failed to notice this as he kept at his work.

"Glory Storm," she said, slowly regaining her composure. "My name's Glory Storm. Call me that."
She shivered a little, her skin over-sensitive from all of the scratches, but she was already feeling better. The new wolf didn't seem so bad, though. It didn't even occur to her to blame him for running face-first into a bramble bush. Indeed, she was actually rather grateful it was him and not one of the other pups, because then she'd probably never hear the end of it.
"If you want," she said, then, and tried not to look interested. Unicorns? Please. She didn't believe in unicorns! Wait....what was a unicorn?

"That's a pretty name Miss Glory Storm. Mine is Rua, if you wish to call me that." He murrs and lightly licks her to clean her scratches. Then he steps back and sits down, satisfied with his work. He wraps his tail around his rump and settles down to tell his story.
"One day, many, many moons ago, my family suffered from a horrible sickness. They couldn't find anything to cure it and all seemed lost. So, they sent a brave warrior out into the woods to search for a cure. After many, many days of searching, he found a mythical beast called a unicorn. It was a horse, like a big deer, with a single shining horn on its head." He says and lightly taps the horn pendant on his necklace. "The unicorn agreed to help him, and cut off its horn to cure his family. The brave warrior took the horn back and it cured everyone. To this day, we honor that unicorn by wearing a replica of its horn. It's very important to me" He says quietly. He didn't mention how he was the last of his family and the tradition would die with him if he failed to have any pups.

Rua? What kind of name was that? Her nose wrinkled, but she decided against saying anything. He had, after all, been very nice to her.
That all sounded rather far-fetched, she thought. But stranger things had happened, probably. "What warrior?" she asked, then, because it seemed the right question to ask. "You?"
