User ImageIt had taken time, lots of time. Lots of time awkwardly stumbling around as he learned to fly. Lots of time trying to ignore his sisters' weird antics. Lots of time being a foal but now Rosiotti was a stallion and a damn good looking one as far as he was concerned. And who was he to deny the world such a handsome sight? Every soquili deserved to stand in the radiance of one as attractive as himself at least once in their life, especially all the lovely little mares running around the Kawani lands. That was his plan once he managed to slip away from his family, to spread his brilliance as far across the lands as he could.

The problem was he hadn't come across a single soquili since he left and his patience was beginning to wear thin. He had always heard from his mother that there were countless others out across the lands. So where were they? Where were the mares?! He wanted to find a bashful little mare to make blush or a feisty one that would play hard to get. Any mare that he could sweep off her hooves with his dashing looks and charming smile. Any mare that wasn't his sisters or mother.

Not that he really had any problem with his family. It was just that his mother didn't seem too fond of his flirtatious behavior and his sisters....well, they were just weird. Ailbhe's obsession with biting things freaked him out and Louvia was just creepy with her glowing eyes and the demented spear she always carried around. When the opportunity presented itself, he left them as quickly as possible. There was just too much that was far more appealing out there in the world that he couldn't resist any longer.

And now he was meandering along the coast alone. Good going. Even being stuck with his family was better than the silence he was facing and he refused to resort to talking to himself. He wasn't crazy. But at least the sea was a beautiful sight. Not as beautiful as a dainty mare trotting down the beach, but it was the best he had for now. Watching the waves pull and push against the beach Rosiotti sighed heavily. Maybe it was best he went home with his tail between his legs and hope that his family wouldn't harass him too much.

The young mare picked her way delicately along the coast, listening to the waves crash against the shore, and enjoying the gusty breezes that whipped her mane around. This was the first time she'd ever been to the coast, and it was terribly lovely. She was so used to seeing land everywhere, that to look out at an endless expanse of water was amazing. The crashing waves were hypnotic to watch . . .the constant back and forth of the water . . . the white caps . . the pools they left . . . It amazed her how quickly her tracks were washed away in just moments.

Truly, the coast was beautiful. She had reached the end of the earth, that much she was sure.

Ecclesia was glad to be on her own, at least for a little while. She loved her brother most certainly, but sometimes he was a bit over bearing. Yes, she understood that it was her place to stay at home, but even she liked to get out now and again. To truly live, instead of just watching life pass her by . . . . She knew her place but without a beau, without a family to raise, there was a little more freedom on her shoulders. A freedom she was going to enjoy. Sightseeing never hurt anyone, and it wasn't as if she was the sort to seek out attention. . . .

A small journey from home, that's all this was. She'd return to her mother and fathers side soon enough. For now, it was sand, salt, shells, an endless ocean, and a winged stallion - - - -

Wait.

Ecclesia paused from where she had trotted up a small dune. Sure enough, on the horizon, she caught sight of a large soquili. Squinting, she could pick out what looked to be wings and a very thin tail. Odd . . . but maybe it was just the distance, or perhaps it was finely braided. Either way, he certainly wasn't petite. . . Hnn.

Pausing in her approach, the mare turned to gaze more at the ocean. Well, it wouldn't surprise her that she'd run in to someone along the oceans edge. She couldn't be the only one that was drawn to the water, nor she realized, was her solitude bound to last forever. She'd been alone on her journey for a long time, and while it didn't bother her, she did feel a bit rusty when it came to meeting strangers.

Oh well. Who knew? Maybe he wouldn't even notice her. . . or perhaps he'd leave or ignore her even if he DID spot her. So Ecclesia bided her time, letting fate decide what would become of the winged one.

But, alas, it wasn't to be. The moment the wind picked up her scent and carried it to him, Rosiotti's heart was aflutter with excitement. Finally, another soul! He almost lost his composure in all the excitement, almost whipped around and pranced like a foal that had just popped from its basket. But he was a stallion now. He had to be graceful and majestic, especially if this newcomer was a mare. Calming himself with a deep breath, he turned slowly towards the source of this scent, glad that the wind was kind enough to blow his mane out of his face.

And what luck! The first Soquili he would meet on his solo adventure was in face a mare. A rather cute looking one at that. Of course, his standards for cute were something along the lines of any Soquili with a uterus. But that wasn't the point! The point was that an attractive mare stood before him, so it was time to turn on the charm.

The question was how exactly to use the charm. He wasn't exactly well practiced, in spite of all his confidence. Perhaps it was best to just start off small, act friendly and then slowly slip in the flirting. After all, she could be a crazy, vicious cannibal. But with such an adorable face? No, that was ridiculous! And what was with all this analyzing? Cut to the chase already.

Sticking to his plan, Rosiotti casually walked in her direction, keeping his head held high and adding an obvious strut to his gait, "Hello there!"

Keep it simple. He could always be more forward later, but if he tried it now and scared her off that would be the end of that. And with the lack of contact he'd had recently, he would gladly settle for nothing more than a simple chat, if he had to.

Ecclesia wasn't against meeting others, hardly! She came from a strange mixture of both extreme introversion as well as extroversion. Half of her relatives were insanely out going and even flirtatious! While her mother was much more reserved and quiet. Ecclesia had heard tales of her grandmother, and knew of Luca's history with many great love-affairs. It was who she was, to find beauty and love wherever she could, and to embrace it. . . .

And yet . . . . Ecclesia herself found she couldn't quite walk that way. She didn't think that loving any and everything was exactly the way to go about it. She was saving herself for her own idea of love. Of a more traditional and old-fashioned view . . . Mares were meant to be mothers, while stallions with their strength were meant to be protectors. It was clear to see, at any rate, and she was not one who was going to give her love away blindly.

Oh no.

She knew that her other grandmother, her mothers mother whom she had never met, had done such a thing. And Ecclesia would never do it. So she was a bit of a prude compared to some of the mares and stallions that walked the earth. That was their own business. Thankfully though, she often kept to her own council and didn't often go out of her way to meet others. She was shy and soft spoken, delicate in a sense, and she did what she pleased. If she wasn't quietly lingering at the edge of her families herd, than she was off in her own world, enjoying her solitude.

But for now, there was company. Her ebony eyes studied the form of the strutting stallion. He certainly was hard not to look at, not because he was terribly handsome, but because he was terribly . . unique? He had a very odd color of wings, and was wearing some sort of garb. He had thick fur on his cheeks and the most peculiar sort of tail! He truly was something else, and Ecclesia forced herself to look away so as not to be construed staring.

She wasn't rude, after all.

Dipping her head cordially as Rosiotti hailed her, Ecclesia offered a small, demure smile all her own . "Salutations there, stranger," she greeted before allowing her ebony gaze to catch his own. She didn't know exactly how to progress the conversation. "Enjoying the ocean side?" She questioned softly, canting her head as a gust of wind toyed with her mane and tail.
