He was on edge. And when he was on edge, he got nervous and sought people out to keep his mind otherwise occupied. Dragon riders from Malvren and Trine were missing. No one knew where or when they had gone but wherever they were, P'zul hoped that they were safe.
His flits, blue Kip and silver Zymm, were chattering back and forth to each other. Leave it to him to pick the talker out of all the eggs Ralae and Wykla had offered to him. Just thinking about it made him worried all over again. But he tried to keep his thought quiet as Nnith was sleeping at last.
Zymm spotted a bronze flit flying ahead and a boy with him. Chirping with recognition, he took off with a happy note to his thoughts.

Isdrayon flew just over his head, while Anyang perched on his shoulder and chattered happily in his ear, he enjoyed the chatter, how she had met a blue dragon here and a brown there. Shedrawn was heading toward the transplant area to check on his plant, which he had started with Mercy earlier.
There was a flash of silver and then his bronze was all tangled in another firelizard both of them chattering, whirring, trilling and singing at each other, making a great, confounding crescendo of noise. Anyang hissed pointedly, but was ignored, this made her mad and she fumed on his shoulder, Silver. She pointed her nose in the air and refused to look at the others.
Shedrawn galnced around trying to find the little silver's person. He was hving no luck yet.

P'zul snapped out of his thoughts to see Zymm playing very loudly with a bronze who almost looked familiar. He hadn't been there when the eggs had hatched but Wykla had made a point of showing Zymm's clutch mates to him as they took care of their dragons.
"Zymm! Come here." He gave a short whistle that he had been shown how to do and held out a small piece of meat. Kip chirped and landed on his shoulder, showing what a good flit he was. Laughing, P'zul offered him a piece of meat too. "Sorry about that, I think Zymm knows your bronze. Well met."

"Well met," Shedrawn responded he had finally found the flits handler, obviously it was no fault of the boys that his flit had flew over. Isdrayon would have done the exact same thing. Looking at the size of the flit, Shedrawn came to a quick conclusion. "He wasn't from Cheer and Boreal's clutch was he? Cause that would explain why they know each other." Anyang hissed at EVERYBODY. She HAD been in a good mood, but no longer. "Sorry about that she gets unpredictable with strangers, some she likes, some she doesn't. I think it depends on the mood she is in." He said confidentially to the other boy. "My name is Shedrawn, former Harperhall apprentice and new dragon candidate, owner of Bronze Isdrayon and Green Anyang." The flit settled, he was playing on her "ladylike" side, (more like "Princess") and he winked at P'zul.

"That he was! You must know Wykla or Ralae or both. Zymm did hatch from their clutch and was given to me just after the Hatching. I am P'zul, my green Nnith is sleeping in our cot right now." The former candidate laughed at Anyang's antics as Kip flew up to her and began chittering to her in his off beat way.
There wasn't a single soul on Pern that the blue was afraid to approach. He peered, or more like stared at her, waiting for an answer to his randomness.
"Were you at the last Hatching or did you just arrive? We aren't keeping you from any duties are we?"

" I met Wykla recently, helped her oil her dragon in fact a pleasant girl and a beautiful dragon. Isdrayon comes from great stock. Yes I was at the last hatching and no my duties are done for now." Shedrawn replied.
Anyang seemed to enjoy th eblues randomness and somehow rolled onto her back while she was still on his shoulder, then she chirped at him. Shedrawn raised an eyebrow. "Silly green," he said. Smiling at P'zul confidentially. "Nnith was the drak earth green colored dragon that came out of the prairie egg wasn't she? A very lovely personality if I remember right from the touching. Congratulations!"

P'zul blinked. This boy had to be a Harper or something, he never seemed to forget anything. Kip, by now, had launched into some random story about how he had attacked some random thing and won the day. And been fed. It was a good story if there was food. "Yes, Kameth is hers. I must have missed you at the last Hatching but there were a few Candidates there. Nnith is a darker color green. A lovely girl she is too."
He moved to the side and motioned. "I was walking away from my thoughts and trying to cheer myself up if you can to join me. The recent events here at Malvren and in general have me worried. I have a friend who is missing."
He didn't mean to say that. He didn't do good with the more darker emotions. P'zul preferred to stay light-hearted and on a much more positive note.

Anyang hung on every word of Kip's story. Seeming completely engrosed while Isdrayon listened with only half an ear.
"I know no-one who left but I still worry as well, time being such a fickle mistress, but perhaps there is nothing wrong at all and they are gathering loads and loads of mystweed while we sit here worrying." Shedrawn tried to cheer the greenrider up.
"Afterall there is not much dragonriders must fear, kinda the whole point of being a dragonrider in the first place."

"I am sure you are right and I am worrying over nothing." He smiled and then turned to Zymm who was still staring and occasionally conversing with the bronze. Stroking the little silver's head, P'zul tried to keep the conversation going and on a much lighter note. "So, what did you do before coming to the Weyr? Be honest, with your memory you must be a Harper."

"As I said before I am/was an apprentice harper. Though I probably can't sing any better then you do. I'm more of a piper than a singer, and specialized in pipe making playing and composing music. My memory has served me well, paricularly in the Weyr." he said. Isdrayon was currently telling Zymm how he had fallen asleep in the store room and how Shedrawn had almost looked all night. "What did you do before you came to the Weyr?"

P'zul brightened up. He loved...absolutely LOVED to talk about his craft. "I was a Weaver. An apprentice at that. My whole family is weavers. And tanners and dyers. We have the odd ball here and there who are other crafters. Once Nnith is older, I plan on finding out if I can continue and see if I can get my Journeyman rank. I specialize in patterns and actually making clothes."
He was slightly proud of these just as he was sure that Shedrawn was proud of the fact that he was a piper.
Zymm found it utterly fascinating that the bronze had hid so well. He wondered if His Boy would like such a game.

"Hmm a weaver, perhaps I could bother you to find or make some new shirts for me, mine right now are kinda thin and firelizardy," he held out his cuurent shirt which was indeed thin, nearly threadbare and covered with lizard toe holds, that riddled the interior. "I have a few marks that I have saved for the purpose of new shirts, I was going to wait for the next gather but when opportunity knocks, you know." He was happy to see that the other boy enjoyed his craft.

"Why sure! I don't mind at all! I would enjoy it, I just have to find time to get your measurements and then cut a pattern. Is there any particular style you like, besides loose?" P'zul was almost ready to launch into a lengthy discussion about fabric when he heard a mental rumble.
I itch. Where have you gone? Nnith asked drowsily.
"Oh, Nnith is awake. Would you like to come meet her?"

"Well, I would love too, I love dragons. As to my style, I would say functional and not to flamboyant, with if possible some design in green thread if you could manage it." Isdrayon chirped happily at going to see a new dragon. Anyang was happy just to go along for the ride. Shedrawn was excited too the more people he new in the Weyr the happier he was. "What did you have in mind for the fabric?" Shedrawn asked, sensing with his budding Harper senses that P'zul loved to talk about his craft, and Shedrawn was happy to let him. Shedrawn only wished he had as much enthusiasm for his on craft. He liked piping and harpering but didn't absolutely love it.

"Well, certainly leather. Very soft leather. But you wear it and not even your flit claws can tear through it. Green thread is no problem as well as a simple pattern." P'zul decided. They walked towards the Weyrling Barracks where Nnith was content to be in her bed while she mentally complained the whole time for hers to hurry up.
"I would love to train Kip and Zymm to fetch and things like that. Wykla said she would work with me more. When we are not wrestling our growing beasts."
Just as they entered, Nnith pouted. I am not a beast.
