Laying beneath the shade of a large oak Thesh-ah watched as briallain (shoshwana's little one who after some begging had agreed to let thesh-ah watch her.) milled about looking at flowers and what not. Such a quiet child this was almost like just keeping an eye on a small well mannered adult. Of course after keeping an eye on Blake ( who was an adult . . .just a very mischievous one) watching a hundred young ones would be a piece of cake she was sure.
After some moments she wondered
Were all young ones like this?
She certainly didn't remember being anything like this when she was younger. She was always off in play battles with the males of her herd training to be a warrior or learning what plants to eat for different things. Not to mention constantly trying to strike out on her own. 127 times she had run away from home just for fun.
She laughed a little to her self remembering it fondly every time being found and orders back home by her quite unamused mother and father.
She noted her young charge looking at a milk thistle flower. She hoped the bright little girl before her would never need the knowledge that fallowed but she couldn't resist sharing a little just incase.
"that is milk thistle it with a few oak leaves is supposed to thicken the blood to slow bleeding. Eat it before a fight to avoid weakening due to injuries taken. However Too much by even by a small amount or without the oak leaves to balance it will make you quite ill." she said.
Would she ever get the chance to teach her own children. She thought.

((Flash back post we'll mark where the flash back ends and the rest begins))
Briallan eyed the flower closely with wide grey eyes "I see....." She wiggled a bit, she'd have to remember that for if she ever needed it.. She left the flower to look at something else. It was a pine cone. *Giggling she picked it up and trotted triumphantly back to her babysitter, dropping it at her feet. "Here... you can have it.. It's a pine cone." She beamed surely proud of herself.

Thesh-ah looked at the pine cone for a moment then picked it up placed it onto of her saddle like a decoration.
"thank you honey it's exactly what i needed. It fits just right. Even matches don't you think." she replied getting up and striking a model esc pose with a grin. Then did a fancy trot around in a circle with high steps and a bowed head like she had seen more graceful mares do. Her stride was so smooth that the The pine cone stayed in place perfectly balanced like a tiny rider.
"Now it's almost time for me to take you back to your mommy why don't you go pick her and your sister some flowers for that hair.I bet they will like that." she added giving her a nudge toward a large patch of red and pink blooms.

Giggling she gasped.n "How beautymous!" She beamed at her mother's friend and wiggled in place, wagging her tail as she wiggled. "Alright I'll pick flowers for Winter too.. He'll look so cute with them" She giggled once more and ran towards the flower patch, picking them and stacking them in a pile as she picked. Still her tail waggled as she picked the flowers.

^.^ flash back over ^.^
Present time.
It was snowing lightly makeing the sky a calm blue gray color. Thesh-ah looked back over her shoulder to look at her cloven hoof prints in the snow.
The light airy flakes that drifted from the hevens collected on her mask and vestments like dust ocahinally she would pause and shake them off makeing a small flurry of snow about herself.
Her warm humid breath looked like smoke or steam from her nostrills.
"are we there yet?" rodrick her crow familiar complained from his perch on one of her horns.
She rolled her eyes upward in an attempt to look at him.
"does it look like were there yet?" she asked.
They were standing smack in the middle of a quite open feild surrounded by a whole lot of nothing.
Rodrick grumbled but was quiet after that.
They continued on at a slow but steady pace.

Her foal-hood seemed like a distant memory to her now. Her tail gave a flick as she walked, the snow fell all around her making her look more like a moving glob of snow with rosy cheeks and socks. She almost wondered what this must look like to some one passing by and looking at her from behind. She was entering the open area in order to find some roots to eat. This was a lean winter this year, her stomach gave a rumble as she stopped to look around and make sure it was safe. Spotting a familiar form in the distance, she called out with a friendly whinny. "Hello!"

Thesh-ah lifted her head and winnyied back picking up her pace.
"whhhaaaa!!" rodrick exclaimed as he was jolted from his perch by thesh-ah picking up her pace.
They met near the middle of the open space.
"Briallain?! I thought my comeing to visit was going to be a surprise! Though i will admit im glad i dont have to walk anymore. My goodness look at you all grown up! Bet your beating those boys of with sticks!" she exclaimed Happily kissing her cheek in greeting.
Rodrick finally caught back up.
"oh briallain meet rodrick my familiar." she added.
There was a festivly colored burlap sack tied to her saddle with a small note tied to it saying
"Happy holidays shoshawna and family from all of us."

She nodded a greeting to the crow. "Nice to meet you. Mother's with magic in the den. I came out to find something to nibble on." Giving a small laugh she shook her head some. "But no, I'm not beating the boys away with a stick.. I really haven't seen any.. aside from my brother.. and that's just... yeah no." She chuckled loudly and then noticed the bag. "What's that??" She pointed at the bag with her nose and tilted her head off to the side some.

Rodrick pretend not to hear the girl and flew off to find something to poke fun at.
"forgive him he's . . .well it's probably better that he dint say anything he's not exactly very nice . . .I'm hopping to soften him up but so far its not working. At all." she said watching rodrick fly off.
"what's what?" she asked looking back at her saddle then seeing the bag "-oh I almost forgot this is for you and your family just a little holiday warming basket poet made up when I told her I was going to visit you all. They all say happy holidays by the way. Oh We got another new addition to our tepee as well Reii Yuki a alicorn sweet sweet girl. Found her out in the snow half frozen poor thing. Oh but I'm rambling." she stopped herself and snipped the thin cord tying the bag to her vestments with her sharp teeth.
"hope you like it blake and I collected the apples this fall and poet cut and dried them in the sun for storage. There not as good as the fresh ones but there still very tasty."

She watched the bird fly away and then blinked back at Thesh-ah. "Poet?? Is that you're two-legger??" She tilted her head off to the side. "You speak to it?? Mother said they couldn't speak our language.." She had seen two-leggers when she and her sister had taken a small trip with a newer herds member to find them. though she hadn't gotten too close to them.. nor did she attempt to speak with one. This was all quite interesting news to her. Still she took the bag and rested it on the ground so she could talk. "Thanks I'm sure all of us are getting tired of eating dry stored up grass..." She gave a small smile.

"Yep thats my two legger its a she and as for talking to her. well im fairly certain she understands me and I understand her well . . .most of the time. Should take you to see her sometime I think you would get along swimmingly." she replied in a sightly amused tone.
"Store grass is kinda wearing on my taste buds as well." she added with a sigh. "tough winter . . .it will be over soon enough though I wager."
Looking up Into the sky. Her journey had taken her longer than she had intended if she wanted to make it back before dark she would have to get moving soon. She gave a shake to rid herself of the snowflakes that were collecting on her like dust.

"Me? Meet a two-legger? N-no, I'm quite alright not knowing them.." She flighted her ears some, following Thesh-ah's gaze to the sky. "Looks like night's coming upon us.. You planning on staying the night?" She glanced back to the other mare. It wouldn't have been a inconvenience, after all the herd was an excepting one, welcoming all who would pose as friends.

"their not half as bad as you think they are and a great deal better as well." Thesh-ah advised "one of theses days you should give meeting one a try." she added then shook again
"no I'm afraid not. Though thank you for the offer i just came for a quick visit and to drop those of with some happy holiday wishes. They need me back at the tepee as I don't think Blakes back and well Reii can't see trouble unless it bites her. Then again she can't really see much of anything poor dear." she said with a slight laugh. Just then Rodrick landed on her horn once more.
"later toots." he called roguishly.
"rodrick!" Thesh-ah scolded shaking her head to silence him. He flapped and gave a small squak to signal he had learned his lesson then went rather quiet after that.

"I see... Well I'm sure you're is dandy and all.. who knows maybe some time I'll change my mind and meet one.. but for now I'm fine..." She gave a small smile. She watched the bird return and perch back on Thesh'a's horn. His remark wasn't as harsh as his first one had been but then again.. the other mare had said he was a bit... rude... "Well I guess I won't keep you any longer.. I wouldn't want you to be late and them worry about you. I'll be sure to give your regards to my family." She nodded and picked up the bag once more.
