Dolc'eva stared at the sky. The night was dark around her, but she couldn't sleep. Instead, she had resolved herself to counting stars. It was an odd pastime, maybe, but it kept her busy while her mind raced and stopped her body from sleeping. Eva had plans, for when she was older, millions of plans. Things that would make her famous within the rogue lands. She would never contain herself to one pride, her fathers words echoing in her head in disfavour of prides. She wouldn't be a pride-goer, ever, but she didn't feel like she was missing out on anything by not being part of a pride.
She liked being rogue. She liked walking. She liked being part of a family. She glanced towards her slumbering family, and shifted, getting to her feet and moving further away, murmuring under her breath as she counted. She knew better than to walk too far from her father, so she drew to a stop by a nearby pond, resting next to it's edge as she continued to watch the sky.

 Nulis woke up when he heard feet moving around. He was sure it was one of his cubs. Maybe one of the younger ones. He open one eye and saw sweet little Dolc'eva walking off. Now where was she going at a time like this? He let out a soft yawn and shook his head softly. He sat up and making sure he could see where she was going. Ahh the pond..maybe she could not go to sleep..he wonder. He pick up he tired feet and slowly walk other to her.
With a soft yawn he said "Now Eva what are you doing up at a time like this?" He look at her with loving eyes and smile.

Dolc'eva startled as she heard someone approach, turning to face the other figure. Her ears dropped a little as she spotted her father, half expected to be scolded for sneaking away, but he simply asked her why she was up. She smiled back at him, moving over to cuddle up to his front paws. Well, Eva would never say she wasn't a daddy's girl! She adored her daddy.
"I couldn't sleep, Daddy," she said sorrowfully, leaning back and staring up at him. "So I came out to count stars."

He say his bum down as she cuddle up to his arm. He smile at her. He wasn't mad at her, he was just glad that she didn't go far away from the family. He nuzzle up to her cheek and lick her nose. He flick his tail and grab a piece of wheat from the ground with his free paw. He put in his mouth and started to chew on it.
"I reckon ever'boby can't sleep once in while. Now no reason to look so sad baby gal." He said as he nuzzle her head. He never like seen any of his gal sad. He then he went on "Seein stars hmmim. y'no I use to do that when I was a young'n. My Pa use to tel me about them star y'no. Yo'wanna hear them tel that i know?" He look down at her with a loving smile.

Eva was pleased when he sat down, chewing lazily on the piece of wheat he'd plucked from the ground. That meant he wasn't going to go back to sleep soon, at least. Perhaps he planned to count the stars with her? She smiled up at him as he spoke, and nuzzled back affectionately. She was the luckiest girl to have a male like her daddy be her father. Very lucky indeed.
"Really?" She questioned. She hadn't realised her daddy did the same thing as a cub. "Yes please! I'd love to hear what grandpapa told you," she enthused. She didn't know her grandfather, obviously, but she was still a curious soul and wondered what her father's pa had to say about the stars. She did so love the stars. She sighed and leant against her father more, relaxing.

Nulis look down at her then back up. He point to a bight star that was to left of them and smile. He remember when his pa told him about this. "Now Eva yar See that bight star over yonder? Well I reckon that big call Tainan. It was use by them o' walker like me self to what way to go and see! I reckon that why it so Bight." He said as he point to the next star next to Tainan. He flick his tail and went on "Well one next yer to Tainan is call Lehmen And what I be told that it blue! Yer see it was made blue by the God of colors! Yup! He felt that yer star need fell better cus it next to such a bight one!" He laugh and look down at her and ask "Well you wanna know what happen between Tainan and Lehmen? He laugh with joy, hoping she said yes. He all ways love this story that his pa told him and he hope she would to.

Eva listened in fascination as her father spoke, leaning up against him and taking comfort in his presence while listening to his story. It was great, she thought, happy to have some connection with her father's father, even if it was only through the stories her daddy would tell. Family was important to Eva, even the ones she'd never met before.
She nodded eagerly at his question. "Yes, please, Papa!" She told him, eager to hear the story. "I want to know what happens between Tainan and Lehmen!" It was already so interesting. She hoped nothing bad happened between them, she was a sucker for happy endings.
