Soldier Virgo was a busy bee.
Not with Captain business; but just with keeping-up business. Those Crystals, mentioned by Chibimoon... apparently both of them had gone to the Negaverse, which was about as good as... well, something that wasn't very good. She considered it quite terrible, deeply horrid. What were the other senshi doing? For that matter, what was she doing? She hadn't even seen either of these Crystal events, and she had to find out exactly what was going on with it.
Maybe she could find someone who could tell her about it, was the thought as she trawled Destiny City. None of the Zodiacs she'd talked to had been anywhere near it, as far as she knew. It was a little harder to reign them in than she'd accounted for; her respect for Hero was growing. She missed the authoritative Zodiac, a little more deeply than she'd ever expected to.
Still, she couldn't brood on the past. Hero would want her to move on, to see if the Space Cauldron would bring the lost back, if it would grant them a third and last chance... and, of course, to protect her most beloved Princess. "For the Princess," she said to herself, leaping off a building to land neatly on a patch of clear ground.

Sailor Themis also had things to do.
His tasks certainly couldn't compare with Virgo's, though - more... simple things. Patrol. Deal with youma if he came across any. Look for anything that might be odd, just in case... More distant thoughts of work the next morning. Themis had a team, but he didn't lead it - thankfully did not lead it - and even with that fact he was alone that night, hopping from rooftop to rooftop with a greater ease that he had once had.
A shape jumped from a building on the other side of the street, and Themis paused - this wasn't a normal human, that much was certain - and so he stayed still, and felt it out. Sure enough, the figure down below radiated energy, bright like a shining star - the kind of energy he'd felt in every senshi that he had met so far.
It was only when he was certain of this fact that he jumped down as well, and got a better look at Virgo - she seemed... different, somehow. "Care for a patrol partner ?" It was safer in numbers, he knew, but he didn't always sync times with the rest of the Basterds.

She turned to look at the new arrival, bright eyes instinctively sharpening at the dark colors of the coat. Then her gaze caught on the tiara, the sailor collar...
Well, Zodiacs didn't really look particularly senshi-tastic, did they? She folded her hands in front of her waist, chafed them to restore a little feeling to them. "You're a White Moon senshi," she said after a moment, and leaned forward to inspect his brooch. It didn't suit any she'd seen so far, but that didn't mean anything. She straightened, and then smiled up to Themis. "I like your tie," a little shyly, because even if she was a captain of a team, she was still Elke.
"Okay," she agreed, having thought about it. It couldn't hurt and could help! "I'm Captain Virgo, of the Zodiac Guard. Under the Princess Chronos. My sphere is Innocence. What's your name?"
Her smile was warm and welcoming as she offered a hand to shake.

If Themis noticed her initial reaction to him, he didn't show it in the least. How had no one truly mixed him up for a negaverse agent so far was probably a mix of energy signatures, tiara, and pure, blind luck.
He rose an eyebrow at her first statement. White Moon Senshi ? Oh, right - there were other kind of senshi, technically, or at least he loosely recalled from the only meeting he'd been in. The one he'd moped right though. Yeah. It was sometime hard to remember, given that all of the senshi he had met so far where also white moon... or at least normal as far as he knew.
"I am." He answered then, with a nod, trying not to look as clueless than he usually was. At the mention of his tie, he grinned. "Thanks !"
Thankfully for him, Virgo seemed more than willing to fill his mental blanks. Zodiac Senshi ? The name Chronos also rung a bell. She taked at the meeting, hadn't she ?
"Im Themis." He shook her hand then. "Senshi of Noise." No captain, no super, no eternal, nothing, nada. He felt a little plain in comparison.

She smiled at Themis. The name was familiar... maybe it was somewhere inside the Surrounding? It could be. Everyone had been taught the major centers of their sector, back in their original life. In Arista's life, but Elke and Arista were one, so--
Didn't matter. She reached over to straighten his collar, almost maternally. "Let's go, then," she said, and she started walking in the same direction she'd been roof-hopping. There were so many things she could ask a White Moon senshi, especially if they were an active one. But Themis hadn't said he was super; she looked at him a bit critically. Not Super, and not Eternal, since he didn't have the wings or the transparent bow. So no bets on where he was in the rankings, whether he was new or old or just waiting for a guardian cat to notice he was ready.
Still. She was powerful. It was her duty to make sure he was okay. "Do you have a team, Sailor Themis," she asked, because that was the first order of business; "How long have you been awake? Is there anything you need to know?"

Themis let her fuss with his collar, though it did catch him a bit off-guard - probably hadn't even noticed it needed fussing at in the first place. When she moved, though, he followed without even a word of protest. They were probably here to do the same thing, and safety came in numbers, even though he still often set out on his own.
Then the questions came. "I do have a team, but everyone's busy tonight." Bell was still working things out with Ainsley, Tallulah and Jaimie were probably somewhere together, and he had no easy means to contact the others. "The Basterds. We deal mostly in information-gathering, or at least Europa does." He just kept his eyes open and reported anything that might seem relevant. Or at least tried to. Mostly he just blew youma up.
Her other question was a slightly harder one - not because it was complex, but because it already felt like he'd been doing this for much longer than he actually had. "Somewhere around... mid-october, I believe ? Definitively october."
Yep, still a baby senshi, as far as power levels went. "Do you know if any other crystals have been spotted ?" He asked her. "There was the one at the halloween ball, then one at the wrestling event... Do you know of any more ?"

She tucked the name Europa away. It would be useful to have a contact among the moon senshi who could keep her in the loop about what was going on, senshi-wise. Virgo could do many things, but she couldn't be in many places at once. Not as many as she needed to be. "Good," she said, "Try to be more careful, okay? Never go alone. Especially when you are so new! It's really not so smart, okay? And we have to be smart."
Okay, so it was almost Christmas, and that was almost three months since October. But all the same, she'd never gone out on patrol alone when she was that new. It just seemed unintelligent.
Maybe he'd been on his way to a meeting? It could be. But he'd mentioned everyone being busy, so. "Why would you pick a cuss word for your team name," she asked, a little confused. It seemed a little counter-intuitive. She wouldn't even know what to call them when discussing them with the Princess. Maybe... Ah. There was something there. "Is Europa your leader?" Certainly not very classy to name her team something you couldn't say in polite conversation!
"I actually don't know much about the Crystals," she said, "I haven't been exactly as active as I should have been." And her tone was one of deep and abiding guilt at that, wasn't it. "Other than the ones you just told me about, I'm aware of no others." A lie. She knew of the Opal Crystal, but that was not one for others to take. It already had a bearer: It was the Princess's.

This wasn't the first time he'd been told exactly that. It really wasn't, and Themis was aware of the danger he was putting himself in. Things could go wrong very, very quickly, but as he juggled work and school most of the time, he often patrolled earlier or later than most of his team did. As far as he knew, he and Bell where the youngest.
"It's a movie reference." He laughed, but not in a mocking way. Personally he saw nothing wrong with it. "She is the team's leader, yeah. She makes pop culture references all the time." They were also like brother and sister, but he saw no need to say that. Keep personal life out of the workplace, and all that.
"Hn." Was his answer to Virgo's statement about the crystal. "It's been some time... Someone at the meeting said there was 7 of them, right ?" And they had no way to know when they would show up... Bothersome indeed." Not that Themis would have been interested in taking a crystal that already had a bearer - hell, he wasn't really out for a crystal of his own, simply out for crystals on the senshi side - the negaverse already had two too many.

Come to think of the meeting, wasn't Europa rather vocal at the meeting? Virgo herself had been a little bit distracted, looking around to see who was there and who was missing, seeking out her team. There had been fewer Zodiacs than she'd hoped present... maybe they were just all off on vacation at the time.
She'd hope for that.
"Oh," she said, smiling a little nervously. Maybe it wouldn't be such a good idea to meet with this Europa. Perhaps she should tend to her own team first.
She caught herself thinking that, and scowled. What kind of attitude was that? Tend to your team first, yes, but make time to find people who can help you tend to your team!... while not giving away that the Princess was vulnerable.
Virgo sighed. "Seven rainbow crystals," she emphasized, hopping onto a bench in her way. "It's pretty annoying. Hopefully it'll get easier to keep track of them, though, as more appear."

"There's gotta be a way to track them." He mused. "I mean, they give off a lot of magic, right ? Surely that has to be traceable somehow ?"
Themis had reached for the side of a building without thinking much about it, and then started to jump his way to the top, using trash cans and window ledges to follow him. He didn't like being down in the streets unless he had to fight in there, and he just assumed Virgo would follow him.
Their subject of conversation, after all, was much better held outside spaces where curious ears could pick them up.
Once on the roof, he waited for her to get there before continuing.

Virgo scaled the side of the building quietly and quickly; she was fast and agile, due to small size and her daily run around the Meadowview track. Experience let her pluck her way up by protruding bricks, rather than risking exposure with the window ledges. She slid, carefully, onto the rooftop behind him.
"Not until they're seen, it seems," she said, frowning deeply. "Each of them has appeared unpredictably, haven't they?" She had certainly never received warning of any of them appearing, and she had been keeping her eyes--and ears--open. Very open.
At least no one seemed to know about the missing Opal. That was good. It was as it should be. "Where are you staying," she asked after a moment, "I'll walk you home."

"As far as I know, that's the case." And it was Themis' turn to frown. This definitively wasn't convinent. At all.
He turned to survey the area where they had come from - nothing down there, youma or otherwise. "Not too far away from here, a few blocks at most..."
He nodded once, then jumped to another rooftop carefully.

She followed, minding the ice carefully. Though she hadn't really acquired any new information--aside from the name of a possible Moon Kingdom contact--it was important to start building bridges to non-Zodiacs. It was something she'd done before her coma, and something she needed to maintain. Even amp up, if she could...
"It's so quiet," she observed as she landed near Themis. "Is your district usually so quiet?"

"It tends to be." Thankfully, he couldn't help but think. "I've yet to run into a youma here..." Well, now he'd probably just jinxed it ! But no matter. "I think I might not be the only senshi living near here... I just don't see the negaverse avoiding a part of the city on purpose." No, that was downright silly.
That the youma and agents were picked off before his patrols, however, was a whole other story.
"So... Im sorry if this sound stupid, but... Basically, your zodiacs are a team, just named after zodiac signs rather than asteroids and stars ? You feel... different, just a little bit." Given the question, he'd just proved that it was completely unlikely that he knew anything about the opal crystal and it's disappearance.

Virgo nodded, pausing on the lip of a building. If there were enough senshi here for one to have never encountered a youma in this area, then it meant that for sure she would be returning to try and build more bridges. It was important--to the survival of her team. To the protection of the Princess, who, with the increased presence of the past within her, Virgo was willing to kill for. It hadn't been so long ago that the Zodiacs had been charged with protecting everyone inside the Silver Millennium from outsider threats--from Chaos. It was only fair now that they help fight their own battles. And if they wouldn't...
Once, Libra had spoken of trying to suborn White Moon senshi and turn them away from their leadership. That had been a different time, when Virgo had been more naive, and she'd insisted it hadn't been necessary. Now, with the increased presence of violent, vicious senshi, the Captain wasn't so sure.
"My Zodiacs," she said, in the tones of a question. Then there was a smile on her face, warmth suffusing her expression. They were, weren't they? Her and the Princess's Zodiacs. Their family. "We're different, yes. Once, long ago, we protected this system from Chaos... we had no planet, no place, like you did. Now, I suppose we're here to show you White Moon senshi the way."
She looked around, spotted Grayson's building; her smile widened. "If you ever need a hand, you should go to the third-floor window on the west side of that building," she said. "Sometimes you can find me there." She hopped across the gap between buildings. "Good night, Themis! I hope I'll see you again."
With that, Virgo was gone.
