Tabi'Nasi was wondering just how she was going about things wrong. She was still feeling a little lonely, something she never liked to admit about herself. The lioness was getting along fine with her fellow clan members, but that wasn't really enough. No one she could call a friend. Perhaps it was time to lessen up, to stop being such a...hard a**. The grey lioness let her paws linger around the borders of the Ela'wadiyi lands. She had no interest in leaving, but it was an idea she enjoyed flirting with. Where would she go, though? No pride that she had come across was as interesting as the Ela'wadiyi. With a concentrated look, she continued to wander.

Slowly the lion came to a stop, the scent of many being carried by the winds, making him fully aware that he was close to another prides territory. It was tiring for him to say the least, constantly moving from place to place in order to keep feeding him and surviving, but he would never complain about something like that. No… No pride would suit him after all. Or at least that was how he felt.
However, to say the lion was antisocial and leer of others was an absolute lie. If anything his being alone constantly was driving him crazy. Even after the small time sex, the brawling with other lone lions and the occasional fight with buzzard… none of that truly drove out the loneliness, only aided to it.
Taking in a deep breath of air the light colored lion sighed heavily, releasing his thoughts into the winds. Things would look up, they always did eventually.

An ear twitched. "Mmm?" Tabi felt like ignoring it, but being out on the borders made her a little more wary than if she was in the heart of the pride. Glancing up, she caught sight of a form moving around out there. Not wanting to stray from the border (though it offered zero protection, with no one else immediately around) she watched with curiosity as he, with the ever obvious mane, didn't appear to make a move in either direction.
It did make the lioness stop her aimless wanderings, however, and turn her full attention to the stranger. Though she herself was an ex-rogue, as many of the now-large Ela'wadiyi pride was made up of, she still felt a little surprised to see a rogue. It brought back a flood of memories, and reassurance that she never wanted that lifestyle again.

Ears flicked back at the sound of another’s voice, but his body continued to stay still, feeling the wind in his mane. He decided he would stand like this for a little while longer, before greeting the unfamiliar character. Perhaps he could even gather some information on the pride he was dangerously close to. Maybe even find a decent meal to enjoy.
Taking another deep breath in, he filled his lungs full, slowly letting the crisp clean air out. It tasted nice, unlike the salty sea waters his father enjoyed, or the muddy, dusty earth his mother seemed to love.
“I don’t mean any harm; that I promise.”
He spoke softly, kindly, as he turned towards his company. His eyes glittered as his mane blew softly towards the left side of his face. So it was a female that he was sharing the same area with. Already he felt somewhat at ease of the fact.
“I do hope I am not intruding… I am but a wanderer passing through is all.”

Her ears flicked as the wind tickled them. Intrigued already with his manners, she offered him a polite nod when he approached. He seemed truthful in his promise, though one could not only weight them on their words. Intent was the most important.
"You would never intrude upon these lands unless you wished harm on them," she said with a soft smile. "The Ela'wadiyi are quite welcoming, though our current leader can be a little wary of strangers at times." Ah, to see Tawa'di as his old self again. Can't live in the past forever.
"If you merely linger here for the moment, however, nothing with happen." She chuckled. "Not that it would, but...well, Skan can be jumpy."

Taking in the beauty that was before him, Arlo move an inch closer before stopping. Tracing the lioness patterns with his eyes a small smile formed. They were fun to look over, softly colored and simple designed, but suited her perfectly. Looking back up at her eyes he smiled.
“I do appreciate the gesture, and I can assure you no evil intent is in my mind. Heck, I am still little leery of being on the boarder of another’s pride like this."Stopping for a moment to catch his thoughts he began again. “My name by the way, is Arlo’Reeshin, it is a pleasure to be in the company of someone such as yourself.”
Bowing to the lioness at the end to show respect he picked up his head and looked out into the distance, where he assumed the pride might be. She had called it the Ela’wadiyi, whatever that might mean. To say he wasn’t interested in the pride would be a lie however. Looking back at his company he took a seat, listening intently as she spoke.
Why would the leader be wary of strangers if the pride was welcoming of them? Frowning a bit he decided he would ask the strange the reasons behind this. Nothing becomes wary of another without a reason.
“Is there a reason behind this? It would be a shame if someone broke trust with what I assume to be a welcoming area.”

She offered a polite nod to him, grateful for a name and not merely thinking of him as 'stranger'. "I am Tabi'nasi," she answered as was only polite when exchanging names.
Before she could really think of what to mention next, as she assumed that explaining the clans might be a little much at the moment, he had a question of his own. She nodded, understanding from a stranger's point of view how puzzling it must be.
"The reason is one that no one surviving remembers, except maybe one or two. Long ago the Ela'wadiyi were driven from their old homelands by a large group of lions they had taken in. They brought illness with them, shrinking the numbers of the Ela, and in turn these strange lions drove what Ela survived out. Skan's father remembered this, and told the story to everyone as merely a word of caution as well as part of the history of the pride. Skan took it much more seriously than his father expected." She took a breath. "So while strangers are welcomed, it is safe to say that they are watched carefully, if only to make sure their intentions are good."

His eyes glittered happily with the exchange of names, taking hers in quickly as though it was a precious gift. To him in truth, a name was like a gift. You had to be offered a name in confidence, a sign of trust almost.
"Tabi'nasi..." He smiled as he said it, it was fun, pretty even. "Beautiful."
His full attention was on Tabi'nasi, interested in the reasonings behind the 'paranoia'. Illness, loss of homelands, and death. All due to too much trust in another group of lions. His eyes teared a little, thinking of the serious nature and the awfulness that most certainly came from those events.
"I can understand what Skan had. Hearing that... it is awful. To think of all the lives lost.."
Staring down at the ground he let the thoughts circle through his mind before finally drifting away to the back of his head.
"Thank you for sharing, Tabi'Nasi."

Tabi only nodded. "I haven't been here for a long time, only a little over one turn of the seasons, but it is comforting to know that even if my blood doesn't originate from here, care is still taken seriously for the safety of all."
She glanced over him, intrigued that he seemed so interested. She was not used to strangers caring about the history. Usually they only craved a safe place to rest at night, and an almost certainty of a full belly when it grew empty.
"If you care to, I could be an escort of sorts if you're interested in learning more. I'm certain no one would mind too much, as long as everyone around you knows your intentions."

With this new bit information Arlo visibly perked up. She had not been part of the pride and only recently came to it. Perhaps then they wouldn't mind allowing him to stay near the edge, if only until he could recuperate from constant traveling.
"May I ask where you might be from then, Miss Tabi'Nasi?"
Bright blue orbs stared directly into her murky, green-gold, happily taking in every word she said, and enjoying the idea she had came up with immensely. Picking himself up, he quickly nodded, looking out towards the trail she had came from.
"I would be most interested in learning more. This place... it truly does interest me."

Tabi just smiled. "Just an ex-rogue. I have a sister I left, but that was after I knew she had a mate that could take care of her. We were never really meant to stay together." Tabi took the time to pause, debating on what to do next. It was one thing to offer being an escort, but it was another to follow through with it.
"A lot of history comes with these lands, and while I'm certain I could tell you a few stories, perhaps some of the far back history should come from those born here. We will find out soon enough, no?" she asked with a playful smile. "Starting in the Shadow Clan, where I live, might be a good place to start. We can see if there's something to eat, and show you the river that keeps us from being thirsty."

He looked to the ground for a moment, remembering his brothers and sisters that he too had left behind in order to find his true home. It made him sad in a way, but he knew they too were looking to find their rightful place in the world. All of them were scattered, but the main thing was they were safe, he could feel that.
"I too have family I have left behind on my travels. I know in my heart however that they are all fine." Looking at Tabi, a soft smile fell on his face. Maybe one day they would meet up again, him and his family.
Ears perking as she spoke he listened intently. They would learn from the older members of the pride about what had happened, and why Skan is now leery of rogues. Already his spirits were up, and she seemed rather excited about the whole thing as well.
"Yes, exactly! They might be able to tell me more." Moving closer to her as she spoke of her pride and food and water made his body almost ache. Yes, being rogue was hard when food was hard to find, but was it alright for him to sponge off of them?
"I appreciate the gesture, is it alright though? I rather not leech off of such kind lions."

Tabi smiled coyly. "I'm sure they wouldn't mind at all. Some of us like to share with strangers more than you might think."
She was already starting to like him. At least he had some brains in that skull of his. Perhaps she would indeed look outside of her clan more often than she had before. She fit into Shadow quite well.
"If you follow me, I would be happy to introduce you to our leading family of the Shadow Clan."

“Then I shall gladly accept your offer.”
Moving up next to her he waited for her lead, heart racing with excitement. This was a new place to explore with new stories to hear about… and perhaps a new home. Feeling the wind push its way over his mane he felt goose bumps raise on his skin. What was this other feeling inside him? Glancing over to Tabi he grinned, trying his best not to look odd in his musings.
“I would gladly meet the leading family. Just promise me you will teach me how to not make a fool of myself.”
A big grin passed on his face as he winked at her; hinting that his comment had been more of a joke than an actual request. He had faith that she would help him, especially after her offering of shelter and food.
“Oh and Miss Tabi'Nasi.” Cyan eyes locked on hers. “Thank you.”

"Now why would I let you look like a fool?" she said with a smirk. She couldn't resist that little jab. "I'll do just enough to make you look wet behind the ears, but not so little that you'll trip over yourself. Besides, I don't think you could find a nicer bunch of lions than those in the Ela'wadiyi."
She flicked her tail, ready to go, when she was a little surprised at how forward he was. "Oh. You're welcome. I'll warn you that their niceness does rub off on you." She smiled, interested to see how Arlo would take to the pride.
