"Finally, some grub!" Taalis squealed as the herd of zebra dashed off into the distance from the commotion she had stirred up. It had been all morn since she has eaten, nothing but the coconuts upon the beach shore and a small savanna rabbit that unfortunate to run into her. The afternoon was slowly creeping on as the sun reached its zenith in the clear sky, a long day ahead of her for her search and it wouldn't be too long after that before she crashed in her den again when the moon took over the sky.
Just a way up the sea shore, along a shallow river, Taalis caught herself a meal in what seemed to have been ages of stalking in the tall grass. Luckily, she inherited much of her mother's color to hide properly from sight.
Looking down at the poor thing, she smiled and nodded. "Thank you, I hope you taste delicious," she mused to herself before sinking her claws and maw inside.
Down by the watering hole, she lazed, watching the herding mammals get their mouthfuls before their migrations across the river further north. They were in no harm and they paid her no mind. All was good for the time being. A short rest from the sun was necessary.
