It was a little lonely without Star around anymore. Keena sighed, her small shoulders slumped where she sat on a downed tree, her golden eyes sliding over the wide expanse of world before her. That young lion and his brother had come to take her baby girl away, and though she was happy that Star was with a mate and had a home, she still missed the little white lioness. And now her kittens were all grown up too. All of them! Jari, Cari, and Chai first, though thankfully Jari was still around now and then. He visited as sporadically as Kisun did though, and Kisun had always been very sporadic. But now the second pair of kittens had gotten big, and while she had no desire to keep them from growing up to see the world, she missed seeing the little gray and blue stripped fluffballs around.
She hadn’t often felt lonely before. But then again, she’d never had a huge family before. With the leopard Dysi who’d been a good friend to her, Kisun whom she loved like a sister for all other predators thought their relationship was bizzare, and all of her precious little babies… Now all of them had finished getting big and being by herself felt oddly.
“Maybe someone will visit soon,” she mumbled to herself, the usually sunny feline looking more than a little downcast this morning.

Izdihar trotted proudly through the plains, a small hare clutched in her mouth. It had been her most successful hunt in a while. Probably the biggest one she caught (which really wasn't that big as she wasn't a great hunter). She jumped around like a cub, unable to hide her glee and immense proudness of herself.
While on her way to find nice shade for herself, she saw another lioness, hunched over. She immediately stopped smiling, approaching the other slowly, placing the hare slowly down on the ground before talking, "Is something wrong...?"

Keena's golden eyes had turned to the clouds above after a time, her old pastime drawing her back as she seemed to have less looking-after to do now. Somehow that made her feel old, for all she was still a young adult. Star had been almost grown when she became the youngster's mother, and hares grew oh so very quickly. It was possible for them to have grown without making her 'old' but the way that her family seemed to no longer need her to be their mommy-
"Oh!" she choked, having turned at the sound of footsteps to see another lioness. With a dead hare clasped in her jaws! She was asking if something was wrong, but Keena barely heard her as she sprang to look at the, to her, tiny body. Not Kisun. Not Jari or Cari or Chai. Not Euclisies or his sister... "Thank the gods," she squeaked, letting out a heavy breath before looking up at the stranger with a small smile.
"I'm sorry, I thought you'd caught one of my kittens for a moment. But no, nothing's wrong so much as...well. They all got big," Keena explained sadly, her ears laying back. "And now I'm not their mommy anymore. And they...they all left..."

"Your kittens?" she tilted her head, "Oh you mean this?" she poked at the hare. She was pretty proud of it. Though, Izdihar was pretty confused about the whole kittens bit. Was this lioness a caretaker of hares?
She sat down next to the lioness, a small smile on her face, "Well...I'm sure they'll come visit you right? That's what all kids do." Izdihar looked at Keena, as her tail thumped the ground once, "Don't be so sad! They're still your babies...they...just live faraway from home that's all." She really wasn't the best to console others, but she didn't like it when others were sad.

"Yes, my kittens, only not that one," Keena clarified, in her mind, brightly as the other lioness moved to sit beside her. "I'm sure they will. Kisun and Jari already do. But it's not quite the same," she tried to explain. It wasn't as though she liked being down about it. "I am happy that they are happy," she announced as loudly and clearly as possible, before turning to smile at the lioness who had come to keep ehr company.
"Besides, it's hard to be lonely when there's a friend nearby, right? And a stranger is just a friend I haven't met yet. My name is Keena, let's not be strangers anymore!"

It took a moment for Izdihar to understand what Keena wanted, and it suddenly dawned on her that the other lioness wanted to be friends. She laughed aloud, smiling brightly at the other, "I'm Izdihar! It's great to meet you Keena." She cast a glance at her meal, realizing that Keena might not want to eat it as it might probably remind her of her children. Still...it didn't hurt to ask...right?
She nudged the hare over to Keena, an inquiring smile on her face, "Would you like some...?"
