Just know that if these 'plans' of yours brings harm to either of my friends, there will be hell to pay.
It had been a number of weeks since Halloween and at least one after Shun had spent some time attempting to cheer Mitsu up. By no means had he forgotten the threat he had issued to Desmond and ever since the incident occurred, he had been wanting to follow up. His night with the girl had only increased his resolve to do so. The in-school suspension made it tough, but as time went on, he quietly kept an eye on the vampire to get a feel for what his schedule was like.
While he knew the guy went out into town some nights, he decided to make his move closer. So late one night, when all but the insomniacs were asleep, he snuck out of his room and out the dorm wearing relatively darker clothing. He had a hood up, but he wasn't overly concerned with keeping his identity a secret; it was just there in case some staff member saw him from afar. Locating the window into the vampires' room, he went on to enter through there.
Within a few minutes, he was in.
Thanks to a small spell, he was able to see fairly well in the dark. Colors were washed out somewhat, but he could tell what was around him. Both boys appeared to be asleep, but only one was his concern. Stepping over towards Desmond's bed, his eyes narrowed and he could feel some of his pent up rage begin to bubble up. Normally when he approached someone like this, he sought to kill, but that wasn't the case tonight. He wanted to beat the vampire within an inch of his life if he could.
Now he was well aware of the strengths that a vampire possessed, but he had just the thing in his arsenal that could level the playing field, if for a short time. He wouldn't use it just yet though. With a sneer, he reached down for Desmond to try and drag or throw him off his bed.

Even weeks after the incident, Desmond's sleep had been rather strained. The only nights when he got any real sleep were the nights he had a full stomach from trying to eat away his sorrows. Tonight had ended up being one of those nights, though his dreams certainly weren't going to cooperate with him. "Mitsu..." He mumbled softly as Shun yanked him off his bed, immediately waking him up just before his back met the ground.
A gasp escaped his mouth as the air was knocked out of him, blue eyes desperately searching the figure in front of him. Why the ******** would someone bust into his room in the middle of the night? Who was stupid enough to try and break into the den of lions. Balling up his fist on the ground, he hopped to his feet rather quickly to throw a punch to the gut of his assailant. Hit first, ask questions later.

Hearing Desmond murmur Mitsu's name only spurred more anger in the assailant. Even while be aware of the strengths of a vampire, Shun still didn't quite expect the other to recover so quickly. Taking the brunt of the blow, he staggered back and doubled over. It had hurt but he wasn't going to be backing down yet.
"Dreaming of the pain you've caused her?" he hissed under his breath.
Figuring now was as good as a time as ever, he reached into his pocket, though a little shakily to withdraw one of his knives. It wasn't meant to be used against the vampire though, as much as he'd like to stab him repeatedly. Instead, he swiftly sliced his left palm, letting the blood flow. Quickly he murmured the incantation for the spell he had in mind, knowing it probably wouldn't be long for Desmond to smell the red fluid.
The first thing he noticed was the pain from the cut and from the punch had vanished. No, he hadn't healed at all. The spell simply shut off his ability to feel pain during the time it was active. Dark wisps could be seen eminating from his body in general as well, as both his strength and speed were increased to his body's potential.
Putting the blade away, he let out a breath and suddenly rushed forth at Desmond to try and punch him right in the face.

That one question caused Desmond to falter, his guard automatically dropping. Though he didn't automatically recognize the voice, the technique spurred memories.
It was Mitsu's friend, Shun. The look of surprise and anger was quickly replaced with sadness and submission, remembering perfectly what the boy had said that night prior to the "grand finale".
As Shun lunged toward him, Desmond simply stood there, taking the blow and stumbling backwards until his back hit the wall. It was like he'd shut down altogether. He didn't say anything to try and stop the assault. This was only half of what Desmond deserved.

The punch connected very nicely and as satisfying it was, Shun saw that Desmond didn't bother trying to move out of the way. What the hell had gotten into him? He had almost been certain that the scent of blood from having to cast the spell would make him come after him more. Narrowing his eyes, he wasn't sure if the vampire was up to something, but if not, he wasn't about to let up because the other wasn't putting up a fight.
The boy also didn't care if the noise ended up awakening the other vampire in the room. He'd take them both on if he had to. Quickly moving towards Desmond, he launched two more punches at his gut before bringing his knee up to hit the same area.

Desmond had actually filled himself up before venturing to sleep, so as nice as the blood may have smelt, his desire to feed was outweighed by a full stomach and a good dose of sadness.
Though Shun seemed intent on ending that. The punches were of course a direct hit, a painful groan escaping his mouth before the knee came in contact as well. Without much resistance to his collapsing legs, Desmond slumped over to the floor clutching his stomach, vomiting up a small amount of blood onto the clean carpet.
"I know..." Desmond tried to speak, his voice hoarse from the small beating he'd just received. "You don't owe me anything... In fact, I owe you and Mitsu the world.. Right about now..."
His eyes stared into the puddle of blood, reflecting a deep despair from their depths. "But... She's gonna be okay, right? You're taking care of her, aren't you?"

Shun paused momentarily as Desmond spoke soon after the scent of blood wafted in the air.
"I am doing... everything I can to hold her together, but even that doesn't seem to be enough to heal the wounds you have caused her," he growled lowly while reaching down to lift him by the collar. A part of this he had to curse himself for as he was unable to give the wolf-girl anything more than friendship and possibly the occasional night together.
In his rage, he attempted to throw the vampire to the other side of the room, something that should be relatively easy with his temporarily increased strength.

Desmond closed his pained eyes as Shun spoke, his worst fears realized.
As he was flung to the other side of the room, the vampire crashed through the closet door with a loud bang, the hinges giving way to the force.
But he didn't try to get up. He laid there like a battered rag doll, emotional pain outweighing the physical by miles. His eyes slowly opened, staring straight forward, but not processing anything he saw. "Thank you.. For taking care of her." Desmond practically whispered, his soul writhing as he forced those words out.
He wanted to be that person. So badly. The envy he had for Shun was deep, and he didn't even know the extent of the boy's 'helping hand'.

"Someone has to," he hissed with the anger apparent in his voice. Did Shun care that Desmond was having an inner conflict at the moment? Not at all. The vampire could burn in hell for all he cared.
"Nothing. Nothing I've done has kept a smile on her face," he added as he approached the fallen vampire. Straddling over Desmond, he started to strike at his head and chest repeatedly, trying to let out all his frustrations out here. No amount of pain he could cause to the guy would be enough to the assassin though.

Desmond was almost in disbelief at Shun's words... Because it had always been so easy for the vampire to make her smile.
loud thuds rose from the vampire's body as Shun attempted to beat him to a bloody pulp, meager cries of pain escaping from his mouth.
"Did you try..." Desmond's voice was strained now, his body crying out as he tried to keep talking. "Telling her... How beautiful she is? Or how she's the only genuine person left.. in this cold world? If... If you say it... And mean it... Then... I bet she'll smile." How he hated giving advice to the man who could potentially steal away the only woman he'd ever really cared about.
No... He wouldn't be stealing her. He would be winning her fair and square...

"Once. Either she didn't hear me or she pretended to not have," he replied, glaring down at the beaten down Vampire, "The happiness never lasts. She may smile for a moment or so but there's always that shadow of pain in her features."
Balling his fists up tighter, he looked as if he was about to strike at Desmond more. However, his eyes soon widened and his froze as pain suddenly jolted through his entire body. Gritting his teeth, he doubled over, confused at what was going on with him. The spell's effect had ended and now his entire being felt like it had been stabbed with a thousand blades. Seeing how he had only taken one punch from Desmond, the spell itself had to have been the cause of the bulk of the agony he was now in.
"Sh-shiit..." he hissed, tasting blood in his mouth as well. His father had not told him about this aftereffect of the spell when he had been taught it. Most likely the damn b*****d had kept it a secret should he end up using it against the old man.

"You've... You've gotta keep saying it." Desmond painfully spoke, confusion now side by side with the emotional pain as he saw Shun double over without so much as a pinch. He really didn't know what was happening to the guy, and he wasn't about to ask. Instead, he stayed where he was, though he didn't suppose he'd be able to sit up after the beating he'd taken.
"Anyways..." He started. "You're talking like you want me to do something about it... I can't take back what's happened... And since neither you nor Riyo want me around, there's nothing I can do to make it better... And I'm not going to fight either of you... Already the bad guy. Don't need to be the arch enemy..."

Coughing up a bit of blood, Shun winced and slowly stood up. He needed to get out of here. Staggering back towards the window, his movements were stiff as the full body pain nearly paralyzed him. He heard what Desmond said, but he had nothing to say in return.
The vampire's words went along with his frustrations at the whole situation in general. By no means did he want him anywhere near Mitsu; he had lost his right to try and comfort her in his opinion. At the same time, he felt like he was failing with getting Mitsu out of her hole.
Shooting Desmond one final glare, he weakly climbed out the window, practically tumbling out of it, leaving the vampire to spend the rest of the night in the closet beaten up.
