This year, the festive spirit comes to Daemonheim in the form of Thorvar Crittersmash, a suspiciously jolly man who’s trying to bring Christmas cheer to his fellow Fremennik. He's sweet talked the Queen into allowing him use of her beloved Land of Snow as the venue for the Heimland Games: a suitably tough display of Fremennik strength, and certainly not a cover up for a Christmas party.

There's just one problem. When Thorvar went to Daemonheim to gather the Fremennik who have been battling away in the dungeons, he lost the equipment he needed for the games! You’ll need to head into the special Christmas dungeon and make your way through a series of challenging rooms in order to save the day.

Adventurers brave enough to face the icy depths of the Christmas dungeon will then gain entry to the Heimland Games, reachable through the Christmas cupboards set up in Lumbridge, Draynor, Varrock and Falador. You can return to the games at any time from then on to participate in festive Fremennik activities such as ranged snow pelting, ice skating (or "sharp blades of death" as Thok calls it) and seal belly-races.

You’ll also be rewarded with an emote that should gain your approval, a souvenir from the games and an accessory that may leave you feeling a little crabby!

I'm actually kind upset about this - not everyone likes dung D: so why make an event based around it? I guess I'll have to wait and see how interesting/fun it is.

Thanks to all of your support and votes, Jagex was once again named as the Golden Joystick UK Developer of the Year. In commemoration of this, and as a thank you to the entire RuneScape community, we’ve created a new in-game item that’s available to all players: the golden hammer.

The golden hammer is a wieldable Smithing hammer, and can be used anywhere a normal hammer can be used – on anvils, on a POH workbench, during quests, etc. This will free up one more inventory space for Smithing enthusiasts, making room for an extra metal bar per anvil trip. When wielded, you can also right-click on the hammer to perform two new emotes (one for each year we’ve won the Golden Joystick award).

To claim your golden hammer, you’ll need to first get a golden cracker and use it with another player. If there’s room in your bank, you should find your golden cracker there. Otherwise, you can head to Draynor Village and get one from Diango.

This is actually really cool. Whos planning to open the cracker or leave it as is? I think I'll leave mine as is for now biggrin

If the events being in rooms the size of the rooms in Daeonheim count as being related to Dungeoneering, then I guess it is. lol
