Senero was carefully arranging herbs that morning. It was quite early, simply because it was quieter in the mornings and even as a cub, the youth had appreciated silence more then noise. Now, training to become a Commisceo for his house, Dolosus, he was careful to study only in the mornings. Of course, sometimes he would leave the general busy areas of the pride and find a quiet spot to study during the day ,but it was simply easier to study at night. He murmured the names of herbs beneath his breath, touching them with the pads of his paws, but careful not to touch the poisonous root before him, in case he didn't wash his paws before eating next and ingested some of it's dangerous flakes. He shook his head, glancing up at the sky which was turning a girlish pink and orange as the sun rose, warming the cold landscape. Well, the pride would be waking up soon, he realised, with a frown. He returned his gaze to the herbs, determined to get as much information from them before people started getting noisy and distracting.

Safuraa was pacing too and fro. The Patch of moss had been torn away by his angry claws at least an hour earlier. He just couldn't make his mind work. He, of course, did well in his house. Fasa's mind was flawless thus far. But did he really want to be under the same house as his mother? His mother who tortured his beloved father in such a way. He couldn't make sense of anything right now. He could ask someone.. but who? Fasa, who normally gave him advice was busy with his daughter and he couldn't very well go to his mother... But he also had siblings... He paced once again, claws tapping against stone angrily. He would just look for one of them...

The pride was waking up, Senero thought sourly, watching people start to rise. He quickly swiped his herbs together, mixing them up in a bundle. It wasn't a smart idea, he knew, but it would give him practice later to separate them out into the proper groups again, he thought. He wrapped the bundle in the large plant leaf he carried for just that purpose, still careful to avoid the poisonous root. Tucking the leaf beneath a bush that he used to store things, amongst which was drying herbs which needed constant aeration, which the bush's spindled branches were useful for. He stretched, a yawn creeping out almost without his permission. He had been up for hours by that point, his eyes were half-lidded as he moved towards the nearest source of water. He would nap that afternoon, before staying up later that night so that he could study again in the silence.

Safuraa kept walking, slinking like a ghost across the ground despite the shock of flamboyant pink that gave away his position. He sighed, coming across no one for a moment. But then he saw a blueish figure. Senero? It had to be - Senero was the only one with such a uniquely colored pelt in the pride. His brother... he came from a house his mother called weak due to their lack of fighting. He didn't believe that though. He couldn't believe anything bad of his siblings at all. "Senero?" he called out softly, hoping his brother would hear him.

Senero had lowered his head to drink, almost stumbling – but he didn't. He was stronger than that – in his own exhaustion. He jerked upright when he heard a voice call softly to him, and for a second, he glanced at the water as if something beneath it had called to him, but it soon clicked in his tiring mind that it was simply Safuraa, somewhere behind him. He glanced up and back over his shoulder, easily spotting his brother by that bright tuff of pink fur. He never had problems finding him, since it was nearly impossible to miss that colour. “Safuraa,” he called back, his voice naturally quiet. There was no happy tone to his voice, or a spark to his eye, but he was pleased to see his brother. He simply wasn't that emotive. “You are up early.”

The white cheetah almost winced back. Perhaps it wasn't a good idea to bother his brother - he seemed tired. Still, he inched forward at the sound of his own name in return. "I never went to sleep," he admitted, shifting on ghostly paws. He was unsure if he should continue. There was too much on his mind for him to even consider sleeping. "I... have too much on my mind, I guess," he watched his brother carefully. He would leave if he was being a bother, though it was hard to tell with his brother's apparent lack of outward emotions.

Senero's mouth quirked slightly – only slightly, and barely noticeable to those who had not spent time with him before. He had pulled all-nighters too, and the morning after was usually a curious blend of hyper-activity and sudden, often random, bursts of overwhelming need to sleep. Not always a fun time, however, the cautious way his brother approached, and his words had captured Senero's attention. “Do you wish to go somewhere more private to talk, Safuraa?” He asked coolly. Many pride members would flock to the water soon, and if Safuraa truly had something on his mind, then this was not a good place to talk.

Furaa gave a shy smile in turn at the small quirk - he could see that his brother was tired, but... he really needed someone to talk to, and Senero hadn't pushed him away. "That... that would be nice," he agreed. He glanced to the water, already seeing one or two figures coming to get their first drink of the morning. He moved a bit, wondering a place they could talk, but his mind couldn't provide a place "Do you know any places," he asked though his head was slightly turned in embarrassment.

Senero hesitated. Of course he knew of places. He often left the busy pride to hide away in little quiet areas to study, but did he really want to show them to his brother? He supposed it didn't matter so much. Safuraa wasn't loud or unruley and probably wouldn't bother him too much. “Yes,” Senero said to his brother's question, moving passed him and motioning for him to follow. “One of my study spots,” he explained, as he moved swiftly from the water, keeping his head down so that no one would spot him and call out to him. He wasn't well known, but he still didn't want any house-mates drawing him away when his brother needed him. It didn't take them too long to move to where he had wanted to be. A quieter spot, away from the main areas, but not too far. It was surrounded with bushes, which housed his herbs and such. He settled next to an root which poked from the ground, proving a comfortable place to rest. “What is on your mind?” He asked his brother quietly.

Safuraa quietly followed his brother to his study spot, jittering behind him. He was having doubts if he should tell his brother what was brothering him. What if he laughed? He was well aware that his troubles may seem silly to others, but they were quite important to him. But... Senero wasn't like that. He hesitated, sitting just inside his brother's study area, and wrapped his tail around his paws. "I was... having doubts about where I was placed," he mentioned softly. "I don't... I don't know. I can't figure out who I am," he spoke with a slight edge of panic to his voice.

Senero frowned. He had expected something dire, like he was dying or something he could assist with. Senero, while not a healer, knew herbs enough that he'd be able to fix minor ailments, but here it was simply a matter of the mind, not a body matter at all. His frown slipped though, revealing the blank expression once more, but a slightly softened edge to it. He knew his brother would not have brought something up if he thought it insignificant. Doubts, emotions, and things like that were simply something Senero was not used to dealing with. “Why not move?” He asked. “Examine the other houses and see if they suit you better. Adolescence is a confusing time, finding who you are is not an easy task, especially if you feel restricted.” Or so people told him. Senero felt as if he had been born old. Frightfully old. He had known what he wanted to do, where he wanted to be, and it all seemed rather...boring now. He almost wished he'd had a teenage crisis like his brother had. At least then there would be some interest.

"Is it really that easy?" he asked. Especially with his mother as his head of house. "Would mother even let me?" he wondered aloud. She had chosen him to sort of follow in her footsteps even though he hadnt been named Prefect. It frightened him and it was daunting. "What if I don't fit anywhere Senero? I'm not really good at anything - I'm not good at speaking, and I'm not... I'm not smart," he admitted. "But I'm not brave either," it was hard to admit all his faults.

“Life is as easy, or as complicated, as you make it, Safuraa,” Senero said quietly. He peered at his brother. He had very little love for his mother, personally, though he admired her ability to take advantage of a situation. He had little hate for her either, he was instead just rather indifferent to her. “Do not ask her. Tell her. She can only stop you if you let her stop you,” he said, before pausing, annoyance tugging at his thoughts. He sounded like a philosopher. Useless drivel. “If all else fails, just do it without her knowledge.” She would find out eventually. “Not all skills are so easily categorized, Brother,” Senero spoke up again. “I am not brave, nor social, but my desire to be alone allows me to focus on my studies. It is all how you look at what you have. You will fit in somewhere. Perhaps it is not where you originally thought, but your skills will be useful somewhere.” He tilted his head to the side. He wondered if his brother had ever considered going rogue. If he felt out of place in the pride, perhaps it was simply the pride, not him, that made him so out of place.

Safuraa thought for a moment, wondering if what Senero said could be pulled off. He tilted his head. "Perhaps... perhaps you're right," he said with a tilt of his head. "I guess I need to branch out more..." He gave a smile to his brother. "I'm sorry for bothering you about... about something so trivial," he murmured the apology shyly. Perhaps he would try what his father did first. Of course, Mother would be pissed if she found out.

Senero, had he been a normal male, probably would have smiled reassuringly at his brother, said some sympathetic words, or something similar to that. He wasn't normal though, and he did wish that he could offer him support, but he didn't know how. “It was no problem, Sufuraa,” Senero assured, his tone as flat as ever but his words honest. He hesitated, before offering, “if you need to speak again, you are welcome to seek me out, or if you simply need to get away from the pride, feel free to seek out this area again.” He was reluctant to offer up one of his study spots to his brother, but he understood the need to get away from people, but not for the same reasons. Senero felt no confliction about who he was, but if he could help Sufuraa a little, perhaps the lack of absolute isolation was worth it, in this one spot. He had other study spots, after all.
