PERFECT FIT
by BlueFheiry
A Twisted Ending
Midnight clock kept on chiming
Castles grew dim, disappearing
A prince is in search to find his beloved true
By the perfect fit of an abandoned shoe
Fair prince searched far and wide
And alas, a hope to find his Bride
After a servant girl opened the door for him
And let him in to find his Princess he's searching
[Prince]
My Love, I have searched by land and every line
To touch your hand and keep it mine
My heart distressed to be left by this lonely piece
A shoe that once caressed your lovely feet
While we danced into eternal night through the mist
My Love, can you tell me-- could it be we finally meet?
[Cinderella]
My Sweet, she can never be me
I should've been your princess, but can never be
For my feet never deserved to step into your palace
The shoe which housed my dreams and wishes
My lonely heart shatters, why did she took my place
I should've been the one who delight your heart with kisses
[He]
Dear Lord, could she be my Princess
The only one, I shall take to be mine forever
Upon her pearly feet, it gently fits
By the grin of her face, I feel to ponder
Have I truly find my Princess, my One Love, my Life
Shall I take her mine, and ask her be my wife?
[She]
How cruel your heart, dear Prince, I cry and lament
Haven't you known me by the brief moment of our shared wonder
How can you not see me through my servant's garment
And be blinded by the measure of a shoe seeming to fit another
As you bend to see, it perfectly fits a woman that's not me
I stood behind her, wished it was me with you, or can we never be?
[He]
Come, my Princess, make me live again and never leave
Never shall we ever part again, I'll chain your heart to mine
By the fit of my Love's shoe, I have found you, I believe
For now, the missing piece of my heart is fine
We shall dance in the night, like we did lovingly before
And give you all treasures, and happiness upon your door
[She]
Begone, my Prince, we shall never meet again, how shall I live
Now I reckon your heart so shallow, for you never truly found me
You gamble our love by the fit of a shoe for it's your relief
Is that how you measure your love for me too, for this I see
She maybe on my shoes but she can never be
Your truest heart's desire, your living fire, for she is not me
[He]
My Princess, trust the coming days of our lives be sweeter
My kingdom shall be yours too, as my life is yours too
I shall shower upon your head all the freshest flower
I shall be your Prince, protect you from all trouble
Boldly I fight to keep you safe, my Bride
I lay before you my life
[She]
Is this how you promise, blindly you please
With every word you tell her, my heart is pierced
Never would I ask for a kingdom, I just wish to have you
Let me perish, no one to shield me from your arrows
Of those sweet promises you told her, should've been mine forever
If only you see it's our hearts that fit, had you only look beyond her
Gaze mesmerized by awe, the prince took his princess
The one who's feet suit the crystal glass shoes walked so bliss
Leaving behind a servant's girl, her treasure robbed
By another lady masked to be the Prince's love
The short-sighted Prince and her lady ride far away into the night
And from there, left poor Cinderella out of their sight
If only Prince's heart measured more, and Cinderella has said what's right
Then their true, lasting, unconditional love could have come to light.
