xxxxxThe sun had only just set, and the air held a stagnant, chilled feeling. Small flakes were falling gently to the ground, only to add to the ever growing pile that was place on the ground. Daintily, Gwenliana's bright, luminescent eyes fluttered open, catching flakes. Gazing around, she realized she was falling, ever so slowly towards the ground. Oddly though, there was not a single thought of the impending death in her head, merely a repetitive "How beautiful this snow is." The fall, quite frankly, felt oddly natural to her, as if she had done it all her life. Perhaps, indeed she had.

xxxxxGracefully, she tiptoed across the air, as though a platform were below her- though none was to be found. Performing moves she did not even know she knew, Gweliana fancied herself being one of the falling snowflakes, and for the time being, she was. She twirled stunningly, until finally she reached the climax of her decent, and landed softly on one dainty foot, onto the snow covered ground. It was soon followed by a second foot, which then transformed into a handsome pirouette. Gwenliana glanced around searching for just where she had landed, for at the moment she had no idea. As she spun around, small flurries danced off her fluttering skirt, only to fall, just as she did, to the ground.

Lumiere always had tea in her garden around evening. The weather wouldn't deter her-- Even during winter, it had been kept reasonably warm so that the plants wouldn't wither and fall to their deaths. But when Lumiere walked in, the with customary snacks and a small ornate tea jar with an ornate design, she felt a chill hit her inside of the garden.

A chill? Impossible. Not with the closed hanging garden-- the only entrance was the sky. High walls hung around the colorful garden, standing proudly over any intruder that dared to enter from the sides. An exclusive key was held only by the gardener and Lumiere herself.

She walked on the straight path to see .. something. ... Or was it somebody? Irate that her teatime had been so rudely interrupted by this intruder, Aeria walked forward, blue eyelashes lowering to identify the mysterious woman. "May I inquire on your entrance into my garden?" Lumiere asked, her voice at medium volume to arrange the woman a distance away from her. Upon closer inspection.. Was that woman.. strangely a shade of icy blue?

xxxxxGwenliana turned around quickly at the sound of another's voice. Was it another dancer, like herself? Alas, it was not, it was merely a small child, with flowing, beautiful blue hair, who was holding a dainty teapot and inquiring about her reasons for being within the high walled garden. "Is this your garden? It's very lovely, dear." she said, her words coming out like tiny, jingling bells. As she spoke she reached out to touch a flower, only to find it covered in snow in less than a second. "Oh my, the poor flowers, let me brush this off" she spoke quieter this time, for only herself to hear. With a quick sweep of her hand, the snow was brushed away from one flower, but now covered two or three other flowers. "Well this won't do at all" she muttered. She realized now that moving the snow would do no good, so she twirled around looking for some way to remove the snow, or warm the flowers. As she spun, even more flurries danced onto the floor, which was beginning to form a small pile at her feet.

xxxxxShe now glanced back at the girl, and frantically tiptoed in place, for there was no shovel, nor any type of heater around to help the dear plants. She worried that the flowers were getting too cold, and was afraid they might soon whither. "E-excuse me miss! Yes, miss! I do believe your flowers are chilly ... do you maybe have a blanket? They look ever so chilled. I hope none of them will catch a cold!"

Apparently, the .. woman meant no harm. Lumiere's guard relaxed slightly, walking up to the table that sat in the middle of the garden. She was setting the objects down on the table, her arms emptied of the various objects. She stood up, her hand took the other's wrist gently to lead her towards a chair. Lumiere walked to the snow frosted flowers, one hand cupping the bottom while the other delicately brushed the frost from the petals.

"No harm done. They can handle a little cold. Can't you?" Lumiere's hand cradled the flower's petal in an affectionate matter. The pink petals swayed in the slight breeze, almost as if nodding. But to Lumiere, it was.

Her attention to the flowers and sincere emotions touched Lumiere, offering a soft smile to the other. "You don't seem to have purposely intruded. Would you care to enjoy a cup of tea? It appears that I might have to provide iced tea." She took the opposite sea at the tea table, two empty saucers and teacups sat on the table.

"Today is white tea infused with mint. I do hope that it might be to your liking?" She gestured to the teapot, a cup of ice set to the side.

xxxxxGwenliana shuddered with happiness when she realized the girl was not going to be mad at her. She watched as the girl carefully brushed off the snow, as though it were no trouble at all. Gwenliana glanced down at her hands and wondered why it had been so difficult for her. There was a pinkish flower nearby her, that she secretly reached out to touch with a single, slim finger. The flower was instantly frozen from root to stem. Letting out a quiet yelp, she returned her hand to her chest, instantly regretting the action she had just carried out. She attempted to steal a glance at the girl, in case she had been caught her in seemingly foul deed, but the girl seemed rather preoccupied by the flower she was now caring for.

xxxxxAt the girl's comment, Gweliana replied, "Is it cold? I really don't feel anything. It seems rather pleasant actually..." Her voice dawdled off as she puzzled through this new installment. As the girl set up the cups and teapot, Gwenliana continued to puzzle over her strange words. Tea? What in the world is tea ... perhaps I shall just reply smartly, so as to not seem ignorant. With this thought, she nodded and replied curtly, "Y-yes, I would like to enjoy a cup of tea. And no need to ice it. J-just give it to me how you drink it." She attempted to sound brave, but Gwenliana feared it might not have come off as intelligent sounding as she wanted it to. "And mint is quite alright," she said, now gaining courage, "I like it any way you care to serve it!"

xxxxxShe daintly tiptoed over to the table, pirouetting as she sat down in the chair. As the girl gestured to the cups, she realized neither had been introduced to the other. "Oh my, I have been terirbly rude," she said. Politely, she stood up and formed a crude, unrehearsed curtsy. "Pleased to make your acquaintance miss. You may call me Gwenliana," she smiled with these words, waiting for a reply.

Lumiere picked up two cubes of sugar, dropping it into the other's cup. She poured the hot liquid smoothly into the cup with expertise, picking up the cup to set it closer to the other.

She approved.

She had manners. Check. She had a graceful air about her. Check. Beyond that, she seemed to like tea. Check. One could add that onto the fact that Lumiere allowed the snowdancer the rare privilege of joining her in her garden. That was even excluded to her mother-- Not that Ms. Ailerion had the time to join her daughter in such 'tedious' activities, as she termed it.

She stood to return the curtsy, gesturing for the other so sit. "I'm Lumiere of the Aileron Family. Here's your tea." She offered to the other, filling her own teacup.

"Might I inquire about how you entered? You're a welcome guest but.. humanely, it isn't possible to get in here without triggering the security system."

xxxxxGwenliana quite liked this strange girl. Although she seemed a bit stiff in her movements, she had yet to complain nor anger at the snow dancer's odd habits, and as such, Gwenliana was intrigued by her actions. As the girl gestured for her to sit, she took her place in the small, delicate chair that lay in front of her. Though she felt rather stiff sitting, rather than standing, she smile gently, as though to put on the air of a queen. Quite soon, the girl began the process of tea pouring.

xxxxxGweliana was fascinated. She watched very carefully as the girl poured and mixed and moved various objects and liquids from one place to another. It seemed like quite a bit of work for a simple beverage, but of course, Gwenliana was not one to comment on such matters. As the cup slid towards her, Gwenliana began to have second doubts. Perhaps the liquid should poison me? Or what if it tastes horribly bitter and I must fake crude politeness? she thought. Luckily, the girl had begun talking again, so as to fill the time before she needed to take that fateful sip. "The Aileron Family? I am afraid I do not know them. Are they quite popular?" she questioned, with a quizzical look on her face. All of these terms and definitions she simply did not know. She tapped her hands on the table and as she did so, small snowflakes dispersed from underneath her fingernails. Small patches of ice began to form near the tables edge with each tap, though Gwenliana payed it no mind. For her it felt like nothing had happened at all.

xxxxxAs the girl continued to talk, she stared upward to the ever changing sky. The snow had now let up a bit, but was still continuing to tiptoe down through the air, only to land softly and delicatly on the plush blanket below. Again Gwenliana worried that the flowers might be cold, but Lumiere made no movement to help them, so she figured that it was not socially acceptable at the time. Lumiere was now silent and looking at her for an answer. Shocked out of her stupor, Gwenliana replied, "How did I get in? Well I remember falling. Oh but it was quite nice. Like a dream really. You should have seen the snow as it fell! I danced with it and ... oh it was all so nice. Perhaps we could trickle across the sky together sometime?" Was it normal to dance in the sky? Gwenliana realized she had no idea what was customary in this strange place.

Lumiere sipped at her drink, setting it down gently on the ceramic as she addressed Gwenliana's questions. Apparently, it had no harmful effect on this lady that sat in front of the snow dancer. She seemed to be considering her words before she spoke, glancing down at the snacks. "The Ailerion Family.. is just one of the many families that reside in Destiny City. No more or no less than any other resident you'll meet." She shook her head, stirring her tea to take another sip.

The dancer's actions weren't commented on but they didn't leave unnoticed. Lumiere was discreetly watching the movements with a fascination, a furtive smile curled behind the teacup's side. The way that the other described her descent was enchanting. It also confirmed Lumiere's suspicion-- that the female wasn't completely human. (Of course, the icy trail would lead to that conclusion but Lumiere wasn't one to assume.) She chuckled, shaking her head mutely.

"I'm afraid, your flying capabilities don't extend to me. They seem to be exclusive to your kind, regretfully." Lumiere spoke with sincere emotion, thinking that it must be quite the experience to fly.

xxxxxWatching Lumiere take sips of her drink, Gwenliana soon began to worry that her lack of sips were being taken as a sign of rudeness. She simply continued the conversation to keep her from taking that potentially dangerous sip. Lumiere continued to talk about her family, but Gwenliana was so focused on her lack of tea drinking that all she could stumble out was, "Well your family sounds very pleasant," which was a rather dull sentence to her.

xxxxxAs Gwenliana told her apparently tall tale, Lumiere began to giggle quietly. Though puzzled, Gwenliana decided not to comment on it until the time was right. However, no comment was ever made, as Gwenliana learned that in this place, no one could fly. One thing did catch her interest though. My kind? Am I ... different? she thought. Looking down at her own self, Gwenliana thought they were quite the same. They had fingers, and toes, and though Gwenliana was quite a bit paler, she also had skin and eyes.Sure, they were a bit denser than Lumiere's entanglements seemed to be, but they were the same through and through. Through this examination she also realized she had been created tiny ice patches (though they were more like ice swatches by now) and immediately ceased her action. Very curious indeed.

xxxxxGwenliana was going to question the girl about this apparently overwhelming difference, when she realized she still had not taken a sip of the tea. Worriedly, she put her health behind her and reached down for the cup. As the steam reached her face, she could feel tiny sparks on her skin, like tiny needles. Of course, Gwenliana had never had tea before, so she simply assume this experience was what happened when one drank tea. She gave panicked glance at Lumiere and then put the warm liquid filled cup to her lips. The hot liquid touched the very tip of her tongue, and Gwenliana let out a yelp and dropped the cup. Completely embaassed she stood up and blubbered out, "Oh my word, I am so sorry! I didn't mean to, I swear! I just ... it hurt so I ..." She was at a loss for words.

Lumiere watched the snowdancer carefully as she sipped the tea, her reaction jerky and the liquid spilling onto the ground. Ordinarily, Lumiere might have been rather annoyed but this wasn't quite an ordinary case. Immediately, Lumiere knelt to the ground, using a handkerchief to pick up broken pieces of ceramic.

"It's fine." She spoke, repeating it, emphasizing her words. "It's fine, Gwenliana. I suppose hot tea simply doesn't go well with an icy element." At this point, the mess was almost gone, the remainders left in a trashcan placed under the table. "Perhaps iced tea would really suit you. But if we're talking about iced tea.. this tea would be better. Please jsut seat yourself again for a few minutes."

With this line of instruction, she turned her back towards the snow dancer to take out various items from her fridge. Lumiere seemed to repeat a tedious action, pouring from the teapot through a strainer.. Finally, the last step was on the ice cubes in a cup.

With that, she laid a cup of iced tea in front of Gwenliana.

"I hope that might be more agreeable?"

xxxxxGwenliana stood gaping at the ground as the hot tea melted the snow that was beneath it. Strangely enough, Gwenliana wasn't worried about the spill so much as she was the snow that was being melted. It all felt rather sad to her, though why exactly she could not tell you. As the girl picked up the pieces, Gwenliana gently put flurries all over the spot where the snow had melted, and quietly said, "There, all better dears, no need to cry." The sight must have looked terribly odd for any outsider, but Gwenliana didn't care. Her snow was in danger, and it was her job to fix it.

xxxxxEven more odd though, was Lumiere's response. She showed neither anger nor sorry, simply answered that it was okay, and that tea didn't mix with an icy element. Icy element? Lumiere thought, Well that's odd. I suppose she must be referring to the snow. It did melt rather quickly with the snow.. It seemed many things in this place were far too complicated for Gwenliana to understand. Politely, if not a bit cautiously, she said, "M-my, are you quite sure? I mean ..." she then recomposed herself and said, "Well if you're quite sure, thank you very much madame."

xxxxxAs the girl pulled more ingredients out of a box, Gwenliana wondered why she even had tea ingredients stored in this garden. But then, perhaps that was custom. As she poured the tea, Gwenliana was even more fascinated than the first time. She loved watching the intricate motions, even if Lumiere seemed more than a bit bored with it. When the new cup was handed to her she politely sat down once again, fluffed out her skirt- causing more snowflakes in Lumiere's poor garden- and then sipped out of the cup. Hesistant at first, of course, but when she realized it was quite tasy and wouldn't hurt her anymore, she began to gulp it down as greedily as one looking dainty could. "Oh my," she gasped, "tea is quite good!"
PostPosted: Sun Dec 26, 2010 12:39 pm

The action Gwenliana did was strange. But not foreign to Lumiere. From this she had accurately deducted and confirmed suspicions of Gweliana. A snow fairy-- an unusual visitor to have. Almost impossible for the world outside Destiny City but .. as for inside Destiny City?

Such a case would only classified as the term, unusual.

She gave the other a smile, their mutual enjoyment of teatime drawing an elusive mood from Lumiere. Her hand reached forward to withdraw a biscuit from the basket of snacks, her other hand laying the cup down on the saucer. Both females would spend some more time, discussing topics of Destiny City and sipping their teas and snacks, before Lumiere was forced to exit due to the late hour. After all, teatime could only go on for so long before an actual meal had to take place.

(I hope that you dont mind that I wrapped it up on my side? O: Feel free to leave it or give a wrap on your side!)

(( no worries, I'll finish it up here too~ ))

xxxxxGwenliana politely returned to her previous demeanor- one of poise and delight. She watched as the girl took a biscuit, and though her curiosity was overwhelming, she decided not to take a snack, for fear that something else might go wrong. She had learned her lesson in pride from the hot tea.

xxxxxAfterwards, both ladies simply talked politely, as though they had been friends all their lives. Gwenliana gave her input, though sometimes she did not know quite was she was talking about. Still, it was all good fun for her, and she learned quite a few things. For example, right now she was in a garden, and a place called Destiny City. It was politely to put your hands in your lap, and elbows were never permitted on the table. All of this Gwenliana took in, nodding and smiling as Lumiere carefully explained things to her.

xxxxxBut unforunately, Lumiere had to excuse herself. Gwenliana was rather sad to see her go, but offered her a small present of sorts in exchange. Gwenliana reminded her that whenever it snowed, she would be there in one way or another. Smiling, she then exited the garden, and twirled off, looking for another person that was as kind as Lumiere. Perhaps she could even find someone who could dance through the air with her! As she danced off, tiny snowflakes were left in her wake, just as when she had first fallen.
