Classic stuff from Stephen Colbert. I'm an on again off again viewer of his show and the Daily Show, but he's always been spot on with the religious commentary.

OMG!
I love Colbert, but I didn't see this one... I think it was his best rant ever... and indeed, he's hit the mark. LOL

I don't like Comedy Central in general, especially the political comedy shows.
But Jesus would be considered a liberal before He would be considered a Conservative.
However, I don't think Jesus would be either. He would be independent, touting His place is under God, not some side that thinks they're right.

I love his show and the Daily Show. I saw this a while back, and it made me laugh so hard.

That's why I try not to get wrapped up in who Jesus would vote for, and think more about who I would vote for. Which, given my opinions about American Politics, is usually nobody.

Yeah, the election that we could vote for Gore or Bush, I ended up writing "They all suck!!!" across the box...
This last election, I ended up writing in some famous fictional person on the blank line they provide in our district... I just can't remember who.... I know it wasn't Mickey Mouse, but it was based of that idea. LOL

I live in Utah. Voting is pointless, Republicans always win by the largest margin. I only bother for the "I voted" sticker so I can get the free ice cream at Dairy Queen.

I am loving this. Satire is truly a gift of the Lord, it pushes forward the incoherent greed of the those who realize little themselves what they are doing.
However you must realize that people like Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly and even Stephen of that nature sometimes mean to pull stuff like this. You must realize this is the nature of their profession, they are entertainers. Stephen Colbert is funny and insulting, because he and his writers know that sells, you'll go to lengths to see it, and brands will go to lengths to get ads during their times, bring them more money. Rush has the same rule applied to him, though sadly he's just insulting, he's in it to sell.
Take it with a grain of salt, but don't let that stop you from enjoying it. smile

Ghastly grim and ancient raven wandering from the nightly shore - Uhm, Rush, and Bill are actually very serious about what they say. They're not joking.
The difference is Colbert got his start on The Dana Carvey Show, Strangers With Candy and Daily Show. Jon Stewart parodies Democrats and Colbert parodies Republicans LIKE Bill O'Reily and Rush Limbaugh. Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!' Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.'

You can believe that, but truth is, I know that I don't know who they are. I don't know their motives, where they have been, what they have done. I don't trust them, I have no reason to. Cause they said so? Please, if I believed that the Devil would have me hand and foot, and that you can't argue with. The only thing I know for sure is that all those men you have mentioned are very wealthy, and have insulted millions (Or in Rush's case- billions) of people. Isn't it just possible that there might be a correlation there?

I'm fairly sure Colbert is my soulmate.
I honestly don't care which side Jesus would be on, he isn't here to remedy homelessness or any other social blights; so I just don't care.

I'm pretty sure if Jesus was running around and voting in American political elections, we'd have much more important matters to discuss than who he's going to vote for. razz
