Recently rewatching some of my YYH DVDs (best. birthday present. EVER.), I realized that my FAVORITE Dark Tournament fight is Team Urameshi vs. Team Uraotogi ("beautiful!" Suzuka, Shishi-kun, Makintaro, Kuro Momotaro, and Ura Urashima). I think it is by far the most entertaining (like how Hiei is just SO FULL of himself) and the most revealing (we see Genkai fight for the first time AND the return of Youko Kurama!).
How about your guys'? I know just about everyone LOVES the Dark Tournament Saga, so let's hear it! biggrin
NOTE: It can be a whole team or just one fight. Doesn't matter. (:

...Hiei and Genkai's fights are definitely the most entertaining, I think. Hiei, because he just...does his thing and pwns everyone while being himself; Genkai, because she has a wonderful personality. :3
Favorite fights: SO MANY. But I would say the one I best remember is Kurama vs. Karasu.
...I loved Karasu as a villain. He was so utterly creepy and really knew how to get inside Kurama's head. I like villains who do that. :3
Genkai vs. Suzuki also has a special place in my heart. And KUWABARA VS. RISHO. Just putting that out there.

Karasu was a WONDERFUL villain. I think it was with him we first witnessed Kurama actually loose his mojo, you know? (:

1. Raizen vs Sensui
2. Demon Yusuke vs Sensui
3. Hiei vs Bui
4. Yusuke vs Toguro
-the best fights in the series.
Also I will laugh at anyone who votes Kurama or Hiei with the 'he iz kawaii desu' reason.

I think you'll notice fans who've stuck here all these years are a bit more intelligible than "KAWAII~~~" (though as you can tell by my siggy, I don't hide my fangirliness, and won't deny I've "squee"d to a shirtless Hiei ('specially when he first attempted Darkness Flame and it ripped his shirt apart. Heck, I think that fight might gain some brownie points just for that! .///. heart ))
Eh? Hiei vs. Bui? Any particular reason? biggrin
Yes, Chapter Black was EXTREMELY well done. I'm not gonna lie, though that's for a different forum, if you don't mind. wink

I liked Hiei vs. Bui the first time I watched it. After that, it became rather...I hate to say it, but...bland, you know. Hiei's fights lack a dramatic, twisty, psychological/emotional aspect that I love - we all know he's going to win during that point in the series. It wasn't until he fought Shigure in the last arc [or, hell, even Sensui] that I really felt like I wasn't going to know the outcome of the match.
...That's why I liked Kurama vs. Karasu so much, though I still think it's not as entertaining [which I interpret as fun and light-hearted, I suppose, though that may not be the case for everyone] as, say, KUWABARA VS. RISHO.

Hmmmm very hard to choose but, I liked yusuke's fights and kurama VS the demon who controls bombs and stuff (Can't remember his name at the moment. Its been a while.)

Kurama vs. Karasu : It was nice to see someone get under Kurama's skin for once. No one had been able to do that before. It's why I chose to cosplay Kurama from that battle. Actually it's also the battle I remember most vividly, I haven't watched the series in a while admittedly, and I am trying to wrack my brain for another one of my favourite/the best fights out of the Dark Tournament, and Kurama vs. Karasu is really the only one that's standing out for me right now.

I hear ya! biggrin I love the emotional and psychological aspects of the fights! (One reason I love Doctor vs. Yusuke fight in Ch. Black so much!) And I'll have to agree with Wyndi in that the Hiei vs. Bui fight has never really stuck out to me. sad (But at the same time, I think everyone was in such anticipation for Yusuke vs. Toguro after all that had happened, perhaps all other fights just kinda got glazed over...[in exception to Karasu vs. Kurama, simply because we'd been working up to it for a couple episodes at that point...]) WyndiWingfall ...That's why I liked Kurama vs. Karasu so much, though I still think it's not as entertaining [which I interpret as fun and light-hearted, I suppose, though that may not be the case for everyone] as, say, KUWABARA VS. I really liked Hiei vs Bui. Hiei stomped the living s**t outta Bui. Stomp battles can be awesome if done well you know? Just look at Raizen vs Sensui.
