Yeah, recently I told one of my freinds that I was asexual, and they began to back away from me with this look of disgust on their face. I stepped forward and asked, "What's wrong? There's nothing wrong with asexuality." He stopped and replied, "Dude, there's no such thing as asexuality, its only a cover for closet *****. I wouldn't go around saying that or anything."

Can you believe it! Since when are we asexuals *****? It's a disgrace! An outrage even! I doubt Gaia would allow a guild of ***** to exist! I mean, come on. So maybe a few ***** have misued this term in their vile ways, but that doent make it so horrible. Then again, words tend to more easily take on bad conotations, as opposed to good ones. Just a shout out to you all, so don't be surprised if you hear this. I mean I was shocked that anyone would abuse this good term for thier own dispicable purposes.

True, it is. Unless humans can explain something that is obviously there, they are afraid of it, in turn attacking it and trying to disprove it. Yeah, I wish people would stop to consider all areas of a statement before passing a sentence on that person. Oh, well.

Dear gawd, I hardly know what to say about that. The world really is messed up when it thinks that people without the drive to have sex with adults must have some sick fetishes lying underneath and keep donkey/clown pr0n under their beds.

Though, in some ways at least the guy was being honest and saying it to your face instead of just thinking it. I know one friend I've talked to pretty much deemed me a freak without my knowledge when I explained to her that the idea of having sex bothered me and I wanted nothing to do with it *I didn't know the term asexual at the time*, and her response, though kind, was to say "well, maybe you just need to find the right person to lead you through it slowly".

I don't think that sex has to be like getting a shot at the doctor. It should be something you want, and if you don't want it, you shouldn't have to deal with it.

Again, sorry for the long rant, I just needed to get a bunch of stuff off my chest and I think your friend's reaction hit a nerve. It's hard enough sometimes without being a pervert for not being a pervert.
