Luke had his hands stuffed in his pockets, a scarf wrapped heavily around his neck and half his face. This cold was ridiculous-- Luke wouldn't have even gone out to buy presents in this weather. Unfortunately, it seemed Destiny City's weather would stay this way for the rest of the winter season.
He needed to find the perfect gift. Sure, there were others he could just go out and buy anything for. But not for this one person. His hands reluctantly left his pockets to pull his hood closer to frame his face, green eyes lifting to look ahead.
If it wasn't .. Miss Moffat? Was that her up there? Hey! If that was her, he could ask for gift advice. She was a female. She must of had adequate, if not excellent, taste in gifts!

It was indeed Miss Moffat, and she also tended to be somewhat female on a daily basis. On this day, she was a female with a mission. She was walking while scribbling in a notepad, glancing up at the shopping centre every few moments. If someone watched her long enough, they might even think that she was casing the joint.
And that person would be right.
Holiday shopping wasn't something to take lightly. While Miss Moffat had already kicked soccer-mom a** on Black Friday and had enough energy left to click things very quickly on Cyber Monday, she still had some business to take care of. The area was already teeming with shoppers and crying, sticky children, not to mention Santa Land elves in various emotional states better left unmentioned.
It was a warzone.
She needed a plan of attack.

"Fudderwalkin!"
Luke had attempted to sneak up behind the busy maid, trying to go for a cheerful scare with whatever came first to mind. Whoops. Possibly, the wrong word choice. But who could blame him when he had recently rewatched that movie? (It didn't really have depth in his opinion.) Coming up form behind, Luke had missed her (obviously) serious intentions, looking over the maid's shoulder casually. What was that in her hand? ... A notepad and pencil?
A reminder struck.
"I know! You're making a christmas gift for Santa, aren't you? I've got one under my tree too-- I was going to bring it and give it to one of the elves but it slipped my mind." But obviously it hadn't slipped Miss Moffat's. As usual, she was quite prepared for the Christmas scenario. Luke was impressed, his grin and slightly red cheeks proudly beamed at Guitar-breaker, giving her a thumbs up.

Jumping in fright, Emily did what only came natural and prepared to stab her attacker with a pencil. Teeth bared, hand raised, and eyes feral she turned to see...Wheelman? She nearly sagged at the realization that it wasn't an insane and/or drunk homeless man that she would need to fend off in some warped fight to the death.
Looking away to hide her flush of embarrassment, the maid cleared her through and greeted him, "Your stealth has improved, Wheelman." At the mention of Santa her expression darkened, "That man and I have nothing to do with each other. Nothing." Apparently Emily and Santa had personal issues, but she relaxed at seeing her comrade's grin and thumb's up. Oh to be innocent again.
With a small sigh, she decided to let him preserve the happy notion of Kindly Fat Santa Who Gave Children Toys, and instead redirected the conversation, "You're very...energetic today." It was said with an appraising look and a nod of approval.
It possibly meant that she was glad he was shopping with proper enthusiasm.
Or that she felt he was making proper dietary choices.

"That's great. I'm still trying to get into ninja class 101, but it's proving a little difficult." Luke chuckled, sweating a little at her dark look. He backed up a step, his chuckles fading. (She looked as if Santa had murdered her puppy. Or kitten. One of them. Something horribly cruel. Had he stepped upon it when he came down the chimney?)
"Of course I'm energetic. Aren't I always?" He grinned, stuffing his hands in his pockets. He looked around to the crowded mall, shaking his head. Luke was pleased to meet his teacher. He didn't think they would meet for awhile, considering that Destiny City consisted of too much residents to count.
But a meeting between teacher and student was destiny. Speaking of teacher--
"I need some advice. Now that we're both here and reminded of the valuable lessons that I learned from your wisdom, I figured it'll come in handy this time too." He told the maid, rubbing the back of his head in a thoughtful gesture, his tone filled with respect.. and lingering hope? He grinned again, green eyes looking down to the female in front of him.
