Has any one seen it used in there school I want more info on how its used but there is not much to be found I got one and I understand basic swings and strikes with the weight but I have found little info on the way it was used and even fewer pics and videos. It was used by samurai and ninja but the ninja also had the kyoketsu shogi it has a ring on the end and a strait blade added to the curved.

All I can say is I've seen it used once by a kobudo school in a demonstration.. the weight hit the attacker with the sword in the head, or wrapped around the sword, or the hands of the attacker, thus controling him and luring him in to finish the job with the kama.

Once again, seems very impractical to me. mrgreen

EDIT: can't type english properly, must go back to school...

I can't say I see a bushi using it. It seems lik a dishonorable weapon to use in public. Uses are not limited to combat applications. The chain can be used as a grappling line, as well as a tripwire or a garotte. The weight can be swing with only a short length of chain for use as a short range bludgeon. With the chain coiled, it alsomakes a fair face rake.
