This street didn't have nearly enough snow. In fact, the little snowdancer pouted a bit as she realized that someone had been shoveling it out of the way so they could get to that giant, ugly metal contraption. The resulting piles of snow were kind of lumpy and discolored and just generally unattractive. That just wouldn't do!

"I can fix it!" she chirped, leaping on top of the car's hood gracefully and landing without so much as a bump - she was pretty light on her feet after all. Then, with a pleased smile on her face, she did a half-twirl that sent her pale arms in a graceful arc, resulting in a flurry spray of snow all over the ground around her.

Soon the lumpy snow was covered in a fresh, beautiful sheet and she leaped down with a tiny twirl to continue laying it across the shoveled path leading from the house's front porch. The whole way she landed lightly in the snow, twirling and leaping in beautiful arcs until at last she stopped to the side of the path to survey her work.

"Shovel that away!" she let out, soon followed by a pleased peal of laughter as she danced her way back out onto the snow-covered sidewalk, looking for more areas to dust.

Stupid snow, stupid lunch meeting his father required him to be at and more importantly stupid snow! The teen couldn't wrap his head around how much snow had been coating Destiny City lately, it had been worse with every following week. It made it nearly impossible to go and do anything any longer, which really put quite the damper on his plans for the month.

The worst of it all? The fact that his father made him walk back to the school. In the freezing cold, icy weather just because the man had "other obligations" and "couldn't afford to wait around in traffic". It took all of the pink-striped haired boy's self control not to raise his voice and snap at the man. "Shouldn't have forced me to come in the first place," he mumbled bitterly digging his hands more deeply in his pockets.

He buried his chin into his scarf trying to keep it around his nose and not freeze but much to his chagrin it kept slipping and only partial covered the lower half of his face. When it wanted to that was.

Then by a stroke of luck he happened to see a girl dancing in the middle of the street. A girl it what looked to be a ballerina outfit dancing around the street. Enjoying the snow. How could anyone enjoy the snow right now?

"What the hell are you doing?"

The snowdancer stopped mid-step as a voice called out to her. Her head tilted a little to the side, her back still to him, as she tried to decide if she recognized it or not. Definitely not. She turned in place with a little sweep of her arm, spinning until she could look directly at him. Oh, a boy! A boy that didn't look like he was appreciating her work very much.

"I'm fixing things," she said pleasantly enough, staring at him curiously from where she was standing. Then she rose up onto her toes and crossed over to him with a flurry of light, quick steps that were far too graceful for a sidewalk now covered in snow. She should have been trudging through it or shuffling, but instead she crossed with no more thought than she would have if it had been a dance studio floor.

"What are you doing?" she countered once she was in distance, leaning into his personal bubble a little to examine him from head to toe. Without waiting for an answer, however, she reached out to tug lightly at the end of his scarf. "You shouldn't wear this, it doesn't let the cold in." And that was said with a surprisingly convincing tone, as if she were a doctor telling him that the winter air would cure his ails.

"Excuse me? How are you fixing things?" He asked as if was the most ridiculous thing he had ever heard. Of course while he had seen her dancing, and she was still dancing, he hadn't seen her magically replace all the snow that had been shoveled but that probably wouldn't have surprised him too much with all the weird stuff that was happening in Destiny City.

What did surprise him was how seamlessly she moved across the snow as though she was walking on top of it rather than through it. That he could not wrap his head around. Without thinking he blurted out, "how are you doing that?" Even as he spoke he was looking down at his own feet that were sinking into snow as they spoke.

He leaned back when she got close to him and even tried to lean far enough back, without falling over, to get her to let go. Her words were convincing indeed but Chase would not be swayed by her. He pulled a hand from his pocket and circled it around her wrist. "Are you trying to seduce me?"

"I just do," she answered, still trying to unwind his scarf from around him. How could he really appreciate winter if he didn't bother to feel it?

..and that's when he got a little too close for even the snow fairy's comfort.

"What, no!" She blurted out and twirled away from him, blowing a rather forceful gust of wind in his direction. Not enough to harm him, but definitely enough to bounce him back and out of reach of her. She leaped on top of a nearby car once more, stepping from the hood to the very top of the cab in a chain of swift movements. There, she was plenty far away from him now.

"Don't do that," she said with a frown, her impish expression having faded away to something serious for the first time in.. a very long time. She brought her pale blue-tinted arms up and crossed them over her chest, then tilted her chin up and away from him in an almost pouting, snotty motion.

Her rejection of him didn't seem to phase him so much, that was until she blasted him with a gust of wind. He stumbled back a couple of steps and struggled to regain his balance. He adjusted his scarf, wrapping it back tightly around his neck, and stepped forward. "How are you doing that?" He asked sweetly because he was mostly curious. It was a strange thing, to be blown back by a ballerina that danced on snow.

"Come on sweetheart," he started stepping toward her again, with much difficulty. "Playing hard to get won't stop me from playing," he told her smirking. "Besides you were the one to come to me," he pointed at folding his arms over his chest in a similar fashion to the snow dancer.

"Don't I at least get a name?"

Being a smooth talker was something Chase was good at, of course it just depending on who he was talking to of course. But the snow dancer was pretty and was making a bitterly cold walk home amusing.

"You're really slow," she murmured with a barely audible sigh, uncrossing her arms just to place them on her hips. She leaned over the car just a little to peer down at him better. How could he not figure out what she was by now? Maybe she was giving these humans too much credit.

"Eira," she said finally, giving in to his queries though she didn't budge one inch from the car's top, "the snowdancer." She added the last part just to settle his curiousity, though judging by his lack of knowledge in general she really doubted that it was going to mean much to him.

"And that's just what I do." She crossed over to the top of the trunk, then made a graceful leap down to the snow-packed road behind him, sending down a flurry of snowflakes as she did so. "I'm here to make the world beautiful!" And that was the honest truth. She peered back up at him from where she was standing, then frowned at him as she noticed the retucked scarf. She wouldn't be making any gestures to remove it again though - she learned quick enough to know she should keep her hands to herself around this one.

"Well humans don't have the ability to walk on top of the snow like you do," Chase replied lifting a snow covered foot as an example. "Instead we get to tromp through it and hope that we don't sink so far in we can't get out. I'm sure if we could do what you do then we would all like the snow much more, minus the dancing bit," he commented. "Not everyone is suited for dancing," he shivered which one couldn't be sure was due to the cold or the mental image that had cropped up.

"Chase," he offered his own name but made no move to get closer to her at the moment. He watched her twirl around and release snow in her wake. "Guess the newest freak show has arrived in Destiny City, it's about time," he laughed, "things were starting to get old."

It was amusing to the teen just how many odd characters were popping up. First the sailor suited terrorists that were out to ruin the city, then those weird monster creatures that lurked at night and now a ballerina who could create snow. "Though I recommend you don't come on to everyone," he told her shoving his hands into his pockets as he started to walk towards her again. Only this time he had no intention of touching her. "The snow's been upsetting people and there's dangerous things here, you don't want to cross them."

People went missing in Destiny City and while the blue tinted skinned girl wasn't exactly natural he felt the need to warn her. His expression had turned from his humored smirk to that of a serious one. No more games, besides it was freezing out here.

"Anyone can dance," she asserted, drawing her brows down and pouting her lips a little at the thought. Who couldn't dance? It wasn't hard! Just flowing with whatever beat to be found. Dancing was almost as beautiful as winter.

"Chase," she repeated, like a foreign word on her tongue, then turned away once he started to get close to her - he could follow her as she moved on to the rest of her duties or he could be left behind. She didn't really concern herself with either, she had stuff to do!

She paused talking to him as she noticed a puddle of half-melted ice, probably the result of a recently moved car. She stopped her twirling steps to lean down - one leg holding her steady while the other arched gracefully into the air. At that angle, her head was much closer to the puddle and with cupped hands she blew a gust of cold wind across the surface until it froze the liquid back into place. Then, as easily as she had entered the position, she stood back up.

"I'm not really that worried," she held up her hands, palms turned upward, and gave him that same impish look from before. Then, with a sigh, she turned back away from him. "And we're not a freakshow, or floozies, for your information."

"I'm afraid I must disagree with you," he replied curling his fingers into his palms in hopes that it would warm them. "Dancing is not something anyone can do, at least not well," he stated pulling a foot out of the snow and stepping forward into an existing footprint. He wanted to keep moving but avoid getting any more snow in his shoes than already present.

Once standing on a less snowy patch on the side walk he shook off his feet. He was busy focusing on ridding himself of extra snow that he almost missed her freezing the puddle. "How are you doing that?" he asked curiously. He had heard about the strange things that happened in Destiny City but he had never actually witnessed it before.

"Pretty sure every weird thing in Destiny City is part of a freakshow but whatever, I'll bite," he grinned "What are you?"

"Dancing isn't about being good, it's about feeling good!" She smiled as she said this, as if it were an obvious fact of life. Of course, it was probably much easier to hold such a philosophy when one was good at dancing.

She crossed her arms one over the other on top of her chest, narrowing her eyes a little as she considered him. It was hard for her to tell if he was teasing her or not - that odd little grin on his face was just so.. so.. mischievous. "If you must know, I'm a Snow Dancer, and a handmaiden to her great highness, Princess Kaguya." She nodded her head matter-of-factly as she said it.

After a moment of scrutiny on her part, she took a few light, hesitant steps toward him. "I can show you how to dance, if you want - as long as you keep your hands where they're supposed to be." She uncrossed one arm to point a finger at him, her head tilted up a little to indicate that she meant serious business.

Chase's grin never faltered as he stepped towards her again trying to close the gap between them as best he could. It was at that moment that he wished he could dance on top of the snow like Eira did, even if he disliked ballet which seemed to be her style. "Perhaps," he agreed while silently disagreeing. It wasn't getting him anywhere arguing with her so he dropped it. It was no loss.

"I have no idea what any of that means but hey, that's okay I'm pretty smart I'll get it eventually," he laughed at himself because he did understand part of what she said. He could easily figure what a Snow Dancer was, she was showing it to him after all but he didn't know who Kaguya was and in all honestly he didn't really care but he'd pretend.

He was pretty good at being a people pleaser when he wanted to be.

He frowned as she pointed at him, then he placed his hands over his heart as though she had hurt him with her words. "Ouch, but I promise Miss Eira, I'll be on my best behavior." There was that mischievous grin of his.

Eira frowned at him and shook her head a little at his less-than-heartfelt comment. She didn't really trust him, but she felt bad for him. After all, to think that you couldn't dance just seemed awful to her.

"I mean it," she emphasized, even as she took a few graceful leaps to land almost directly in front of him. She reached out with one cold, chilly hand and took his, placing it at the waist line of her dress. "Keep that there," she narrowed her eyes a little in an attempt to look serious. She then set that hand on his shoulder and reached for his other one with her free hand. She pulled it up and slightly to the side, then nodded a little at him.

"This is a little more simple than what I usually do, but you should be able to pick it up just fine," she gave him a smile, almost teasing, as she waited for him to adjust himself to the position.

He held his hands up in the air, "Okay, okay, best behavior I swear." He reiterated his statement with a tone of surrender. He would play nice, for now. As she took up his hands he felt himself shiver because her chilled hand was a reminder of how cold it was. He was thankful he had remembered to wear his gloves but they couldn't protect him from all of the cold.

Pity.

His fingers curled more tightly around her waist, he didn't move it but he did make it so he had a better grip. His fingers curled around her hand as he nodded. "Lead the way Snow Dancer," he told her.

She drew a deep breath as she felt his hand curling closer around her waist, trying to fight the instant 'flight' response it triggered in her body. She was an aloof, flighty creature and being held down by anything was kind of overwhelming. Still, she'd promised herself to help this poor human realize his dancing potential and she wouldn't abandon that just because he kind of gave her the jitters.

"Alright then," she said pleasantly enough, then instantly whirled herself into motion. It was probably an odd feeling, to dance with a snow dancer. Her feet didn't quite sink into the snow, she wasn't exactly grounded. And yet, she was still there, her graceful steps pulling him into a flowing waltz. Even in what she considered to be an extremely simple dance, her face brightened and she her mood seemed to lighten considerably.

"You just feel the beat," she said happily, her eyes shutting as if it would help her hear better, "the one in your heart."
