Fremere just loved going to the mall! Not only was there a bunch of cool things to look at and get, but there were a lot of cool people to see and meet too! Today would be no exception.
The boy wandered out of a store with his mom, peering into his bag at the new hair brush he was very excited to get. It was red (of course) with some gold lining and what could he say? The boy was appreciative and excited by the simplest of things. He just couldn’t wait to try out his new brush! He wouldn’t have to wait long.
The boy then told his mother that he would just go sit on the fountain edge while he waited for her to finish her shopping, the fountain was a great place to people watch after all! Akuja allowed him too, telling him not to go anywhere else and soon the boy had seated himself and taken the brush out of the bag to look over it admiringly. The boy giggled with delight, just so excited to use this! His thoughts were soon derailed though as he caught sight of what looked like fur in the corner of his eye.
The boy’s head whipped to the side to catch sight of a long, furry, bushy tail and it was like Christmas had come early. Oh dear! That tail looked matted! He could fix that, right now! Fremere was grinning from ear to ear as he leaned and then soon was starting to brush the tail vigorously.

Kicked out of the house. Not just kicked out. Driven away from the house and kicked out of the truck. Why? Because apparently Donovan was sick of the young teen werewolf lounging around the house. "Go be a teenager" he says.
Vahn Hart had been dropped off at the mall. Sure, he'd been complaining he wanted new things, but he had expected Donovan to do it himself. Damn. At least he was given money to buy things.
Vahn, however, was a bit overwhelmed. Who knew malls were so packed with people? Why were they here? Was the mall really all that fun? The poor teen was becoming agitated. Rather than explore th shops, the anxious and befuddled wolf boy sat himself down by the fountain. Not too many people whizzing by him here. Safe!
Or so he thought.
The teenager was busy glaring at various passerby, when he felt tugging at his tail. Alarmed, the young man yelped and whipped his tail away, turning and nearly losing his balance. Good thing too. No one needs to have a wolf boy smelling of wet fur. "W'the Hell kid?!" He growled in an irritated manner.

Fremere was just going to town with the brush, and the spot he had been able to get to was already soft and shining, until it suddenly the tail whipped away, his brush embedded in some tangles as it flew out of his hand with the tail. It suddenly seemed to have surprised the boy that this tail was attached to something that was alive. The boy only startled briefly until he was suddenly grinning excitedly as he stared up at the wolf boy.
The boy hopped off of the ledge and bounded over to Vahn, still grinning up at him. “Oh, hi!” He held his hand out to him. “My name is Fremere, what’s yours?” His enthusiasm and excitement was a bit unnerving.

Vahn did not even notice the brush was still attached, though he did have a feeling of something being amiss. He acquitted it to fact some stranger was brushing his tail.
Vahn, already distressed, found himself in utter befuddlement soon enough. This boy seemed so elated, even after trying to brush the grump wolf's tail, that he even felt the need to introduce himself? The look on Vahn's face was beyond horrified. He was hardly sure what to even think, let alone reply. His fanged mawl agape, he stared up at the boy. "..I.... Say what?" He finally let out, cocking his head to the side.
"No, seriously, why we--" While he usually swished his tail while agitated, right then it seemed heavier. And it was making clicking noises. The Hell? Vahn furrowed his brows, pausing his chewing out of the red haired boy. He looked behind him hurriedly, trying to look at his tail, glimpsing the brush stuck in his fur. How degrading! His poor wolfy pride. He tried to grab his tail and pull the thing off, but seemed to be having trouble doing so, while also growling at the boy. "You just... why did you even... why are...GRAGHA! Get this off me!" He seemed more like an irritated puppy than a ferocious beast, but no one would think to tell him that.

The boy didn’t seem at all phased by Vahn’s horrified look, as he continued to stare up at the teen with that Cheshire grin on his face. At the teen’s words, the boy took that as that he needed to reintroduce himself again, which he did. “My name is Fremere!”
When Vahn suddenly seemed to be looking behind him, the boy blinked curiously and temporarily forgot the pursuit of wanting to shake the teen’s hand to see what the problem was as well. The boy watched as the teen tried to get the brush out of his tail but it just seemed out of reach. “That’s my brush!” Fremere exclaimed proudly as he just as suddenly reached out and grabbed the brush and tugged at it.
“Uh oh!”

Was this kid for real? Vahn was already irritated, but things just seemed to be getting worse. Vahn cocked an eyebrow as the boy reintroduced himself. "Yeah, I gathered that.." Vahn, being as he was, felt no need to give his own name.
"No s**t." He replied to Fremere at the oh so brilliant observation at his predicament. Yes, it was definitely not Vahn's brush. Had to belong to the kid who was brushing him. No worries though! Surely this kid could get that brush off him and be on his merry way!
"Get it out." The wolf boy grumbed, leaning on his hands now, having given up trying to get the brush out himself. But what was this? "Uh oh? What do you mean, Uh Oh?" Vahn asked, sounding slightly panicked. He did not want to walk around with a flamboyant hairbrush stuck to his tail!

“Do you have a name?” Fremere continued as he looked over the red brush that was firmly embedded in the teen’s tail. He hummed thoughtfully and happily as he continued to examine it. “If you don’t have one, I will give you one! We can call you Matty.” The boy grinned, for he found this to be a very clever name on his part. Get it, Matty? His fur was matted?
“Uh oh…means it’s stuck right now….” The boy crouched near the tail and grabbed the brush handle and placed his other hand down on the tail to keep it pinned as he tried wrestling it out. While doing so, he was going to continue and try to converse with his new friend.
“So Matty, what are you doing at the mall today? It’s a good day to be out!”

"Yep." Vahn replied bluntly. Fremere didn't ask him for his name, so why give it? The teen was just that much of a jerk. Then again, he didn't expect to be given a nickname. He raised a brow at the boy, his mouth forming a twisted shape. "Noo I have one. No need to.." Damn. The kid made one up. Whatever. Vahn clicked his tongue and looked to the side. Matty? Was that supposed to be a joke? Brat. If only this brush wasn't stuck to his tail, he could just walk away.
"Fantastic." Vahn answered sarcastically. Maybe it wasn't an obvious uh oh. Heck, the kid could have stuck gum in his tail, right? At least it was just a brush. He winced a bit as the kid tried to pull the brush from his fur. Oh geez, he's still calling me Matty. "It sure is." He replied blandly, leaning his elbows on his knees and cupping his face with his hands like a bored child left to sit in a bank or other boring place. "I need stuff. Like... stuff. Iunno. Don't remember what I was whining about before the Alpha male dropped me off here. He was all antsy cause I lounge in his living room all day." He paused a moment. Did he just resign himself to being called Matty? "It's Vahn. Don't call me Matty again." He said finally, shifting his eyes uncomfortably.

Fremere simply laughed when Vahn tried to stop him from giving him a name. “Too late!” He sang out a bit, “Besides, having nicknames shows affection for the person!”
The boy continued to tug at the brush, listening to the teen as he finally started to talk a bit more. “What’s an alpha male?” He questioned curiously, “The mall is fun!” He also informed, “Did you see anything you wanted to get? Mom bought this brush for me! It’s super awesome. Do you have any siblings? I have a little sister! I could see you being a big brother, Vahn-Matty.” While Fremere was chattering along he did happen to get the brush untangled and then had taken it upon himself to resume brushing out the teen’s tail.

Affection, huh? Vahn smirked a bit, feeling a slight amount of spite coming around. "Oh yeah? Where'd you learn that, Shrimp?" Hah, that'll show him! So he thought.
"Alpha male is the head of the pack. Uh.." Maybe he wouldn't understand that. "Like, my Dad, I guess." He'd never call him that to his face though. Psh. It would be creepy to both parties involved. "Is it? Coulda fooled me. Way too crowded. Why are so many people here?" He grumbled, getting used to the tugging on his tail. So much in fact, he didn't realized Fremere had gotten the brush free, and had gone back to brushing it again.
"Wordy little bugger, ain't cha.." He replied after a short pause. "No, I haven't gotten to any stores yet. Sister, huh? Uuh.. yeah, I'm a big brother. I got a shrimpy kid brother named Vance." Little did the wolf teen realized, that brushing of his tail was actually rather therapeutic.

"I just know!” Fremere replied happily and whole heartedly. Upon being given a nick name the boy just giggled. “I like that! It’s because my hair is red and I’m short, I’m gonna be super tall one day though buuut my hair will still be red!” The boy was oh so burned by Vahn’s nickname, obviously.
“Oh okay, your dad!” Fremere nodded his head as he worked at the teen’s tail. “I don’t have a dad, just a mom! Though I have an uncle, he’s really cool! He’s super tall and like a brick house!” He bobbed his head a bit as he kept brushing. “I like seeing all the people! They are all potential friends just waiting to be made! Lots of people come here to eat and shop and hang out! That’s what mom says anyways. I have eaten and shopped, I haven’t hung out at the mall yet.” He laughed once more. “I like talking! It’s how you get to know more about people! You should go to Hot Topic Vahn-Matty, that seems like your store.”
He continued brushing since he wasn’t getting stopped, and the fur was turning out rather lovely looking!
“Yeah! Her name is Seidh, she has pretty black eyes and pretty purple hair!” When the name Vance was mentioned, the boy seemed to perk up quite a bit. “I know Vance!” He exclaimed loudly and quite excitedly, causing a few passer-bys to stare at him. “We went swimming at the indoor pool together! He’s a flip master!”

Vahn wasn't sure if he needed to be dumbfounded by the boy's optimism or just try and become immune to it. He was worse than Vance! At least Vance was skittish. This kid wouldn't take a hint. Maybe he was being too subtle? Well, luckily, Vahn wasn't enough of a jerk to tell the kid to bugger off out right. Besides, this brush needed to be detangled from his tail. It wasn't as if the brush was already out and the kid was brushing it. That'd be silly
Vahn listened with a brain dead expression on his face while Fremere chattered at him. He was half listening. He barely picked out most of what the kid was saying. Apparently he liked talking. He'd never have guessed. "What's a Hot Topic?" He asked in a monotoned grumble. Apparently it catered to 'his type' or something. Did it sell conversations or something? What kind of store was it?
Wait, pretty black eyes? Why did she have shiners if she was his little sister? Oh, maybe he meant the iris of the eyes themselves.. That seemed more likely.
"No kidding." It didn't seem to surprise him the boy knew Vance. Vance apparently knew a lot of people. This kid seemed like someone he would get along with anyway. "Is he now?" What was a flip master, anyway?

“Hot Topic is a store!” Fremere informed the wolf teen ever so helpfully. “There’s all kinds of black shirts with funny sayings…some even have funny pictures! Mom says there’s emu shirts there too….” The boy moved on to a different section of Vahn’s tail. “I want to see an emu…” Fremere murmured thoughtfully before suddenly piping up again. “I wanna go to the zoo too! I hear the zoo is awesome! Lots of different animals!”
Apparently Fremere was a chatter box. This wouldn’t surprise anyone who knew him though.
“Yeah!” He exclaimed. “Vance did all kinds of flips off the diving board like a master!” The boy paused then to make swirling motions with his free hand. “He soared through the air doing flips and then SPLOOSH he landed in the water!” He went back to enthusiastically brushing the tail. “This is turning out so smooth and shiny!”

"Funny shirts. You don't say." Vahn muttered faining interest halfheartedly. "I ain't exactly a big fan of comedy." The pouting teenager shot back, his ear twitching in discontent. He so didn't want to be there. The wolf boy tried his best to tune out the ramblings of the rambunctious child, but his tone irritated his hearing, like a cricket that wouldn't shut up in the middle of the night.
"Yup. Lot's of animals. And monkeys, just like you. You'd get along famously with them." The truth was he had never even been to a zoo, but he knew about them from the TV. The boy watched a lot of TV. Hell, he even watched Soap Operas. It was something to look at without it trying to talk at him, thats what mattered.
"Yeah, I guess he does like stuff like that." He recalled the boy sticking himself to the ceiling to avoid a beating once. Vahn also had played lifeguard while Donovan was out and watched over Vance while he played in the pool. He recalled the boy doing quite a bit of gymnastics then too.
...What? Vahn blinked and turned around, a cross expression on his face. "How long has that thing been out of my tail?!" He had assumed the boy was still trying to free it, but he was brushing it all that time?! Vahn angrily turned his tail away, twirling it around himself protectively. He looked it over...
"Huh... this actually looks good..." Vahn cast a scornful look back at the brush, then back at his tail again. It.. only had a little bit left to brush... Well, maybe just finish it off, right? Vahn flicked his tail back toward Fremere, leaning his chin in his palm again. Never leave a job undone, right?

“Yup!” Fremere did so say. “Oh? That’s alright then! They have music shirts and stuff too!” When Vahn went on to describe what a zoo was like, the boy wiggled excitedly. “Oh I bet!” He agreed, not at all catching on that the wolf teen’s words were meant to jest at him. “Monkeys are fun! They’re really energetic and stuff! They swing all over the place.” Fremere just grinned and actually paused in brushing the tail when Vahn pulled it away.
“I did a really good job!” He exclaimed proudly and couldn’t help but seem very delighted when the tail was flicked back at him. The boy actually squealed. Fremere then set back to work, finishing off the tail so that it’d be nice and smooth and untangled. “What are you going to do later, Vahn-Matty?” He questioned brightly.
