General InformationFull Name: Eimhin Rahim Elisedd Gender: Male Age: Eighteen Faction: LuminousAppearanceHeight/Weight: About 6'0", weighing a scant 150 pounds Skin: Creamy complexion with a slightly pink undertone. Hair: Firey Red, short, perpetually messy. Eyes: Lime green Wings: Moving from a warm orange at the center to a yellow-green at the tips. Clothing: With no real alternative, Eimhin dresses in rags put together from various outfits that have been cast out by the upper echelons of society. Often the colors don't go together, there are rips in the fabric, and they never seem to quite fit. His shoes are the only exception; he pays good money to get shoes that are made especially for him. Other: Eimhin is very thin, almost ropey; his build hides much of his strength, making him seem like an easy opponent. He often isn't really that clean - baths and the like are luxuries, not a daily occurrence. I don't know if this is possible... but if he can have a dagger in his hand, that would be awesome. Personal Information
Magical Abilities
Smell Be Gone - Not wanting to smell so bad he drives off the ladies - or enough that he'll be caught in his chosen profession simply because his odor is strong - Eimhin has learned to charm his clothing so that it doesn't reak of body odor. A small hint remains, as he isn't yet talented enough to fully cast the charm, but it is as if he hadn't bathed for a day or two instead of the actual week he's gone.
Walk in Silence - Not wanting his footsteps to give him away, Eimhin has learned to charm his shoes to ward off the everyday sounds - foot steps, small leather squeaks and the like. Of course, if he does something larger, like bang his toes against some object or another, it will be heard. He can't cover up squeaks made by loose floorboards, and if he walks through water splashing can be heard. This is just a little trick to make it a bit easier for him to thieve.
Nonmagical Talents
Lock pick - An extremely talented lock pick, Eimhin has been toying with the devices since he was old enough to hold a pick. He learned from the best when he was young - thieves amused by his enthusiasm would show him the art, not realizing that they were raising their future competition. He prefers to work without brute force - he often refers to his actions as 'making love' to the lock - hit it in the right spot, and you'll get wonderful results.
Blending In - An often over-looked but very important part of being a thief is the ability to blend into a crowd. Eimhin is very good at this; he is careful to do nothing to stand out. He makes enough conversation to not look odd, but not enough to be memorable. He does not look overly sad or happy, keeping a fairly neutral expression while responding appropriately to outside stimuli. When he does his job correctly... no one really knows he's there.
Pick-pocket - Along with learning the art of lock picking, Eimhin was schooled in the ways of picking pockets from a young age. He used to be very good at doing this; often times, his targets wouldn't realize their money was gone until he was long gone. Now, however, he's gotten a little rusty; now that he's older, he mostly burgles houses to make a living. Pick pocketing is used as a last resort to feed himself.
Dagger Wielder - In addition to learning the ways of the thief, he also learned how to use twin daggers to defend himself. He keeps them hidden on his person, always in ready reach, and wields them with deadly precision. He knows where to strike, and when - he uses his small build to his advantage. Because he isn't very big, he doesn't tire easily, and his small frame can dart in and out of striking distance with ease.
Still Mastering
Shadow Cloak - Eimhin is learning how to charm his cloak (or any item of clothing, in theory) to take on a sort of 'shadow' appearance. It won't hide him completely, and doesn't last longer than an hour, but it will help him skulk around the streets at night. One drawback, however, is that if he is in any sort of direct light, he sticks out like a sore thumb. In order to really utilize this ability, he must skirt along lights from shadow to shadow. Currently, as he is working on being able to use this charm, he finds that working it almost casts a shadow over his sight; things are dim and muted for several hours.
Still Locked - Not wanting others to realize right away that he's been there, he is also learning how to charm locks to have the appearance of being locked. At a glance, it seems that nothing has been disturbed. However, once someone tests it with their hands, they will know that it has been meddled with. This will come in handy when he is faced with hidden lock-boxes; hopefully, the holder of such items, if he returns them to exactly where he found them, will not even realize until days later that their precious goods are gone, and by then, he'll have already sold them. Right now, using this spell has a bit of a backlash; it makes him very tired, and he has to nap right after casting it, making it ineffective to use it while actually burglarizing.

Quirks He is terribly touchy about his inability to bathe as much as he'd like. If someone mentions that he smells, he tends to explode on them, ranting about their many faults. Sometimes he goes on so long that the person who mentioned it forgets what they did to bring on his temper. He has been known to hold long grudges against those who say such things.
Eimhin is also a little... odd... about his shoes. The instant he feels they are worn, or that they aren't fitting correctly, he begins to save for a new pair. He loves leather boots the best, and will settle for nothing less. He doesn't tell people this, afraid they'll see it as a weakness, but his feet are actually terribly sensitive. While the rest of his body can manage through almost any circumstance, should his feet be uncomfortable, he loses the ability to function up to his full ability.
Prone to occasional fits of spoonerism, Eimhin sometimes makes little to no sense. This tendency is extremely embarrassing to him, and if it happens in a crowd or group situation, if others laugh or point it out, he will often abruptly leave.
Personality Good Natured - Eimhin is almost always in a good mood; despite the hardships he faces, he finds life to be, well... good. He usually has enough to fill his belly, has a fairly secure place to sleep, and is often surrounded by a bevy of beauties (all near his station, of course) while not working. As such, when not trying to blend into a crowd, he has a sunny disposition, and is fairly laid back. Except for a few odd things that will make him upset, he isn't affected by most insults or criticisms, making him a favorite at the pub he frequents.
Lecher - He certainly loves the ladies, and isn't shy about letting them know it. He even brags about a wealthy woman who, on finding him rummaging through her stuff, not only forked it all over, but took him to her bed after he seduced her. This is, of course, completely unproven, but he maintains the story no matter what others say. He doesn't exactly leer, but he makes his appreciation for the female body known, liking especially to watch women as they walk away. However, if a woman makes it clear that she isn't interested, he backs off, and takes a more respectful tack instead.
Humorous - Eimhin is always ready to laugh and make others laugh too. Unfortunately, he sometimes makes jokes at another's expense... especially if he thinks that they're too serious for their own good. This has earned him a few punches in his day from others who don't find him at all funny.
Stubborn Not one to give up easily, Eimhin will pursue his course until the bitter end... even when it might be better for him to veer off his chosen path. This too gets him into trouble, but it can also be a valuable asset when he uses it appropriately. It helps him to learn spells that might otherwise be put by the wayside because of their difficulty, and keeps him from succumbing to the 'poor me's' that plague others of his station and economical status. It also serves him well when it comes to his life's ambition; to be head of the Thieves Guild, a secretive, shadowy organization that he is currently attempting to join.
Self-centered - While feeling sympathy for the plight of others, Eimhin rarely will help out. He learned this attitude from his first teachers. One always has to take care of oneself on the streets; it's a mean place to be, and survival is limited to the fittest. The only exception he makes to this is children; he won't take one in, but he doesn't mind throwing them the odd meal or two in order to help them make it through another day.

History Where his tale truly begins, Eimhin doesn't know. His earliest memory is of wandering the streets, looking for food and shelter. Luckily for him, a few tramps took pity on the small boy, and looked after him as best they could. Still, they made their first priority themselves, and often Eimhin went on an empty belly while they feasted on a dinner of slightly molded rolls and the occasional meat scrap. Still, he is grateful to them for keeping him alive through his early years; he knows he would likely be dead without them.
When he was about five, he started to wander in and out of a pub near where the tramps made their 'home'. The serving girls found him adorable, and the thieves found him to be an eager student. He began to learn the basics of lock picking and pick pocketing, though much of his early bounty went to his teachers. This was also when he chose his name - before this, he'd been called 'boy'. He'd read the name - haltingly - in a book while learning to read, and liked it very much - it sounded grand. At about nine, better able to feed himself, and growing rather able with his twin daggers, Eimhin moved away from the tramps and found himself his own little spot by a small river that winds it's way through Ruse. Of course, during the summer rains, he sometimes finds his home rather wet with the rising river, but... he likes his spot very much. He's erected a rather rough shanty under one of the bridges, and most of the dregs of society have come to respect his space... but he always runs the risk of being jumped by a group while he sleeps.
On reaching his teens, he began to dabble in the art of burglary. He enjoys the challenge and the risk, getting off a little on the adrenaline rush he gets. He now makes his living almost exclusively by breaking and entering, selling his pilfered goods to various pumps around the city. Finding said pumps was difficult, but his thief friends pointed him in their direction with vague hints. As he gained status as a thief - though he is nowhere near being the best, or at the top of the pack - he began to hear rumors of the Thieves Guild. He became obsessed with the idea of it, and now spends a great deal of time trying to find those who are a part of it. He wants to join, learn their secrets... and ultimately become ruler of the Guild. This is a very large ambition for a young man, but he is certain that he can get the job done.
Relatives While Eimhin has no real family, he attributes his survival to people who became something of an extended family.
The Tramps - Poor fairies down on their luck, these souls took Eimhin in when he was a small child. They got him through the early part of his life, cared for him as best they could at a time when he could have easily died through starvation. While most of these fairies have vanished into the ether, he still sees one named simply The Rat - he gave up his true name once he was forced to live in the street. While they aren't exactly close, Eimhin will sometimes go to the older man for advice, or to share a meal.
The Thieves - Responsible for a large part of his development, he sees these men and women as the closest thing to family he'll ever have. They taught him, showed him the way of things... and he will never be able to pay them back. Without them, he would have no way to feed and clothe himself. While he is a little colder to young thieves like himself, he has great respect and good relationships with many of the older patrons of the pub that he has made his haunt.
The Serving Girls - The women who work at the pub are exempt from Eimhin's usual attempts at wooing every pretty maiden he comes across. They were the ones who introduced him to the thieves, coddled him, gave him little tokens and toys when they could. He views them sort of as surrogate mothers, and will occasionally give them presents now that he is able - only on special occasions, of course, such as their birthdays. He is fiercely protective of them as well - if any man (or woman) dares to threaten them in his presence, they will find one of his daggers at their throat.

Other
His Home
Eimhin makes his home under the bridge that crosses one of the rivers in Ruse. He has defended it well enough that most leave him alone now - it has become his territory. He has erected a little shanty that keeps him out of the wind - at least a little - and houses his belongings. He has little of those, of course, not wanting to attract the attention of his fellow thieves. He does have a few valuables, though they are more sentimental than actually worth anything.
The Pub
Called 'The Flitting Fish', the pub is near the river as well, within walking distance of his home. He stays there until fairly late at night, throwing dice with the other thieves, planning jobs that will take more than one thief, and, of course, flirting and drinking. He often eats there as well, when he can afford it. Because of his relationship with the owners and serving girls, he gets fairly steep discounts on food and drink. While he enjoys imbuing alcohol, he is careful to never get more than tipsy - being drunk on the streets is a good way to get yourself killed.
Reading, Writing, 'Rithmetic
While the thieves taught him what they knew, the serving girls - and eventually the owners of the pub - tried to get him interested in the learning arts. He could make a better life for himself that way, they reasoned, but alas, Eimhin showed little interest or ability in this area. He does not actively practice his reading or writing, using his rusty skills only when he absolutely has to. He'd rather get someone else to do it for him. He's a little better at math, but that's only practical; he needs to know figures so pumps don't screw him over.

Demon SummonsA Boy and His Demon
Dalibor is the first demon summon I'll be questing for when it comes to Eimhin. A warrior, he is fairly small for the position he holds. Resembling a pit bull in appearance, he can walk on two legs, but prefers to drop down to all fours. His mouth is a little too big for his head, giving him a fearsome appearance - said mouth is full of teeth, often bared in a snarl. He is rust-red in color, with a few black splotches over his hind end and on his muzzle. His claws are also rather long, clacking on the ground when he moves.
Not the cleverest of demons, he will become more 'street smart' as Eimhin educates him, but will never be witty. Because he is smaller than other warrior demons, he has learned to be a scrapper, much like Eimhin himself. He prefers a straight out fight rather than one using magic; he is very clumsy when it comes to that discipline. He also succumbs very easily to mental tricks played by other demons, which irritates him greatly. No, he is definitely one who wants a physical fight. He has a few abilities that help him in that arena; a hide that is almost like rock protects him, while his teeth are like iron and can sever a limb if he is so inclined.
Dalibor will not be the first demon that Eimhin summons, but he will be among the most trusted. The dog-demon agrees to the deal because he is curious about this other realm; being young, he's heard only tales, and has never been there himself. At first, he is very leery of Eimhin, not sure he likes the cheerful young man. However, as he follows the man around, he begins to respect his ability to survive no matter the obstacle, and after one particular brawl in the streets, comes to admire his prowess in battle. This deepens their relationship, and the two begin to trust one another.
Once his true form is revealed, Dalibor will be in charge of guarding Eimhin's home whenever the young man is storing valuables there that are waiting to be taken to a pump. He also has become absolutely fascinated with the varied foods this realm has to offer, and will often demand that Eimhin bring him new and tasty things to eat. Eimhin will not treat him so much as a servant, but like a trusted friend. Dalibor will likely never be dismissed, and will continue to stay with Eimhin as the young man struggles to fulfill his life's ambition.
Pride Cometh Before a Fall
The second summon I will be questing for Eimhin will not be actively quested until he is at least in the Rising stage. By this point, I hope to have a few demons for him - including Dalibor, of course. This demon will not be quested for unless I have Dalibor.
Avishag, a Lord who prefers to be called a Lady, is a proud, vain creature. Her skin is dusky, and her ears are pointed with several gold studs and an ear cuff on each. She tends to wear silks now that she can get them, draped in an elaborate toga that shows off her curves, preferring bold colors trimmed in gold. She wears several rings on each hand, and has a nose ring as well. Her eyes are gold, and seem to be perpetually slitted. She goes barefoot, but that does not at all lessen her height; she stands as tall as Eimhin even without shoes. On her back, she has three pairs of wings, the smallest on top, the largest on the bottom ((similar to the Seraphic Bow Back Mount)) - they look nice, but are incapable of flight. The feathers are a glossy black, with hints of blue in their depths.
Avishag once had great ambitions; she wanted to 'rule' over as much of the demon realm as she could without actually challenging the Queen, gathering a large force of commons and warriors under her banner. She was well on her way, and proud of the fact, when the Queen did catch wind of what was going on. Avishag was punished for her impudence and pride, and was nearly killed. She retreated back to her corner of the realm to lick her wounds, and seethe about the injustice of it all. She was now very much a leper; few demons would follow her, despite her power and intelligence. When Eimhin scryed her, and offered her a deal, she decided it would be better than her current life, and agreed. Still, she would not show him her true form for some time, thinking him unworthy of such an honor. It will only be after he proves himself that she will reveal her form and become his ally.
She is very accomplished in the field of magic, preferring 'elemental' spells over any other kind. She can summon fire balls or lightning to her hands, freeze her opponents, shatter the earth beneath their feet. She also has a few abilities in the mental category, namely the ability to sense another's emotions - useful in battle as a way to know when your opponent is on the edge of falling. However, physically, she is relatively weak, and should an opponent get in close, she will likely end up with some injuries.
Avishag and Eimhin will have a very... odd relationship. Neither one really likes the other, but they see each other as a means to an end. Eimhin knows he is more impressive with a Lord - er, Lady - at his side, and Avishag delights in having a demon horde to command again. So while they spend a good amount of time bickering in private, in public they present a united front, and would never really think about parting... at least for now.
When it comes to Dalibor, she dislikes him greatly. Because of his relationship with Eimhin, the dog-demon will often talk back to the Lady, whether she is above him in class and power or not. He balks her orders as none of Eimhin's other demons do, and will point out when he thinks she's being unreasonable. The two will likely never get along, and if they were ever together without Eimhin's orders not to fight... someone would be seriously hurt.

This is just a pretty general crit of things that conflict with the shop, or that I'd like to see expanded on. I'll probably leave further questions to others. c:
Eimhin:
I do love his character. I feel like he provides a nice view into the shop's potential character base and is quite different from those who exist/plan to exist/etc. I enjoyed his backstory and really have nothing in particular to say about it other than it's quite realistic. So I guess I'll get into the things I have questions about! :D
Reading; Where did he learn to read? You mention him reading his name for the first time in a book. I wouldn't imagine he had much time to devote to educating himself while fending for himself on the streets. Reading is pretty widespread in the setting, yes, but it is "the past", so I don't imagine it's something you pick up on. How good is he at reading and writing? (Otter loves this question too, so I'm sure she wants to know as well! XD)
Abilities; Eimhin sure seems like a charmer~! (Ahaha puns.) Anyway, like you said, I feel like maybe he has too many powerful charms for a beginner? "Smell be gone" and "walk in silence" seem fairly simple and I'll give you those easily, but "shadow cloak" and "still locked" seem mid to advanced level. I know why he would have them, as they are good skills for a thief, but maybe he could still be perfecting them. Also be aware that all charms are temporary and wear off eventually. He would have to renew them, yis. c: Ruse especially also has a fairly good guard squad, so I imagine he has some run-ins with the law. Plotsplots~
Demons:
Again, I love your concepts for the demons' characters themselves. I just need to clarify and question~
I need to put this down somewhere, but demons will never refer to themselves as "dog" or "bat" demons. It's considered an insult to them to be equated with a "lesser" animal. Though they may take on the partial appearance of an animal, they will always call themselves "demon", maybe adding their class before or after it. (Some demons don't even look like animals, so it would be especially difficult to classify those, even if it wasn't an insult. XD) I just wanted to make that clear beforehand. Nothing wrong with calling them that OOC. c:
What do you mean when you say "true form"? The demons' second and final form? (ie, all the demons that have been drawn so far are shown in their second and final form) I think you've got it right, but I wanna be sure. ovo
Finally, how close would you want Dalibor to stay to a pit bull's appearance? Do you mind a few more "monstrous" liberties with his anatomy? |D

Bwahahahaha... many run ins with the law I think. ninja Might put in there that he currently bribes one guard to ignore his little shanty. I doubt the law smiles upon street rats making themselves a nuisance like that.
When it comes to the reading... he is not so good. XD He basically knows enough to sound out street names and the like when they're written down for him. Anything more difficult, and he will usually go to one of the serving girls for help - most of them know how to read, at least a little. If that fails, he goes to the owners of the Flitting Fish; they can read anything that is likely to come his way, though they are not terribly educated people. They can also be trusted with his secrets.
And yush, I was afraid you'd say that about the charms. XD I'll separate those two out and put them in another section - 'Still Mastering' or something like that. I'll add in some more repercussions for their use that will discourage him from trying them out too often at his level.
Oooh, don't call Dalibor a dog-demon IC. Very good to know. XD I can just see it now... Eimhin calls him dog, and the demon is all like 'wtfbbqsauce' and leaves. XD
That is what I meant by true form, yush. :nods: Just using it as a way to distinguish between the generic and custom forms.
As for how close to a pit bull... as long as there's a vague resemblance, I am good. Monster him up, yo! XD
