I just found out kids are starting to have sex at 10 years old! I know this retired nurse she delivered a ten year olds baby... any thoughts? we had this discustion in class but I was wondering if anyone could come up any other ideas of how to get the idea that sex is okay at that young of age...

If I saw a pregnant 10 year old, I'd have serious concerns of them being sexually abused by someone. But with the media the way it is these days, sex is everywhere. It becomes more and more important for parents to talk to their kids about it, and a lot of parents are not comfortable with that conversation.

Well, it wasn't sex as how I remember it anyway, but there was once a case here where a 12 year old boy was nearly doing it with a 9 year old girl. As what was known, the kid told the girl that they're playing house, and his actions were influenced by the fact that he watched porn when his dad did.

Reglare Excile Well, it wasn't sex as how I remember it anyway, but there was once a case here where a 12 year old boy was nearly doing it with a 9 year old girl. As what was known, the kid told the girl that they're playing house, and his actions were influenced by the fact that he watched porn when his dad did. That's sad. And in my opinion, poor parenting. The media is really terrible for that kind of thing, but not the only reason. Parents really should be more concerned about their children's body than how awkward it would be to have the sex talk. My mom really didn't ever give me one, my oldest sister did. But, I'd have almost rather my mom have done it because iduno. it's just something I think parents should do.

It's everywhere in the media, and not enough parents stepping up to have "the talk" though embarassing, it's helpful.
I learned of sex at 5 watching Soap Operas w/ my grandmother lol Dx

I think at 10 years old, no matter how mature the child may be, they're not mentally (or financially) capable of having and raising a child. It would pretty much be like a baby sister that their mother would have to help raise.

i never heard of that. I heard maybe 12 upper. After they finished menstruation, they are getting into sex. But for a ten year old girl, it is sexually abused. I read a magazine where a 34 year old girl or something dreams about that she is sexually abused by her uncle at 3 years old. It keeps bothering her and she consulted a psychologist. It turns out to be true and her sister, too, is abused also. So, others don not wished to be involved in sex but they are sexually harassed and abused.
Maybe this helps, lol.

Personally, I'm old fashioned and I'm waiting until I'm married, so I think this is a real tragedy. I had my first sex talk from my dad in 7th grade because he had a bit too much to drink during an episode of Greys Anatomy.

im old fashioned too, but i have to agree with the points above. the situation is caused by a mix of the lack of censorship from both society, media and family.
i dont get what the big rush is about anyway. if yer gonna be 'new-fashioned' at least be smart about it.

Sometimes it's because of prior sexual abuse. Abused kids will go one way or the other and either reenact become promiscuous or have a sever aversion.
I also read this study that showed that chlorine brings an early onset of puberty. In lower income neighborhoods with a lower quality of water supply, more chlorine is used to make and keep it potable. They tested the water as well as the chlorine blood levels in kids and found it higher as well as the evidence that this confused the thyroid into beginning puberty early- breast, menstruation, body hair, voice changes- the whole bit.
It's scary. Several people in my middle school were pregnant at 12 years old. They couldn't even take care of themselves, let alone a child.
Also theres crack. It alone doesn't make people pregnant, but will make people stupid and desperate enough to do just about anything or anyone

And this is why this generation is DAMNED.
Poor parenting, drugs, sex, you name it, the end of society is fast approaching, prepare yourselves. (lololol Ike reference)
And this is why I have a profound hatred of 90% of humanity.

your telling me, anytime I hear a story of a 10 year old pregnant I seriously automatically retch. It disgusts me, it also makes me disappointed in the parents.
