Extra eyes were often a help. Anwar was very frequently pleased with himself. A youngster, small as he had been, planning ahead enough to calculate the worth of nearly drowning to acquire this set of wings... brilliant. He didn't often pat himself of the shoulder, but that one task had been very well executed.

Just as most of his plans had been. He was a schemer, his only strength seemed to lie within his skull. But that was more than enough most of the time. The young male stretched, luxuriating in the way he could move each of his paws without pain. The last trip into these territories had included some rather painful injuries, but they had, luckily, faded with time. But his memories had not. He remembered Rahen and Rana both, and full well knew consequences might arise from his...actions. Already he'd returned a pair of cubs to his harem, Star seemed fond of them already though Zarha had been cross. But that left him with even more doubts... what if this other female had had his cubs? Surely, the fact that there were now some fourteen odd little ones in his den did not negate responsibility to these others if they existed.

"Any sight?" he called up to the black shadow far above him.

Kydrimm soared high above the land, his wings dark against the noon sky. He and the young lion who'd saved his life and earned his loyalty so many months ago were out in the dangerous territories once more, looking for those they'd met before.

He hoped the angry rogue males would not make a second appearance.

"A young lioness," he called back, swooping low to flit over the lion's striped shoulder. "Her marking are...interesting...". The hawk ruffled his feathers as he settled himself on the young lion's back. Interesting indeed, there was certainly a striking resemblance. Anwar, he was unsurprised, shifted his direction to pad towards where Kyrdrimm had spotted the female. Interesting markings indeed.

If Takiyah's markings were interesting, she hadn't noticed. She lived near a modest watering hole with her mother, but there was little cause or call for admiring her reflection. This wasn't because she believed herself to be anything other than beautiful. Takiyah just didn't… care.

There were more important things than appearance to worry about.

Food. Uka. Their mother. Survival.

She was a child from Rana's second litter, Taki knew. She had never met any of those older brothers and sisters. As for her her father? There had never been anything other than a name. Rana and Uka were her family.

"Mum," the young lioness called, red eyes turned towards the clouds, "there's a bird I've never seen in the sky before."

"Oh?" Rana poked her head out of the den, and followed her daughter's gaze. There was an almost curious expression on her face. It was half-hearted. "He is a pretty thing. A hawk, I think."

Now there was a familiar voice. And the markings on the younger female just beyond the den... familiar indeed. They looked like his own. Looked like those of his mother. And those of his other children. So Rana... had carried his cubs. He'd hoped to find her when he found the ones in the demon pride, but did not know where to look. His efforts redoubled, determination to find them bringing him away from his home and growing little ones once again.

His steps were light and soft, why was it that he was always somehow the one prowling up behind someone? He did not hide his approach exactly, but by nature he could not broadcast it. "He is a hawk," he said simply as he drew nearer. "His name is Kydrimm." The young lioness was a beauty though. Dark fur, red eyes... stripes would have made it even more perfect but she was a lovely all the same. Did she already have a young male looking to steal her heart? How strange that he had not known her as he knew the others... It was another of the new odd feelings really.

"Hello Rana," the young adult added, his eyes looking for the lioness. "I am sorry it has been so long."

A hawk. A pretty thing besides. Anwar knew how to pick them for sure. The younger female was nice, but too young, Kydrimm thought, to be the one he'd wooed. Her markings matched Anwar's well enough besides, and she'd his eyes. Shifting his wings, he angled to land with a light p***k of talons on Anwar's shoulder, just shy of the mane. The mane seemed new to him, it hadn't been so long ago that the lion's scrawny shoulders had been bare. And now there was pale fluff to be in the way...

"Hello misses," he greeted politely, shuffling slightly as he did so to find a more comfortable spot. It was hard to hold on without digging his talons in, but Anwar would likely be a bit cross if he cut him.
