The tip of a screw driver tapped sharply on the metallic casing that was yet to be installed onto its unit, the young Grunt named Faleen was standing with her elbow leaned over the work bench, humming softly to herself as her eyes scanned over a large sheet of paper that was covered in intricate building plans for a machine she was in the process of assembling. The Robotics division had just gotten the parts they had needed in for one of the security turret drones, something that made the grunt extremely pleased, and right when she had come in for her shift she began to assemble the first one. She was looking forward to a long productive day Umbreon lay with his head on his paws in the far corner of the lab, his eyes closed in a light sleep, next to him was the large, furrier Absol, he seemed to be a lot more interesting it what his master was doing, his dark, expressionless stare was lingering, unmoving on her. It was almost creepy how still he was. The Grunt had her dark blond hair pulled back into a high ponytail to keep her hair from her eyes, gloves off and tossed over the unused chair sitting off to the side of the work bench. One leg crossed under the other, heavy boot tapping subconsciously along with her humming.

She wasn't her first choice. The scientist had thought about asking Mau, but she wasn't sure exactly how she was feeling about him at the moment, which was ridiculous, they were coworkers and rivals and nothing more, but still. Whenever she was around him lately she started blushing and forgetting what she was supposed to do with her limbs. So, she didn't ask him.
The other people she knew of were either the same rank as her, higher rank than her, or absent from their rooms or work stations when she came knocking. Hopefully the blond girl, Faleen, in robotics was in the labs, because Nyx was out of luck if she weren't.
There was a knock on the door to the lab Faleen was working in before someone opened it. "Hello? Oh good!" Nyx grinned. Success! She stepped into the room and let the door close behind her. There seemed to be something blue clinging to her back, but it was sleeping. "Faleen, if you aren't too busy, I need a favor."

The knock had drawn Faleen’s attention away from her work, at the same time, with one quick movement; the still gaze of the Absol has darted to the door. Wondering who it was, Faleen had straightened up to go and answer the door, when the person on the other side let themselves in. “Oh, Agent Nyx,” There was hint of surprise was in Faleen’s voice as she stiffened her posture in the presence of the Agent, not expecting the Scientist to here. Eyebrows arching when the Agent asked her a favor, she nodded and stepped forward. “Ma’am? What can I help with?” She did have a lot to do, but Faleen wasn’t one to decline a request from a higher rank.
The Grunt was rather curious, she didn’t have much to do at all with the science labs, or the Rockets who worked in them, so she was curious why Agent Nyx would be asking her for a favor, unless they broke one of their machines or something, ohh~ that would be an interesting contraption to peek around in.

"Ah yes, you see, I wanted to take a trip to Powder Hills Ski Resort, but I encountered a small obstacle in that... I do not drive." Nyx scratched her head and looked a tad embarrassed at her own request. "If you wouldn't mind... I need someone to, uh, take... me..."

Once again, a situation that was unexpected, Faleen blinked a couple of times, processing the request. "To the Ski resort?" she knew where that was.
Her first instinct told her that she really wanted to work on her robots, work came first over a holiday, but who was asking her, and for what reason did not escape the dark blond. Agent Nyx was uncomfortable asking this of her, she was a higher rank... and it did mean getting to drive. "Oh, uh, okay, I can do that, when was it that you wanted to leave?"
Did Absol just hear the word Mountains... that meant snow... oh yes, finally! did this mean getting away from this desert?

"Ah, good! In the morning is fine, if that works for you. I don't plan on staying more than a day or two." Nyx would just leave out the fact that there was no business reason she wanted to go. The agent wanted to ski, now that it was winter, but deserts were poor areas for it. Maybe they'd find something Rocket-y to do while they were in there. She wasn't worried about it, though, Nyx had some vacation time built up.

well, she had today to finish what she could at least, she would have to be sure to get to bed at a reasonable time tonight to be able to drive alert tomorrow. "Understood, is there a requited or recommended supply list?" she asked, with a slight incline of her head to the side.

"No, not really. Its Winter, so pack accordingly. Everything else we need should be there already..." Nyx looked at the machine bits that Faleen was assembling and grimaced slightly, "I'm not... keeping you from your work by asking you along, am I? I wouldn't want your boss to be upset with me for interrupting any important projects. I mean, it is the weekend, but I don't figure he really observes weekends." Not that she normally did, either, but she put in enough over time that she was getting cabin fever, and what better cure than to spend a weekend in a cabin skiing in the mountains?

"Uh, it shouldn't be a problem, Ma'am, I work most days, but I get this weekend coming up off, so it actually works out." More then likely she would have come in anyway just to work on the projects more, its what she normally did with her free time, but she wasn't going to deny this request. "I will have a vehicle signed out, and ready for you in the morning."

"Thank you, Faleen." Nyx smiled, "I'll let you get back to work, then." She opened the door and left to go pack. It was a relief that she wouldn't have to worry about Seth interrogating her about why she was stealing his staff.
The next morning, the scientist stood outside Faleen's room's door; She was ready for the trip, with one good sized roller suitcase topped with a pillow and her coat at her side. Nyx was clad in an outfit similar to the one she'd worn to the carnival, a simple sweater dress, leggings, and boots.
There was a knock on the grunt's door. Nyx wasn't sure whether Faleen would be in her room or in the garage this early in the morning, but this stop was on her way to the garage, so it was worth checking.

The door did open after a moment, and Faleen stood in the doorway to greet the smaller agent. "Good morning Agent Nyx" she greeted with a friendly smile. Faleen was, for once, not wearing her Grunt uniform, instead, she had a pare of tan cargo pants on, a plain dark t-shirt, and her usual boots underneath.
"I was just on my way to the garage, you have good timing" Leaving the door open, Faleen moves back into her room, to pick up a lightly packed backpack from the bed and slung it over her shoulder, plucking her jacket up off of the chair when she passed on her way back to the door. "I'll get you there by ten if the roads are not terrible" She said again, closing the door behind her and gesturing politely for her toward the direction of the garage.

Nyx nodded and walked with Faleen down into the garage. The rocket behind the vehicle checkout desk gave the two women the keys to a small but hardy black jeep, which Nyx eagerly loaded and buckled herself into the passenger seat. She was becoming less nervous about riding in cars, but asking her to drive one was like asking her to cut off her own arm. The agent would much rather fly.
"So, Faleen, robots, huh?"

With quite the opposite feeling about driving, Faleen happily took the keys, throwing the backpack and jacket in the back seat, the grunt wore a smile as she patted the hood of the Jeep before hopping in and made the needed adjustments to the front seat and mirrors.
Lips parting slightly in a curious look when Agent Nyx asked her a question, but at the topic she smiled brightly again her cheeks seeming to flush a little. "For as long as I could remember, they are an amazing science." she spoke, fondly. "And your science?"
The engine roared to life, a welcoming sound when Faleen turned the key, shifting it into gear and pulling out of the garage into the wide open sandy desert. "Would you mind adding the location to the GPS please." she asked

"Mm." Nyx grabbed the little rectangle device and pressed some buttons. "Oh, mine? I am a Biological Engineer, as general as that is, but I'm mostly involved with the cloning and genetics projects." Nyx shrugged and suctioned the GPS back on the dashboard.
"Return to nearest road." The tiny machine complained loudly. Nyx frowned and muted the box. "Uh, head south by south east, towards the mountains... it'll work when we're not in the middle of apparent nowhere." Nyx chuckled and sat back in her seat.

"I remember you mentioning that when I met that one clone of yours. how is that project going?"
Looking away from the sands ahead of, sparing a glance toward the GPS when it told them to get on a main road. "Well thats what I'm doing" she spoke to the electronic tool, in such a casual way. "just be ready when I get there" It was clear she did not often with machines. She shook her head and looked back out the wind shield, as Nyx gave her more a precise direction to head "South by South East, Yes Ma'am" Making a few adjustments she leaned back into her seat comfortably, running her fingers down the outside of the wheel, keeping it straight.
