Wolves. . . Long thought to be extinct, these creatures wander about, disguised as humans, attempting to live out life as best the can. Some live in the cities, hiding in the shadows of alley-ways and the smog. These wolves are generally alone, finding companionship only with the humans that rule of the cities. Some wolves wander the lands, avoiding human civilization all together. These wolves generally run together, in smaller packs. Or, they simply run alone, searching for something with out a soul at there side. Other wolves still, do not wander, nor do they live in the cities, hiding what they are. These wolves have their own territory, and stay with in its boundaries. They tend to be in slightly larger packs, who stick together no matter what.
Now you see, there are rumors of a Paradise, where wolves may truly be free. The need only to follow the scent of the lunar flower to find it. Some believe these tales, and follow the scent with out any second thoughts. Others ignore the rumors, and act as though that alluring sent is not real.
The wolves that now journey toward paradise only have one thing to cling to; hope. What they don't seem to realize is that the journey will be much harder then anything they could have imagined, and perhaps, the end will come to them with out a reason to smile. What is hidden in the shadows of the day, might come out to bite them before its all over. . . - - - -

Most nobles hide in the fortresses they call home. They are all rich, and all very powerful; most by inheritance. The Nobles tend to be beautiful people, with ugly hearts. They rarely care for much more beyond their own interests, and desires. This normally affects the people that reside in the cities that they are supposed to watch over. Their interests depend entirely on who they are, how they were raised, and where. Some want knowledge, some wish for power, a few want what they can never have, and some only wish for their people to remain safe. One in particular wants Paradise.
Some Nobles know of the existence of wolves. These few Nobles have one of two reactions toward that knowledge; curiosity, or simple fear. Those who fear the wolves seek to wipe them off the face of the earth, and quite possibly take Paradise for themselves. Those who find themselves curious about the wolves, seek only to learn about them, and know everything they can about the wolves, and Paradise.- - - -

Hone is a wolf who has lost his identity, his memory, and everything else he had. He wanders about searching for the one bit of hope he can cling to; Kitai. For one reason or another, he remembers her, and only her. He remembers the feel of her lips on his, the way she laughed, her name, her howl. . . Everything.
Above all else, he remembers her eyes, that looked as though they were made of the sky. She was the one he loved. The memories he has of her are enough to keep him going. He’s been running for a year. He runs, in no specific direction, simply looking for her. But now, a scent might lead him astray from his search. The Lunar Flower.. Will the temptation of Paradise keep him from finding his Kitai?- - - -

Hope. That is what her name means. That is what she needs. The scent of the Flower... its powerful. Its alluring. But, his scent is still fresh in her mind, driving her to the brink of insanity. Every night it plays out in her mind, over and over again. The image of what happened that day simply refuses to leave her alone... He fell, into the unforgiving sea. Never to be seen again. Or at least that’s what she believes. It took her a year to even think about moving on. That is when the scent first reached her. Reluctantly, she now follows the scent of the Lunar Flower, pushing all thoughts of Honen away from her mind.- - - -

She is the source of the intoxicating scent. She is the Lunar Flower. She was artificially created by scientists working under a Noble, who was simply fascinated with the idea of a ‘Paradise.’ She was sheltered from the world, and studied upon, even when she didn’t realize it. Finally, she ran away one rainy night, only to be found by a Noble by the name of Ryul. Though, he wasn’t your average Noble-man. He was a wolf. He took her in, and gave her a home. He now protects the Flower Maiden with every thing he is, and she knows it. She is eternally grateful to him, and is willing to lead him to Paradise.- - - -

He is a noble with a secret he dare not share; he is a wolf. A beast. He never let that fact get in the way of ruling his city, Kemma. No, he loved its people to much to let his true nature ever get in the way. He ignored his urges to run, and hunt. He ignored his need to howl. He ignored his want to be free. But sometimes, instincts are stronger than desires. One night, a scent reached him. A beautiful, intoxicating scent. It came to him, even through the rain. Everything in him screamed to run toward it, and find its source. And so, as it rained, he ran through out his city, until he found her. Hana. The Flower Maiden. He took her in, and now protects her from any possible threat. Now he is faced with the prospect of Paradise; a place where he could belong. He is finding the idea to be tempting, and is indeed thinking about leaving his beloved city, to find it. - - - -

So, if you couldn’t tell, this is based off of Wolf's Rain. Though, you will notice, that the characters in the show and manga, are not mentioned above. No. Their time is long passed, Paradise closed to them by Darcia's blood. But, Paradise is not forever destroyed. History will going to repeat itself soon enough, and a small group of wolves will run toward their fate, with out looking back. Hopefully fate will be kinder to these wolves as they search for Paradise, though that it isn’t likely. They all have choices to make, that will bring them closer to, or further from their Paradise. Some will doubt its existence to much, and fail. Some will simply refuse it for something they know exists; love.
Will a quest for Paradise tear them from love? Or will it bring them closer? Will this journey bring them happiness... Or will it bring tragedy?
Cheza, Tsume, Kiba, Hige, Blue, and Toboe never got to a true Paradise, but perhaps, we will. . .

 Well, the future wasn’t as great as we all thought it was to be. It is a bleak world filled with desolate deserts, tundra, and frozen land, though trust me, that’s not all there is. Cities are scattered about across the lands, some hidden with in large domes, others blocked off by walls The cities are normally run by Nobles, who normally play little part in the way things go. Living conditions for the citizens depend entirely on how much they earn, and where they live. Few travel about, but its not unheard of. Outside the cities there are no paved roads, only rough, barely noticeable paths that you’d rather not loose sight of. There are thick forests scattered about the land, some immense in size, some small. There are great plains, filled with flowers, and rolling hills. Ruins of ancient civilizations fall victim to nature’s vines and flowers, and only add a beauty to the scenes. These lands are beautiful, and nearly untouched by humans any more. These lands generally serve as a home to the wolves of today. Every now and then you’ll come across a happy village of humans amongst this scenery. These small communities are generally made up of friendly people, who don’t care for anything but there own world amongst the blue skies, and cheery forests. Its hard not to want to be apart of these villages, whether your human, or not.

 ❧ Romance is very encouraged here. But!! Please do your best to develop it. In all truth, love takes a while to become a reality. None of this love at first sight kind of deal. Seriously; unless a set of pre-mades are in love, every character must slowly fall into true love. It’s a strong emotion. It’s complex, and beautiful. Convey it as such. Even in the case of two pre-mades being in love – There must be progression, and time. It's that simple.❧ Cussing is allowed. I do it all the ******** time.❧ Do not post any OoC in this thread. ❧ You cannot kill off another character without the person's permission. Then both parties must let me know of the character to die and how the event will further the role-play's plot. After your character is killed, you may inquire about making another. However, you must make a case for this character and convince me that he or she will add to the story.❧ One to three characters at a time per person. This rule will stand no matter what unless we decide otherwise. ❧ As far as activity goes, we would like it if each member were to post in the OoC thread at least once a week. As well as that, it would be preferred that each person made at least one post, on average, every two weeks in the IC thread, unless they have given reason not to.❧ Please inform us if you are going to be absent for a period of time.❧ We've the right to deny a person with out justification. It's as simple as that. However, you might find yourself in a completely different area beyond the city walls, running toward the scent of the flower. Time of Day:: Late-afternoon Weather:: Its really quite chilly out, and heavy, gray clouds fill the sky, leaving no room for blue. Thunder sounds in the distance, warning you of the storm to come.  Taken from Wikipedia --&> Wolf's Rain takes place in a post-apocalyptic time when much of the world has been ecologically devastated in a form of fimbulwinter and most people live in poverty. A legend is told in the "Book of the Moon" that wolves are mystical beings who came to the world from a place called Rakuen (Paradise), at the dawn of time. In the future, wolves will find a way to return to paradise. They must first seek out the "Flower Maiden" (a being created from the essence of lunar flowers) who will guide them to paradise. This legend is nearly forgotten because wolves were thought to have been hunted to extinction nearly 200 years before. Some wolves, however, have found a way to survive by coexisting with humans and blending into society. Wolf's Rain takes place in a post-apocalyptic time when much of the world has been ecologically devastated in a form of fimbulwinter and most people live in poverty. Some wolves have survived, though, and have been coexisting with humans right under their noses. The wolves have a way of presenting themselves as being human to other humans, thus they can blend into human society with relatively little notice. The wolves travel through many obstacles and grow in one way or another. Toboe reaches maturity, Tsume wrestles with his bitter past, Hige battles with his emotions, Blue tries to choose between Quent and Hige, and Kiba struggles to protect Cheza from harm. The story folds in a violent climax where all of the wolves (besides Kiba)and Quent are slain by Darcia. Darcia is close to killing Kiba, but instead Darcia tries to open Paradise only to be rejected and obliterated by it. Kiba wanders around until he cannot walk any further. Suddenly, the ice from under him melts and he drowns as he watches the moon become ivory again - the world has started over once more. Darcia stated in Episode 27 that the world in the series was just a Paradise that someone had already opened, and that it was coming to an end. He called it an 'era coming to an end'. He said the world had to be restarted repeatedly. It is assumed that it is this way because the world can never be perfect for very long because evil will always reside in the world. By looking at it like this, you can pretty much guess what will happen next: The world then turns into a Paradise at first (it is abound with flowers and beautiful things), but it soon falls into decay like it was at the beginning of the series (Darcia's eye starts the poisoning of the Paradise, and it switches to the decayed world with Kiba and the gang). This could also be a reason why, on the first episode, Kiba is wandering through the snow and dies, just as he did in the last episode after he defeated Darcia. Because he opened Paradise before the series began, and that Paradise is the one that was coming to an end in the series. It is also important to note that in the legend, wolves were set upon the land by Mother Earth to help human beings, because humans were once lowly creatures that were prey for the demons and monsters that plagued the world at the dawn of time. Once the wolves and humans defeated the monsters, they created humanity (human society, not human beings) from a part of themselves, and taught them basically everything they know. The wolves then kept watch over the humans from afar, and didn't become involved in their affairs. It is also noted that Darcia said in one of the episodes that Quent himself used to be a wolf, but could no longer change back into one. It is debatable that this might suggest that either wolves can keep the "human" illusion for too long and never change back, or they died in the struggle to get to Paradise, and were reborn in human form after the world started over again, as it would seem happened to Kiba and the gang in the last episode
