Chaka had no particular reason to fight with the red lioness that had challenged him but he was not one to say no-- and she seemed particularly serious about it. A slight disagreement that came out of no where and really wasn't going anywhere had brought this about and so they would settle it like this. Chaka was not foolish enough to think that he had any advantage just because he was male and larger, working closely with his sister had taught him not to underestimate a lioness. He knew the best style of fighting for himself and had to assume all the others would be practiced how best suited them. But.. this was only a huntress and he let himself feel more confident because of it.
"Ready?" he called across to her, in position and waiting for her to indicate that she was ready.

For no specific or terribly logical reason, Amalahle had a problem with some of the orange lions in the pride. Perhaps she just was looking for excuses to dislike everybody but this one lion had given her reasons beyond the major color of his fur. He wasn't a very pleasant lion to be around, she'd realized, though their interactions had been quite limited and now had become very confrontational. He seemed to enjoy annoying her just because.. she found him annoying. And she was tired of it so she was happy to give a duel a go.
"Shut it and let's go," she hissed, not feeling quite as polite.

Move: Hit!
Since she was the challenger, and a less experienced dueller by virtue of her profession, it was not terribly surprising that she was so antsy and angry. After his little lesson on arrogance and temper, he figured this was just another thing on his side in the battle. With a grin and a small nod, he did as instructed and moved forward quickly. He started out just running at her, aiming to get a feel for her reaction time and style-- and if she was slow enough, perhaps get her off her feet early.

Move: Miss!
The stupid smile on his stupid face got a strong reaction from Amalahle but it cost her some time in reacting to the move he made. She barely managed to shift her weight at all before the full weight of the large lion hit her head on and she was pushed back and down, dazed. She didn't wait for completely regain composure before lashing out, pushing herself up to her feet quickly and reaching out with her claws drawn, determined to fight back but not entirely sure where she was aiming.

Move: Bide!
Chaka was surprised that his starting move had worked so well but he still managed to react quickly when they came to a stop, he pushed himself back as soon as Amalahle was on her feet again and just as she leaped for him, he jumped to the side and out of the way. He could tell by her gaze that she wasn't aiming properly when she lunged and he decided to back off and give her some time.
"Seeing stars?" he asked, chuckling.

Move: Miss!
Amalahle snarled when she hit the sand rather than her opponent and turned to face him, her vision clearing and her temper rising. She didn't bother returning any taunts, she was losing and she needed to get ahead or this wasn't going to end how she wanted. She leaned back on her legs, this time able to see her target clearly, and lunged at him again.

Move: Miss!
Chaka was ready for the next attack, not all of his efforts were focused on taunting, he was keeping an eye on the way she was moving. And she did seem to favor pouncing- she didn't seem to realize she would need to catch him in a less stable position to really knock him down. His size might not necessarily be a big advantage but keeping him upright was something the bulk was good for.
He jumped back and out of range of the attack, shifting his weight onto his own back legs to leap back at her- hoping to catch her as she landed and before she could move.

Move: Hit!
The way he leaped back and the shift in his weight was enough to give him away if she was watching- and she was. She saw him coming just in time, ducking down onto the sand and rolling over before he landed. Covered in sand and slightly dizzy from the roll, she just kept moving, hoping that the swift action would be too much- and she reared up over him as he landed by her side, biting on to anything she could reach and pulling.

Move: Bide!
Chaka landed with a thump and before he could react to Amalahle's change in position, she was on top of him. Her jaw struck his head before she got a mouthful of mane and pulled and Chaka gritted his teeth, holding back a snarl. He stood his ground but did not immediately react- she wasn't holding anything vital or tightly bound to his body and soon the hair came loose and he was able to back away.
"Finally got something," he commented, backing up a couple steps.

Move: Bide!
She felt a pain in her jaw as she latched onto Chaka's mane, knowing she had finally struck him- and not just grabbing onto the mane. She held her jaw tightly and pulled hard, stumbling back with a chunk of hair. She held onto it, eying him as he taunted her. She would have loved to be able to smack the stupid smile off his face but he was ready now, he was watching. Finally she spit out the hair, licking at her lip where some stuck but then ignoring the small irritation. She couldn't act yet, she would wait for a chance to attack.. for now, she stepped back and began to circle around him.

Move: Hit!
Chaka watched as the red lioness began to circle around him and then stepped out to follow her movements. She wasn't going to get behind him, that was a sure thing. He grit his teeth, keeping his eyes on her as they went around and around-- but nothing was happening and so, impatient, he decided it was time to try. Very suddenly, he turned himself and shifted his weight, leaping out at Amalahle and aiming to knock her over.

Move: Miss!
Amalahle couldn't make a decision fast enough once she saw Chaka change position and come flying at her- she had half a mind to brace herself and another to make a get away and she wound up stumbling and staying in the same general place she had started in. He landed on her, pushing her down by back-- and she immediately twisted around, her free front legs flailing out at him- hoping to catch him and shove him off her- growling the whole time.

Total: 11 - 8 for Chaka, Chaka wins.
Chaka was ready for a struggle and as soon as he landed, he put some weight into keeping her down-- and he just barely leaned back out of her reach, nearly stumbling entirely off of her. But he had control and this would be the end of this duel. He leaned back in and moved one of his paws to hold down one of her front legs.
"We're done, I win," he said, not leaving any room for argument. It was a fact, she could keep trying if she wanted but she'd have to convince him to unpin her.

Amalahle snarled when she missed- and again when he pinned down one of her free paws. The angle she was stuck at now, though, made it pointless in trying to use her remaining paw to get him. All that was left was to struggle free-- which she attempted but realized it would take more adrenaline or cooperation to pull this off. She snorted and relaxed, indicating that she gave in, and then she was able to shove him off of her. She shook her fur out, shot him one last glare and stormed off.
Fin!
