 It was a long day and the night had begun to roll in. The sun was peering back down on the horizon as the winter night started to run. A pair of glowing eyes wandered the area, alone.

His ears perked up slightly as he wandered the soft snowy field. His nose picked up the scent of something nearby, wandering closer to the smell.

As the ghostly Ikal approached, Shinunai noted that she certainly felt some...thing. She lifted her tattered head and looked around carefully, trying to find out what it was. She thought she could make out some sort of figure. She almost dismissed it as a trick of the mind, but there was certaily a presence. "Hello?" she said quietly, hopefully.

Ku-On continued to wander. The odd presence and stench lingering around the area. He could hear a whisper... "Hello?" he called out, his ears still up and fully working. Wondering what was going on, he approached the source of the sound.

"Ohh, I see," Shinunai mumbled to herself as the 'it' drew closer. "Some kind of ghost, huh?" Curiousity drove her to investigate, and she stepped into Ku'on's line of sight. "Umm...hi."

"Oh hell-o?" he tilted his head slightly to the undead one. It was a curious sight, somewhat reminded him of visiting his old body, now long gone.

Meeting the ghosty figure unnerved Shinunai somewhat, making her fur prickle up around her shoulders, but she was an undead herself now. Fearing such things was silly, she told herself.
She was shot for a conversational idea with a ghost, however. Especially one with a gaze that attracted her so. She stumbled around in her mind, looking somewhat frantically for something to say...and finally falling back on that old standard her parents had taught her. Introduce yourself, dummy.
"My name is Shinunai." She did have to wonder what made her think someone such as this would care, but he did seem interested in the fact that she existed, so it was worth a try.

"Ku-On." he replied to her as well. He was curious of this girl, wondering what she was up to. His head tilted slightly, wondering what she wanted.

As Shinu began to relax more, she noticed that Ku-On was giving her a questioning look. "Oh...I'm sorry to bother you, if that's what I'm doing. I've just been - (she pondered the wisdom in admitting it for a split second) - kind of lonesome...and you um...are more interesting than being alone." Ouch, did I sound as stupid as I think I just did?

Ku-On chuckled slightly and approached her, ruffling her hair. The touch colder than it looks. "Silly silly. are you sure you're ok?"

"No, I'm not sure."
Her own reply startled her somewhat, but she knew it was true. "Being a zombie all of the sudden kind of...sucks."
Then a moment of thought.
"What's it like for you, being like that?"

"Strange stuff...you're not kidding," Shinu laughed, beginning to relax. "Heck, I probably qualify." Zombies in general had never seemed a normal thing to her, and now to be one...what a switch! "May I ask how you got that way?" she inquired respectfully. "I'm still sorting out what happened to me. It happened so fast it's kind of a blur. I think I saved my friend, though. Only..." she added sadly, "I think i'm afraid to go back and find out."

"I'm not too sure mydself actually." he replied. "I last remembered...Well, I'm not too sure what I WAS before I became this." the male continued, his head shaking slightly in disbelief.
