Zia had never been satisfied with her appearance. She dieted obsessively to keep her curves under control and was always wary about how high her heels were, fearing they would push her stature too far away from 'average'. But these were December sales and she never felt regretful of these attributes when elbowing others in the crowd out of her way to attack a good sale.
Zirconia seemed to approve as well, occasionally taking over to hipcheck some woman away from a scarf just for the sake of the fun in joining in this silly ritual war that apparently took place every year.
Zia had already hit several places in the mall, shown by the various bags slung on her arms containing previous purchases, but her craving for new accessories hadn't been met yet and she was frantically sifting through the store's selection before pausing to grab a hair ribbon, careful to grip it tightly with both hands while she inspected it. 70% off in a Christmas shopping crowd was not an appropriate or safe place to dawdle.

The holidays were always a double edge for Chloe. She loved the baking and all the sales that were going on. The crowds were another thing. Obviously everyone else thought that this was the perfect time to shop as well! Sadly being the procrastinator she was, Chloe didn't think about starting her holiday shopping til that day.
She was determined to get it all done today though. There was no way that she wanted to go back to get one missed thing. Chloe would also have to make sure she kept herself in check and didn't go into the game store. That would be bad, very bad.
At the moment Chloe had gone by a few stores and only purchased one thing for her mother. Now she was looking at accessories, her favorite, when she accidentally bumped into another purple haired girl. "Oh! I'm so sorry."

Zia flashed the girl a warning glare that looked as if she was liable to savagely bite her at any minute, though she regained her composure (Just a bit, since the savagery wasn't too far off to her baseline for the day.) and, tightly holding onto her claim from the sales bin in case this was a ploy, she gave half a smile and brushed off the collision.
"It's fine," She said before stopping to admire the current way the younger girl had done up her hair today. She probably would've complimented her if some large woman hadn't tried to squeeze herself into the already crowded space between item displays, causing Zia to go back to shoving just to get some breathing room.
Somehow, someway, she had ended up caught in a current that spit her out into a more open area of the small store area. She stood on her toes, trying to see if the other girl had made it out of not and gave up after a second to rest her elbows on the checkout counter while one of the employees rang her up. Well... hopefully that other girl made it out with something in her hand for her troubles, and if she managed, Zia would have to applaud her.

What was that? This girl looked like she was going to bite her one moment and then smiled the next. She appeared to be clutching something but couldn't even see what it was. Chloe hadn't even looked around the store yet and was bumping into others.
"No prob-" Chloe was just about to reply that she was truly sorry, she didn't liked being bumped into either. Now here was a lady the shoved her way right in between the two of them. The girl was now in the corner of the store pinned between the lady and a sales bin. Sales bin! There was a wonderful purple (purple!) hairclip right on top. Well it was on sale, so buying herself something wasn't bad, right?
Chloe made her way through the people to the front. Oh! The girl the was talking to her was in line too. She tapped her on the shoulder to get her attention before she left. "Hi, sorry. Wanted to say no problem for earlier."

"There you are!" Zee said the moment she turned around and spotted the head she was looking out for. Still, she was edgy and eager to get out of the store and over to a more open place like the food court. She'd gotten her loot from the battle, but the bustle of the crowd fighting over the sale bin in late December was not a pleasant place to be.
"Yeah, same here," She said, smiling and holding out her hand out for the only greeting that came naturally to her, right up until she was bumped and almost knocked off her heels. Then she withdrew her hand and broke eye contact with Chloe to glare at the offender and try to ignore a mental urging to go get revenge.
"Hey, I'll buy you a smoothie after you pay," She offered, giving Chloe a gentle nudge with her elbow and slipping out the doors into the general mall area to take a deep breath. Allies in the pre-Christmas shopping endeavor were always welcome if Chloe could keep up, so she was genuinely hoping she'd take her up on the offer.
