Hey All! Now, I know that we're all pretty diverse and quite a few of the people in our guild are of different belief systems, but I also know we're all really generous, and mostly Santa is about giving presents, right? (I promise, I'm not trying to diss anyone's faith or argue the meaning of Christmas. Santa appears on Christmas, but Santa has always been about the giving to me, and not about baby Jesus and his belated birthday.) So, since I've seen several people show interest in it, I thought I'd get a list together and start organizing it. =D
The way a secret Santa usually works is to compile a list of names, and then to have each name distributed to someone at random. Normally you put your name in the pool and you give out a gift to someone else, but I think it would be cool if we could also nominate someone else for our gift... yes? no?
Anyways, since the year is rapidly drawing to a close, I'd like to suggest everyone who wants to do this should volunteer by the 20th and we'll hand out names to everyone on the morning of the 21st. Then we can give out the presents as we can from the 24th-26th. I'd like to suggest a price limit of 25k... I dunno how everyone else gets their gold, but it seems reasonable to me? But let me know. It's open for debate.
*Great Big Edit*
SO. Usually a secret santa stays a secret, right? So, I'd like to ask that everyone gives their gifts anonymously this year. Just mention in the description that this is a part of the SSE, and make the rest unique~ Please wait to send your gifts somewhere between December 23-25th. You guys can all open your gifts whenever you want after that. Sound fair?

Not a problem smile
I'm sure the regulars (like Mabo, Fel, and Rocket) will sign up too once they see the thread.

I would like to donate too~! It's fun and I'd like to participate. I've been wondering what to do with this saved up gold, so I might as well use it to a good cause.

Alright, I'll do it too, then.
Might as well call it a present exchange between regulars.

oh, and I nominate Shroud Kosane for a reception He's running a guild with high ideals that is basically flopping, http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/id.85455....if anyone cares (yes, the thread/subforum layout is a HUGE factor)

Hmm... so what I imagined would happen with the nominations was that, to keep the giver/receiver ratio intact, we could nominate someone else to receive in our place, or maybe give out two gifts. Which would you prefer, Mabo?

*shrug*
I had a good idea, but it was too complex
I say two sent gifts if you nominate someone, one gift otherwise. And you can't send a gift to the person that you nominated (to make it more like a true random act of kindness)
We just need to make sure we don't double up on anyone

Well, if a less complex version crops up for us unintelligent people, be sure to present it. I'm always open to good ideas.
That's how we'll do it then. I'll add him to the list.
