a couple days ago in the Chicago pop culture newspaper (Red EYE) said that there is now a script being written for a Halo movie. its being done by some guy that either wrote or directed 28 days later.

[updates to come when more info spreads]

"I say it is an awesome idea but I think it should be CG animated, and just stick with all the voice actors from the game. I just think if they do it animated it a very minor chance they'll ******** things up. Besides, then the Bungie guys could design most everything and well in general make the movie, with some outside support/ideas of course. Better than some random director who doesn't actually know Halo going and making mistakes and ruining a perfectly good thing."

I'd think that it would be ok if it were an Alien (the 70s classic to the little kids who cant get their heads out of bolling for soup and eminem) style movie if it was going to have actual actors. I see a lot of potential for this to be a great movie since its for the big screen, but at the same tome it could totally suck and ruin the series, kinda how i don't like house of the dead and resident evil cause I just remember "wow, it opened its eyes and swished its hair while it was in a room filled with water. Bungie should just stick with their animation since its alr4eady pretty decent, same with the actors. I'm just imagining Hillary Duff or Linday Lohan as the voice of Cortana and them blaming their abusive childhood for when they totally screw up the movie.

I'm with Bronze on this one. And if they could get Breaking Benjamin (the guys who sing Blow Me Away) to do the music it'll be awesome.

I say a halo movie is the worst idea in the history of mankind. neutral

Seems like the next logical step. Halo already has amazing art, amazing music (YOU KICK ARSE MARTY, I WANA HAVE YOUR BABIES!), amazing game play, amazing graphics. They might as well master the movie media too! ^_^ Though I am a tad worried about how it will be presented... if it was all computer graphics, it could look amazing, but if they make it live action... Well... That could be disappointing, especially if you see Master Chiefs face. Right now he has anonymity, and any player can imagine him being like them. But once you define his race and age to everyone it might make the game slightly less amazing.

I think its a pretty good idea. but they have to have it follow the story, or follow the books, I'd definitally like to see a movie made out of Halo:Fall of Reach

I hate to say it, but I have to agree with Shadow. It would just screw up everything about the game.

However, Eagle has a point too. As long as it's animated by Bungie and the same voice actors and everything, it might not be so bad.

And what the hell does hugging me have to do with a Halo movie? And why the hell did 7 people vote to hug me? mad

Yeah. But I don't think the Halo movie would be like that.

Ok... its a little late to reply to this, and I wish I would have sooner, back when I knew where the information was.

But a while ago when I looked up something about the Halo movie on imbd.com (the place I always go to look up movies and such), and it said that Ridley Scott, who directed the original Alien (which was the good one, the other ones extremely sucked), he also directed The Thing, Gladiator, GI Jane, Matchstick Men (what I thought was some of his most different and best work) and that one upcoming ancient epic type movie with Orlando Bloom and Liam Nissan.

Anyways they said that Ridley Scott was a possible director for the Halo movie, which I think would kick a**. We already know he can do Alien movies good, he could make it scary as s**t in the parts with the flood (those parts would probably be more like the thing), he's good with comedy and dialogue, and plot twist (Matchstick Men) and from what I've seen from the trailers of his upcoming movie, he can do action pretty good too.

And while trying to find that page again, I stumbled across the information that Uwe Boll, will be directing a Far Cry Movie, scheduled for 2006, a Hunter: The Reckoning movie, 2006, and a Bloodrayne Movie, 2005.

Other wonderful (sarcasm) movies he did were Alone in The Dark and House of The Dead. At least he's not ruining any great classic games...

Oh man! A Space Invaders Movie! Or Pong! Maybe even the epic... Pitfall...
