So, avatars based on a certain color palette. Blue and orange. Green and maroon. Black and white. Gorgeous sometimes. Other times, a hot mess.
On the other hand, there are avatars based more on a certain theme than certain colors. Whether it's a 20's screen starlet or that creepy dude down the street. Fun, not so much about the particular colors used.
So which do you prefer? An avatar based around colors, or an avatar based around a certain theme/character/whatever you'd like to call it? Which do you find easier to create? All-time favorite?
(My avi is in a hot-mess phase right now. I'm mixing items together to get a white-blue snowy wintery thing going on, and no idea what to do. Suggestions are very very welcome.)

█ I prefer a mix of theme and color Usually when I'm lazy, I'll do theme. Matching is funner, but it takes me hours sometimes xD

Matching, with a hint of theme thrown in there. When I make an avi I usually base it around one to two items.▤▥▦▧▨▩▤▥▦▧▨▩▤▥▦▧▨▩

I prefer matching colors over theme xD And if I do a theme, it has to match, I'm kinda obsessed with that. xD

I just do Avis for when I have the taste of colors. Yes, Colors have Taste. If you catch my drift.
For example on my Current.
It's based on a College Student, with a hint of Innuendo. :D

I do both. Mostly I do matching colors, but occasionally I'll do a theme. I am pretty ocd-ish with my matching/avatars so if I don't like it, even just a teeny tiny area, I will either un-equip it or not save it.
Yan: I thought you were Jack the ripper but I haven't had time to ask yet XD

I try to hint more towards a theme. But I'll almost never throw in a color that isn't somewhere else in the avatar. When doing a theme, I'm not too picky on shades.
My avatar for example: shades are pretty much all off and there's a couple things that typically wouldn't be there for solely a themed avatar.

I prefer themed avatars. Pretty much because I like making up stories about them in my head. I still like to match my colors, though, because it should still be attractive...

YanGelus i do themes most of the time but i also like matching for example i'm Jack The Ripper right now ;D you know because is Christmas time :3 I did a play based on Jack the Ripper, My character gets accused of being jack the Ripper and gets killed, But I had fun (: Got a B+. Most of the other people in my group got A's but they screwed up, forgot their lines and made everyone else screw up! [offtopicagain ; n;] Anywhos ; I prefer matching (: I might do themes once in a while~

Fabulous Dahling I prefer themed avatars. Pretty much because I like making up stories about them in my head. I still like to match my colors, though, because it should still be attractive... I love to make up stories for my avis, too. Even if know one else knows what they are, it's just more fun for me. It really helps me while creating the avatar, too.

♦ ♣ ♥ ♠
I'm a 'Color with a touch of theme' person m'self, but I don't object when I see an avatar that's purely one over the other. As long as it looks nice (or in the case of theme, I can tell what the theme is) and looks like there was more than two minutes spent on it.
Then, it's all good ;D
@Mau: Do I has a flavor?

I don't care either way as long as the outcome looks good. :} For myself, I'm stuck in the past. I lean more towards matching than theme. Er, I have been leaning a little more towards theme/expression lately. And I only kind of match general shades with those outfits. It makes me feel less obsessive. :3

єтнєяєαℓιsтιc sρєαкs ► I try to stay in color & theme, but my avis end up whatever as long as it looks nice to me.
Oh, what? It's over??
