Did you play in the last game? Share your thoughts. We wanna know what was good, what rules we should think about keeping, what could improve.

This is also where we'll talk about MVPs.

I did enjoy the last game. One of the more active ones. I think now that the rules are understood more completely another game would work well. If we didn't have that Mizu kid, or LPS getting Metakilled.

Great game, lots of fun.
I think the days should normally be that long, it worked out well.

That was a great game. I would definitely play if you ran this style of game again, provided my schedule wasn't too full. I also may use this as an incentive to track down Paper Mario. >_>

I'd suggest making the days 36 or even 48 hours if we try this style again. The End of Day time constantly changing meant that there was massive inactivity some days during the last few hours; putting it on a 12-hour interval instead of 4 hours means that you just have to figure out a time that works fairly well at both AM and PM.

I liked the post requirements. We've had plenty of games where some players rarely post, and this pretty much eliminated that. The trade-off was that we had several people who never posted anything substantial, but enforcing that would be difficult. I'm on the fence about the 'no PMing' rule though; it meant that everyone was more active in the thread, but I think there is a place for out-of-thread strategizing.

As a minor thing, I liked not having the vanilla Townie names given in the role list. The theme creators seem to be really good at coming up with exactly enough Townie names and way too many vanilla Mafia names, so scum wanting to blend in and secret roles become obvious very quickly. It was also interesting to have a game where not all of the roles were used.

We're going to need a night phase if we do it again, though. Rawk missed three nights, ILI missed a couple early on.

I think that adding a 12 hour night phase (that expires when all the roles are in or after 12 hours are reached) might be a healthy balance, but extended the day out to 36 hour days would work well too. We just have 2 day long cycles, then.

Yeah, I'm willing to have players who don't have anything substantial to say, because they can be swapped. I should have done that earlier, though. By the time Mizu came up as a lazy jerk, it was too late to swap him.

stops copies kills me

The only feedback I've got was already said; the 28-hour thing was a bit of a confusion.

Mmm..... A point worth discussion might be the terms of day over - to prevent speed lynching. If a vote majority is reached, perhaps there could be a time cushion, e.g. 6 hrs, to allow players to check in, present defenses, or change their votes.

Speed rushing is just as easy to do in a non-majority game.

The addition of a night phase, though, would allow for continued discourse while the Mods got the PMs, giving players a chance for a last defense, or at least to get their final thoughts out.

I liked the no outside discussion. I've taken advantage the freedom of discussion up until now. Without it, it really makes you form your our opinions on things and make your our decisions.

No outside discussion wasn't a problem for me! :3
I loved the Majority rule. It kept things really intense and, I think, increased activity overall. A night phase would be great, because the end of the day times were hard for me to meet. I might have won if I killed someone the first few days! XD
But honestly, this game required a lot of time and energy and it PROBABLY wasn't a good idea for me to join during the busiest time for my school life (MASSIVE PROJECT!) But I couldn't resist Paper Mario!
The post requirement was a great idea too. I get so sick of people who NEVER/rarely post throughout the entire game!
Overall, it was really fun and fresh ^__^

It was my first time playing with a voting rule like that, but it proved to be interesting especially with the bomb. I'm used to longer days and night phases, so receiving the results immediately is a nice change. But it would be more fair for the night action roles to have time to think about their actions after seeing what happens during the day.

I don't really know if longer days would solve the problem of inactive players because it'd mean more pages for them to look through. I don't mind inactive players much because it adds a little layer of difficulty while giving more chances for clues, though it is more boring.

And no outside discussion was hard, but indeed suspenseful!!

Just my thoughts, but I'd like to see this style again if day ended according to the given time if the majority vote is on a person. If the majority vote is on Night, then by all means end the day early. But this way it'll give people who are inconvenienced by the current day start/end time a chance to put up a defense before anything is finalized.

(I'll remember this... yu bastards)

I like the forced posting. Made things more active. :U Also, the time length, although really confusing, also contributed to the activity of the game, I think.

In certain games, no private messaging works very well. Such as a game where you have two mafias to one town. That way the opposing mafia factions can't work together. O: Although for the most part, forming an alliance is a strategy.

I think we previously tried incentives to play before, and I don't think that panned out well. Either that, or we got positive feedback, and just never implemented it.
