Kikimu groaned feeling horrible and filthy, she'd committed one of the ultimate acts of betrayal, and started something that was all of a sudden not seeming like such a good idea. Maybe it was Ahnik's charm, or just her subconscious ache to start a family, but before now she was completely elated.

The yellow lioness could have called herself many foul things at that moment, but a liar wasn't one of them. At the sight of Anju, she knew she'd have to explain, the sooner the better. In a favorable moment Ahnik (again, maybe he's not such a bad guy after all), gave the two some time alone.

Anju was feeling drained and angry, she spent every moment she could trying to figure out a way to escape, how to get Kiki out of here. There worst of it was they didn't have a whole lot of time to talk, and no communication meant they could not compare notes on this horrible pride. From what Anju could gather some of the females actually liked being the property the males.

She only agreed with hunting because it was enough to burn off some of the anger and frustration.

"Keek," the brown lioness greeted Kikimu, the smile melted away from her face as she saw the look on the other female's, "What's wrong?"

Kikimu's breath caught in her chest at the question, what was wrong? She'd betrayed the only lion that she couldn't afford to lose. The one other creature she loved beyond rhyme or reason. She felt yet more guilt for them being caught in this place, she had gotten them both captured, and now the guilt was welling up.

"I," and she couldn't say anymore her jaw clenched shut and she held her head low.

"What happened?" She was trying to keep her cool, taking deep breaths to not explode and lurch herself at Ahnik who was not too far away, just out of ear shot. She was going to kill him! It was obviously Ahnik who had her mate so upset.

"Kikimu, what is it?" Anju stepped closer and bobbed her head down trying to catch her mate's eyes.

"I..I only wanted to start a family, I never meant to betray," Kiki all but wailed at Anju. She wasn't doing a very good job of articulating exactly what had happened. "While you were gone, we..Ahnik and I..we." Kikimu inhaled and let it out slowly.

"I thought that we could start our family, Anju..you and I..and he could help, he did help," She teetered in place. She was feeling mixed up and confused about this, she was trying to start their family, it was a good idea at the time.

Anju sat soaking up the disjointed words of her mate, suddenly aware that all she could smell was in fact, Ahnik. She couldn't believe her ears, or her nose. Kikimu had thought it would be alright for her to...to mate with the male that kidnapped her.

"Kikimu," her jaw was clenched together, "I don't know what to say to you...I'm sorry I could never give you the family you wanted, that I can't give you cubs."

"But..but with Him? Why him? Why now?"

Why him, why him? Why him! Because even though he had captured her, taken him to a strange land, and never gave them any time to themselves. He was likeable, charming even. That was the worst part, or the best part. It wasn't like he beat them, like she'd heard rumors of.

"Because..because it was right at the time," Kikimu muttered unhappily, "We've wanted children. We-we don't even know if I will be pregnant..it wont, I promise it wont happen again." The yellow lioness' voice was strained and cracking.

She lowered her voice, "What if we ran? What if I was pregnant...and we ran? We could have them far away from here...we just need to run." Kiki looked around nervously, the other two lions were far enough away that they wouldn't here.

"Right?" Anju was baffled, angry, hurt! How could that be right? Was she trying to hurt me?

"I can't figure out how to get us out of here, Keek," she murmured, not looking at her mate, 'I can't figure it out. I'm trying to watch everything, I'm trying."

"What if you are pregnant? And we're stuck here?" She couldn't look at Kiki, couldn't admit they might have to stay in the Ukuucha'Wafalme lands.

She hadn't thought much of it through, it wasn't like Kikimu had started her day thinking, 'if only I can seduce Ahnik, everything will be alright.' The lioness had simply went on instinct, she knew there was something she wanted and she went for it. They would clear up then entire problem, she knew that! Something would give and they would be able to continue on with living with one another.

"I know we will be able to come up with a plan, and if..if not," she didn't want to think about that, but it was something that needed to be brought up, "we work things out here...Ahnik may have done something horrible by dragging us here..but he can be nice, he can be kind."

"Nice, kind! Kikimu!" Anju took a step back from her mate, not wanting to understand. "Wasn't our life enough for you? Wasn't it enough that we had one another, and adventures, like we wanted?" Tears stung at her eyes.

"He's nice, he's kind! I can't understand my ears, Kiki. I'm so..so.." She all but roared, not wanting to alert the two in the distance. If they were paying attention the body language alone would let them know that the pair was arguing.

"I hope you're not pregnant, for our sake, no matter how badly you want cubs, there could have been another way. We could have made the choice together.

The yellow and pink lioness stood looking at her mate and took a step forward, "I've always loved our life." Kikimu kept her head down, not looking at her mate, "I will always love you, and everything we do together. I wanted to make something good out of something horrible, and it was spur of the moment. I'm sorry for betraying you..but..but not sorry for...for if I have cubs...we have cubs."

Anju stepped back shaking her head.

"Don't..don't walk away from me. I - I need this to have some sort of resolve, some sort of understanding." It was forward of Kikimu, more demanding and in a tone that she'd never taken before.

"I can't Kikimu, I can't think about this, or talk about this. We're going to pretend this didn't happen, and if you start to show signs of pregnancy we'll deal with this then." She turned away from her mate, her best friend and started walking toward Ahnik.
