 Nanashi was flying, a slight smile on his face. it had been some time since he had enjoyed a flight as much as this. He rarely got to fly anymore, he was far too busy protecting his forest from this wild boar that liked to terrorize his home. He had moved dens three ties already but the creature seemed to be following his scent because he always managed to find the new den.
Sighing he shifted to make his landing on the ground. He should have just moved out of the forest, but this was the place where he had been raised and he loved it here. He could always just kill the boar, but he didn't believe in killing unnecessarily. So really, he was stuck between a rock and a hard place on the issue.
Landing on the ground, he looked around when he noticed something out of the corner of his eye. It was something gleaming off in the dense forest.

 Champagne had always liked the feel of soft moss and grass under her paws, and so she liked this new forest she had stumbled upon. As she padded along, she even sang a little tune, not paying a bit of attention to her surroundings.
Another thing Champagne, or Paige as she was often called for short, liked about this forest was there were a few patches of sunlight shining through the tree tops. When she would come to one of these patches, she'd flop down and roll around, giggling at the way her gold fur would sparkle and shine.
After a while, the tri-colored vixen began to tire. She'd been skipping around since sunrise, and being energetic took a lot of energy out of a fox. Sighing heavily, she dropped herself down in one of the sunlight patches for a quick nap.

Intrigued, Nanashi decided to investigate. It might be another shiny object to add to his collection. He did very much enjoy collecting some shiny objects, for reasons he couldn't explain the simple act seemed to be able to calm him.
Upon further inspection however he found that the shinning object was a fox, definitely something he wouldn't be able to collect. Not unless he wanted a mate. He chuckled. The fox was none other then a beautiful vixen, her coat an intermixture of gold and purple with the most curious number 3 painted on her hind. But since he wasn't looking for a mate, at least not yet, he decided that it might be best to leave the vixen alone.
But as he turned to walk off he thought of the sleeping vixen, and couldn't help the nagging feeling that something bad might happen to her while she slumbered. Smiling as he sighed softly, he resigned himself to lay by a nearby tree and wait for the vixen to wake. It would satisfy his conscious to at least wait that long.

As she napped, she dreamed. She dreamed of swimming in a vast ocean, gazing at the clouds rolling in. The clouds became dark, and Champagne began to panic. She swam towards shore, but never got closer. Lightning shot from the sky, but the lightning wasn't electric, it was Lightning Bugs. Swarms of them. They buzzed around the flailing fox, filling her nose and mouth so she couldn't breathe...
With a start, Champagne awoke, gasping for air, eyes wide as can be. She sat there for a full minute before realizing she was no longer alone. With a gasp/cry, she scrambled up the tree - backwards. Amazingly she stuck there for a second, then fell flat on her nose. Scrambling to her paws, she flattened her back against the tree, staring at the winged fox.
((mate in the works with Tenma, so this will need to be a friend rp? lol, or Nanashi could always turn Paige into a 'pet' XD -sister like status kind of, like, affectionate but not romantic, since he's obsessed with shiny)

(lol nanashi was just being nanashi....actually i was going after another phim for him so friends/sister relationship is good with me.)
Nanashi had been staring off to the side until the sparkling female began to panic. For an instant he thought that maybe they were under attack, but it appeared that she was merely having a nightmare.
He kept his distance back not wanting to frighten her further when she woke but that plan soon fail with she spotted him and tried to climb backwards into a tree. Any other day he would have found that amusing, but he was more concerned if the vixen had injured herself.
"I mean you no harm, shiny one." He offered her a warm smile, "I was just watching over you while you slept.....this is a very dangerous forest to sleep in the open."

For once, Champagne was speechless. She just stared, and stared, and staaaaaaaared at the male fox. Finally, she said something. "Who are you?" It was the shortest sentence the vixen had ever made.
Unfortunatly, her mind was whirring ninety-to-nothing. Who was he? Why was he here? What did he want with her? Why was it dangerous? And... Shiny one???

"Well....I can start off with my name....It's Nanashi.....I'm a phim, obviously." He chuckled, "And this is my home...." He looked at the trees around him.
"And as I said.....i only stopped to watch over you as you slept, shiny one.....I did not want anything bad to befall you...." He stood up, "You should not sleep in such an open area...." He gestured, then turned to walk off.
"It was a pleasure to meet you." He raised a paw.

Champagne blinked. Then her brain kicked into high gear. "Wait wait wait!" She flung herself off the tree and caught up to the winged fox. Padding alongside him, she began to ramble as her heart calmed down a bit.
"Nanashi, huh? I like that name. Very nice name! My name is Champagne, which I really like, but some foxes call me Paige. You can call me Paige if you like. I like Champagne, because from what I've heard its a sweet and sparkly drink that bubbles and makes you feel all butterfly-ish inside! Have you ever had it? I'd like to try it one day. You said this is your home? Like, the whole forest or just this area? What kind of bad things happen around here?" She stopped, caught her breath, and finished with, "And why do you call me 'shiny one'?"

Nanashi looked over at her and stalled his walking a little so that she could catch up. He smiled as he listened to her ramble on and on.....and on....and sweatdrop Damn this vixen could talk. He laughed heartily, "Paige....I like it....but i still prefer shiny one..." he smirked as he continued walking.
"Well....your coat...." He looked at it, "It reminds me of....what did that Guardian call it.....ah, gold." He smiled.
"I like gold....and anything else that sparkles....like you." He winked. "And yes...this whole forest belongs to me.....and i share it with wild boars, some mean stags....and a variety of other animals."

She froze so quickly she nearly toppled on her nose. Boars?! BOARS?!?! "Kit killing vicious life sucking foul horrid no good beasts of evil..." Champagne muttered under her breath, not even aware she had said anything. Shaking away that thought, she forced her paws to move again.
"Gold, huh? I think I've heard of that before. I never knew it was a real thing, just thought it was simply the name of a color. So you like shiny things? I like shiny things too. I like all sorts of things. I like jewelry, and bows, and ribbons, and braided things like braided necklaces and bracelets and hair clips, and I like... oh just all sorts of things!" The little vixen was bouncing with every step now, cheery as could be.
"Oh yeah! And I like that nickname, 'Shiny One'," She giggled and nodded energetically.

"Yes....that is why i decided to watch over you shiny one.....I did not want a beautiful vixen such as yourself being injured....You should mend your ways and not sleep out in fields without someone watching over you." He smiled gently, "It is best for you...."
He listened to her rant and chuckled, "Have you ever met Yavie?" He cocked his head to the side, "You two in the same place...that would be a party..." He laughed, "I am glad you like your nickname......How long are you planning to stay?"

"Yavie? Nope, but that's a really neat name! Why would it be a party? Is she fun? She sounds fun. I'm not really planning anything, I just kind of go here, and go there, and travel a lot. It's really fun! I get to meet new foxes, and see new places... I like it!" She was still bouncing happily along, cheery at meeting a new fox, just like what she said.
"So how long have you lived here? If you want me to leave it's no problem, I certainly wouldn't want strange foxes in my home. Its really pretty around here, I bet you like it here, don't you? Haha, of course you like it or you would have left!" Champagne answered her own question, and laughed at the silliness of it.
oh, I thought of a good title: feathered wings and shiny things !~ ^^

"I have lived here since i was a kit....My mother was from this area as well...." He smiled and walked with her, "And i do not mind foxes in my area.....I quite enjoy the company...." he smiled down at her, "Especially beautiful vixens such as yourself."

Champagne giggled. "I actually get called that quite a lot! I don't mind it, though, of course, I like to hear it! Heehee! Your mother lived here? What was she like? Is she still here? Wait... you said was... Oh, I'm so sorry!"

"It is alright...my mother passed many moons ago...." He rolled his shoulder back in a shrug....You do not have to fear your words around me....I do no anger easily." He smiled at her softly, "Relax shiny one.....No harm will come to you."
