I knew someone in 6th/7th grade who threw glitter on guys, then hugged them screaming "EDWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
My history teacher put the entire series and released movies on our required reading list. Also, my history teacher is a GUY.
My mom reads it. MY. MOM.
My god! Someone needs to get these people new brains!

Uhhh exactly how is a fictional story about Vampires acceptable for a HISTORY class? O_o Forget how stupid the series is that man is clearly not doing his job. He's there to teach history not prattle about which books he happens to like. That would be like a science teacher wanting their class to read "The Lord Of The Rings". Has anyone said something to him?

twilight_is_for_idiots Uhhh exactly how is a fictional story about Vampires acceptable for a HISTORY class? clearly the man wants his students to be familiar with the aspects of modern culture that eventually lead to the downfall and degradation of civilization, just before it happens. twilight_is_for_idiots That would be like a science teacher wanting their class to read "The Lord Of The Rings". I could find justification for this, really. Tolkien was a Catholic, his books can be a kinda-sorta allegory of some Christian stories, so the science teacher, in an attempt to prepare his students to argue things about secularism vs. non-secularism in science, would have his students read the books to understand the religious mindset. or something. Coyote Master Brutus Twilight is sort of like being a Democrat... ... I'll let you fill in the rest. inb4 political shitstorm!

I wouldn't read it even if it was on the required reading list. A teacher has no right to force a student to read a fictional craze if they don't like it. Especially if it has nothing to do with the course.

I'm glad that my English teacher said:"Oh, Twilight series? Naah...Not my taste and not my recommend either. I prefer Vampire Sucks." My History teacher said:"Twilight? Not even care- BORING!" And even my Literature teacher said:"Good kids don't really read Twilight." I'm so glad that my teachers have logic.
@cressilia_lvr: I hope they are kidding.

*headesk* is all I gotta say. I'd fight reading Twilight for a science class- the teacher better have a DAMN good reason why crap like that is part of the curriculum.

That actually sounds like a great project - read Breaking Dawn, and explain the scientific reasons behind why Nessie shouldn't be and how Meyer completely misunderstands reproduction, chromosomes, the digestive track, and science in general.

It is better for them to read Chesterton than Meyer. Why? Chesterton makes a ton of sense whereas Meyer only knows how to write lust stories.

When you put it in that perspective, yes, that does sound like a good project. Another good one- how Meyer can write and function without a brain.

Nyhuk-nyhuk-nyhuk-nyhuk-nyhuk. ANYWAYS. Yes. This makes no sense. Twilight is not history. Throwing glitter at people is freaky. Finding out it's in your house...I'm so sorry.
