Lily hopped out of her car all bundled up and totally freezing, to trudge through the cold snow and up to the ice rink door. She frowned at the stinging snow that was blown into her face as she pulled the door open and walked in. It was not much warmer inside, but sadly it was definitely warmer.
Sighing Lily headed for the lockers pulling of hat, gloves, scarf coat and as she reached her locker her sweatpants as well. She in a simple woolen khaki skirt with cable knit stocking and a green sweater with turtle doves on the front kissing under the mistletoe. Lily sat on the bench, folded her clothes, pulled out her skate and put her clothes in her duffel bag. She quickly slipped out of her warm winter boots, Uggs at the insistence of her sister and pulled on her skates, minus the blades, before locking her things up and a locker.
Lily quickly adorned her bladed and headed out on the ice. She wobbled for a bit, having been away from the rink for so long, but once she gained her balance and a little more assuredness she was off skating as though she had not spent months away, but she fell flat on her bottom.
Lily groaned, but picked herself up and continued on this time at a slower pace.

It was cold. It was cold as hell.
It seemed colder than usual, though she was certain her brother said that every year - the young girl, for her part, wasn't too bothered - she was nice and warn in her coat, scarf, hat, and mittens - she waved her brother off as he left for class, then walked her way toward the rink, carrying what was definitively not figure skating skates. She settled on the side to put them on, and hopped on the ice just as the red-haired girl fell flat on her a**.
Ow.
"Hey, you're okay ?" She asked, then did a double take. "Wait, you... you go to meadowview, right ? I've seen you before..."

Lily looked to the girl, who had apparently seen her fall. Her cheeks lit up pink, clashing horribly with her red hair. Even so she gave a smile and nodded before skating over to the girl. "I'm fine," she said softly, "I just started off a bit to fast. Have not been skating in months, you know."
She looked over the girl when she asked her if she attended Meadowview and nodded once more. "Yes, I am in my senior year there. I think I have seen you before too. Ah what was your name .." she said the last part mostly mumbled to herself.
She looked over the purple hair and green eyes, but the girls name did not come to her. "Sorry she said softly, but I'm afraid I cannot recall your name. What is it," she asked politely standing before the girl balanced and at ease on the ice for know. Lily may have ice skated most of her life, but she was know to fall on occasion, she was certainly not a figure skater and she never took a lesson. She learned from watching and doing and well ballet as well.

"Ah, you're one year over me." Ashley shrugged. That'll explain how they had seen, yet not known each other. This was about to change, though, if the green-eyed young lady had any say in it ! She finished lacing up her skates then hopped on the ice. She should probably have changed for this, she wasn't going to get a lot of speed with her coat on, but... she also hadn't ice-skated in months, better to just practice a bit.
Beside, it was cold as hell.
"Ashley." She offered to the redhead with a grin. "Ashley Desmond. And you'd be ?"

Lily nodded realizing with the girl's word why they did not really know each other. It seemed as though the girl was a junior, which probably meant they where the same age, because Lily was certain she was the youngest in her class.
"Ashley, is lovely name," Lily said with a smile. "I am Liliana Jacobs, but every pretty much calls me Lily, even my parents."
Lily gave a small laugh and grinned at the girl, "It isn't very easy to skate with a coat on, you know. Though I must admit even with a thick sweater it is a bit cold." Lily rubbed her arms a bit.
"Do you want to skate with me a bit? I'll freeze if I just stand here any longer."

"Ahhh." Ashley grinned again. "Nice to meet you, then, Lily ! I can't speed-skate like this, but it's just..." She did a wide movement with her arms. "Well, you know. Cold."
Trust was, Ashley had never quite stayed in place - during the short exchange in between her and Lily, she'd fidgeted constantly, not putting much distance in between her and the redhead, but still skating in small circles. "Yeah, def ! Let's go ! So, you figure-skate ? I could never do that. I fall flat on my a** if I try to jump." She laughed, looking none-too-bothered by the fact.

Speed skate huh? Lily was intrigued by the notion, she had seen it done before, but usually was distracted later by the beauty and grace of the figure skaters. She laughed lightly at the girl's exclamation and nodded, yes she did know. Winter this year had come full force and early.
She watched the antsy girl and grinned when Ashley readily excepted her offer, quickly turning and skating off. At the question Lily shook her head with a small smile. "No, I just skate. I love to ice skate and it was the one things I refused to let me parents get me lessons in. I can do a few jumps and turns and things like that, but I am no figure skater."
Lily looked to the girl and grinned brightly, "That and my brother usually comes with me. I spend a lot of time trying to keep him on his feet. I think he has two left ones."

"Oh, I see. Im not part of a team or anything, myself. Not anymore, I was in a class when I was younger but we just kinda drifted apart ?" She shrugged, not looking too upset. These kind of things happened, no big deal.
She laughed at her mention of her brother, loud and clear, easily falling into 'step' with the redhead. "My brother just sits in front of his computer all day." She made a face. How could someone do that and not go insane ?

Lily nodded, "those things do happen, but not when you have my parents. I think I had more lessons as a child than I have fingers and toes. I am not complainig the were enjoyable and I stuck with some of them till this day, but most I drifted away."
Lily's smile was bright even though Ashley was laughing at her brother. She was skating easily even though she had been away for so long. There was just something really nice about having someone to skate with. It reminded her of the last two times she had been to the rink. Where she had met Fallon and Rose.
"I wish my brother sat in front of a computer more often, then I would be able to drag him out for more fun times. He works so much with trying to finish his degree, I rarely get to see him." That wasn't entirely the truth fore her brother was a great source of help to her when she was doing senshi things, but even then they still did not see much of each other.
Lily did a twirl on the ice, her skirt flying up slightly from the quick motion. She gave a smile at Ashley and skated off once more. "Catch me if you can," she said skating toward the center of the rink, around a few other skating teens. She wasn't usually one for spur of the moment things, but skating always put her in a good mood.

"Yeah, I know the feeling... he goes to DCU, so he studies alot." Still, spending most of the day sitting ? Impossible. Undefinable. Unthinkable.
At least for Ashley, it was.
That sounded ridiculously like a challenge. How could Ashley ever resist a challenge ? And so, she darted right after Lily, showing exactly why she had once been part of a speed-skating team - she was pretty damn smart on those skates.
She was purposely giving the other girl a chance, though. It wouldn't be fun if she just caught Lily early !

Lily gave a small eep seeing Ashley closing the distance between them. She tried to skate a bit faster, but if she fell she would be caught out right so she did not skate too much faster.
Lily weaved around a couple who were ridiculous close in the attempt to skate and she was certain they would both go down rather soon, as they seemed unbalanced. As a matter of fact she was certain they would fall once Ashley passed them.
Lily laughed once more trying to keep a glide or two away from Ashley, but the girl was a speed skater and it was only a matter of time before she was caught. She hoped that if the other girl wanted Lily to catch her that she actually made it possible for Lily to do so.
Lily wasn't really paying attention and she nearly glided right into the rink wall. A sharp right just saved her, but boy had it slowed her down.

Sure enough, the poor couple held no chance against Huriccane Ashley - down they both went, and the woman started ranting about 'these damn kids these days !'
Ashley could only laugh. In the back of her mind, the Jaws theme was blasting at full speed, as she closed in the distance more and more.
Dun Dun.... Dun Dun Dun Dun...
The fatal mistake in Lily's escape was her near hit of the wall. It was all the opportunity that Ashley needed, and a few quicker strokes had her touching the girl's shoulders.
A little late, since she hadn't actually fell - this was obviously meant to be a catch. "Not bad." She commented with a grin. "Everything's okay there ? You didn't hit that ?" That had been a little hard to see at her angle.

"Darn," said Lily at being caught, but she was grinning and obviouly not at all upset. She laughed lightly at Ashley's question and shook her head, "I am fine, did not even hit me. It was a bit of a surprise, however, that the wall almost got me before you do."
Lily gave another twirl on the ice and started skating backwards, hands clasped behind her back. "That's what happens when you aren't paying attention, much like that poor couple. The really should not have been so close. I bet they were trying to kiss which isn't something I would recommend blading across slippery ice."
The notion probably would have been funnier if Lily had not have said it so matter of factly. She shook her head and made to turn around, but managed to trip ...

"Of course, the old coot seems convinced it's all my fault." Ashley made slow, wide strokes, just enough to be able to follow her newfound friend. She knew the woman was glaring at her from the other side of the rink. She didn't care.
When Lily tripped, she laughed. It wasn't a mean, mocking laugh, but she wasn't able to stop herself before it came out. Ashley had yet to trip, but the fact that she skated pretty much year-round probably helped, and she offered her hand for Lily to take.

Lily shook her head slightly, it was partly Ashley's fault, though it was mostly the couples own fault. She gave a small laugh and grabbed the offered hand, not wanting to trip again.
"Guess I should not have taken such a long break from the ice. At this rate my brother will be able to say I am the one with two left feet. Oh how dreadful that would be," said Lily laughing bright smile on her face.
She looked out over the ice for a few moment watching the other skaters. One in particular was wearing a leotard and tights which made Lily shiver. She knew the girl had to be very cold, even moving as she was leaping, spinning and turning about. She looked to Ashley again.
"You know I think it might be nice to be able to do that, maybe even perform, but I do not want this," she waved her free hand about, "to seem like work. Ballet can get that way sometimes, you know?"
