Eira was unusually excited, she had been waiting to meet her friend who still laid in his basket. Eira ha a tong feeling today was the day. She ran as fast as she could to the place where Nightling might be, hoping that he would be out of his basket.

As she ran she thought of what kind of colt he would be, but no matter how she thought about it she knew they would be friends. She felt like she was flying barely touching her hooves to the ground. She wished she ha wings, but she was very fast on land which made up for it.

Finally she came to the small clearing where she though they would be. She walked calmly towards Nightling she smiling from ear-to-ear. "Is he here? Is he finally here?", she asked. She didn't see the colt or the basket so she wondered if he was hiding(if he was out). She bounced a little splashing a little blood from her hooves to the surrounding grass, but continued to smile at the mare, almost unable to contain herself.

It had seemed like the most uneventful day when she had awaken that morning. The cave was quiet but the sounds of her mate and sleeping children. The ones that still housed themselves in their woven enclosures. Taking hold of a binding that was wrapped about the lighter of the two. She pulled the basket from the cave and headed downwards towards the forest below. Once there she headed for a warmer clearing then the cold shadowed forest. Stopping a moment Nightling looked around the clearing, finding that it would do well. Lowering her head she started to graze. The patter of small hooves caught her ears as she lifted her head and looked around.

Something came flying towards her, and it seemed rather happy to see her. Blinking a couple of times, Nightling smiled down at Eira. A cute filly she had met some time ago while out and about. Nightling remembered that Eira had had a strange fondness for the basket that held her young son. But the fondness was for friendship at the very least. "Good morning Eira. And no, he hasn't come yet. hopefully he will be awakening soon." She looked back towards where she had left the basket... Now it seemed in shambled... How did she miss that?

Finally, he was free from his enclosure. Pale peach colored eyes watched the darker mare and other from his newly found hiding place. Equally pale tail flicked behind him as his bright-ish green coat let him blend in just a bit. Gaze flicking from one to the other, he watched the mare walk over towards what was left of his enclosure. When he had escaped, the basket had been left in ruins. He wasn't overly sure who these two were, well he knew one. One was his mother and it certainly wasn't the small one with blood on her hooves. So the darker mare was mother, the other he knew vaguely. He did remember her voice from within his enclosure. But for whatever reason he didn't remember her name. Probably missed that bit. Poking his head from the bush, the colt slowly walked over towards the two, ears falling back a little. Shyly at first, but he crept closer to the mare, watching the filly that looked about his age.

"Hello?" his trembling, unused voice gave an uncertain tone watching Eira. Head tilting to one side a little, trying to remember things from his young memory.

Eira looked to the mare an gave a slight frown, but it then turned to confusion as they both saw that the basket was in shambles an the colt was no where to be seen. Eira looked and sniffed the air to see if she could find out where he went.

It was then she turned her head at a small sound and she saw the colt. He was bright green with light mane and tail with eyes to match. She could tell if was nervous, but a little curious. Eira turned and smiled at Night, "He's cute, congratulations, Momma Night", she said with a little humor.

She then turned back to the colt as he was closer and spoke shyly. "Hi, Im Eira. Now we can play together!", she smiled warmly at him. "What's his name Momma Night?", she asked with a kind and less hyper tone. She then took a few steps closer to him and smiled at him and sat on the ground, hoping he would remember her voice from his basket days.

Nightling looked down upon the foal that had come from the basket only moments ago. She noted his green color and wondered from where it had come from, but then again her own brother was an unknown green combination himself. Lowering her head she nuzzled the colt before pushing him towards Eira. Though he didn't seem to want to budge at the moment. "Thank you Eira. As for a name, I don't know. I have been pondering names, my mate named our other son Sixx. I think this little fellow shall be named Nahele. Meaning Grove of trees." Her head tilted to one side. "His markings do bear a striking resemblance to the black silhouettes of tree branches." Again the colt stood close to her, and again she pushed him towards Eira. "Go play, she has been waiting for you."

The colt, now named Nahele looked to his mother before glancing back to the filly who was very excited about his arrival. Pale eyes blinking a couple times, he was still a little unsteady upon his hooves, but growing stronger all the same. Now he was twice pushed towards the filly, Eira she had been called. The second time hos nose met the ground as she looker up at her, well not before noticing she had blood on her hooves. "Um... You know your hooves are dirty right?" he looked up now, slowly pulling himself off the ground and shook the grass from his tail. "Eira... I... I remember. You, it was you outside my basket that one time. Wasn't it?" Now that his memory was jogged and he could remember the voice that had spoken to him.

Eira smiled at Nightling Mama and then back to Nahele. "The name suits him, it does!", she finally started to calm as he was nudged towards her. She looked down to hooves and gave a small, almost embarrassed laugh. "Haha....ya they tend to get that way. I can't seem to keep them clean."

She forgot about her seemingly bleeding hooves when he spoke her name in remembrance. She beamed a brilliant smile and affectionately and playfully nudged his cheek as she did to his basket in earlier days. "Yep that was me! Im glad you remember me. It'll be nice to have someone to play with." She then suddenly jumped back and bowed her head in an official greeting. It's a pleasure to finally meet you Nahele. I hope we become long time friends.", she smiled at him and Nightling feeling sheer joy.

Nightling watched the two as they started to converse. For now she was just going to let the two be. Lowering her head she started grazing once again, though her ears were ever alert and she wasn't about to turn her back to the small ones. No matter how calm the surroundings there was always something. "You two be careful now."

Nahele watching Eira a moment as she nudged his cheek. Blinking a couple of times, he smiled and jumped forwards as she jumped back. Though he crouched a little as he did, head tilted upwards. "I imagine we shall be best friends. We did have that agreement. Did we not, Eira?" he straightened head still tilting to one side as his tail flicked behind him. Though some how, deep down, there was this unknown feeling that their friendship might blossom into something more. But for now, that feeling was a mere distant tingle he couldn't grasp. Pouncing closer until his face was just about to her, he smiled. "So what should we play?"

Eira nodded to Nightling, "No worries Night mama, he's safe with me." she smiled and looked back to Nahele and nodded to him, they had an agreement! She straighted long and tall as she pondered what to play. "Hmm...how about....Tag! Your it!", she pounced forward and nudged him slightly and gave a sly grin as she bound off for him to follow.

She already felt a close bond with the young colt and she knew they'd have adventures together. Their friendship could bloom to something more, but what that was they are still a little young to know. Eira knew they'd have each others back, she'd protect him, maybe even teach him to hunt, or at least fish. She stuck her tongue out at him as he chased her as she ran around Nightling, using her as a sort of shield. "Can't catch me!", she taunted sticking her tongue out again.

Nahele blinked a moment as he was tagged, shaking that pale mane of his. He dashed after Eira snaking his way beneath his mother to try and get at her. Bright hooves trampled grass beneath him, he wasn't about to let her go. "Come back here!" though it wasn't a shout, Nahele's voice was certainly loud enough. Coming up mostly behind Eira, she was sure to have seen him in the very least. Being that stealth wasn't his thing at the moment after escaping his basket and all. "I'm going to get you Eira. You can't escape me." Coming up upon her, Nahele stretched out his neck to tag Eira.

"Tags to you." Putting on the brakes and wheeling around he headed back to the other side of the clearing. Hopelessly out of his mother's sight and into the trees were none could really see him. Even if his coloring was bright and very colorful.
