((Either or's fine with me for who he meets whee )) Silence enveloped part of the lands of Telk. Winter did that, of course. Amid the trees by a frozen pond, a wolf lounged in the snow. It didn't bother him much, but this was far wetter snow than he was used to. His silver-fringed head shook a bit as he attempted to get snow off his fur, snorting a bit at it. "Wet snow... Snow HAS to be wet in south..." A slight frown came to the blue part of his face, which took up most of his muzzle. "Would go to warm place if there is no wet snow..." He shifted, then stood up, shaking more snow from his dark coat.

"Drat!" Kouji cursed, staring down the rabbit hole, where his attempted prey managed to elude his jaws.
With a snort the blue male, soon to be alpha, turned away from the failed query and headed off, ambling in the direction of North-West. He wanted to avoid the lake because of the human settlements scattered far and wide along it's border, but there WAS a river to the West of it that he could perhaps have some luck hunting. Animals did still grow thirsty, maybe he'd come upon some herd-beast making a foolhardy early trek back North.
Somewhere off to his left he detected the sounds of another, and would not have stopped except for the voice tugging in his mind. Maybe he could find another member for their cause... It sounded like this wolf rather detested the snow, so he'd surely be interested in someplace where there was none?
"Pardon me," He wuffed politely, still a good distance away that he wouldn't startle the other, hopefully. "I couldn't help but overhear. My name is Kouji. You're from further North I would assume? Might I ask your name?"

Ears flicking in the direction of the other wolf, Leidolf turned and looked over, golden eyes spying the speaker. To him, this wolf had the air of a leader, born and raised. Someone to look up to, someone to follow. He also had a very different scent to him than other wolves around these parts. Leidolf had been told that a wolf's scent could tell the story of their life, and if he was smelling right, Kouji smelled of warmer, more leaf-lush lands.
With a nod, he approached slowly. "Yes, I am from farther north. Snow is dry up there." He stopped a short distance away, maybe two or three wolf body lengths apart. "My name is Leidolf. It is nice to meet you, Kouji."

"And you as well, my friend." Kouji ducked his head a bit, leaving it so and swiveling his ears towards Leidolf attentively. "I come from the far North-East, myself. We've no snow there at all and I have to admit... While it's a lovely sight to see and great fun, it's also rather cold, especially with my thin coat. Might I ask what finds you so far South?"

The dark wolf shrugged just a bit. "Pack was getting too big for territory, so a few members got chased out. I wanted to see lands, as well, so came south." Gold eyes glanced at the sky as a flake landed on Leidolf's nose. "Out of wet snow I would like to get, though... Even to warmer place." He glanced at his coat. "As fluffy as coat is and as warm as it might be..."
