مقدمة Preface The war has raged for four years.
In the city of Acre in the Holy Lands, where you reside, general unrest plagues the population. Those Muslims and Jews who walk the streets during the day must do so in fear;at night, the Christians are equally targeted. Disputes between ownership of the city between Austria, France and England are also grounds for rocky relationships. Factions of soldiers skulk in alleyways, looking for trouble-makers, and oftentimes harassing the Arabian women.
For you Christians, it is only a matter of time until the thread snaps.
For you Muslims, it is only a matter of time until your patience runs out.
For the governor, it is only a question of whom will try to kill him first.
But for the Shadow Brotherhood, it is only a question of when, how, and whom...

مؤامرة Plot It is the Third Crusade, year 1191.
Christians are simply trying to wait out their lives in peace in the city, although that is a rare thing. The original inhabitants, although mostly starved or killed off from the siege that took the city, are wary and unfriendly towards you. There is government dispute as well--you, as an Englishman, Austrian, or French citizen, cannot always trust anyone of a different nationality.
Muslims are trying to live. Their mosques have been either suppressed or diverted to other purposes. Tensions are high, and patience with the intruders--murderers, at that--is low. You are simply waiting for Saladin to come and liberate the city.
Those in power--the Governor--are trying to maintain order and some semblance of peace.
And the Shadow Brotherhood, the assassins who are really in charge of the city, are biding their time. They aid and abet Saladin--who does not approve of their methods--in any way they can. Their current task: Assassinate the Governor of Acre.
Who knows what will happen? Who will live? Who will die? Will someone find love?

الإعداد Setting Year 1191. Third Crusade. City: Acre in English, Akko naturally.
The Roleplay will take place throughout the city, and in military camps outside, if need be.
Those in the Brotherhood will live in Akko. The Governor inhabits the Palace, a residence in the finest section of the city. Soldiers will also be stationed there, or in the nearby Garrison.
Saladin is in the city, though only in disguise, unless invited to 'negotiations', in which case, he will stay in the Palace as well (Since it is technically enemy territory, but his own people are quite friendly to him). And 'in disguise' really isn't much of a statement--Europeans don't recognize him, and those who do are loyal to him. He merely has to hide his insignia, though he chooses quite often to not show it unless he has cause to, anyway.
Akko is right on a harbor. As a result, there is some vegetation, and plenty of water. Too far outside the city, however, is the desert. As a result, it is not advisable to leave the city unprepared.

قواعد Rules o1. No Godmodding. Whatsoever. And No cybering. Ew.
o2. This is a semi-historical roleplay. While based on real events, after the premise, it does not have to follow real events. That being said, no magic, no out of place persons, no Japanese Samurai in the middle of a battlefield or kitsunes or the like. I will not accept profiles that have such.
o3. Please, God, no Mary Sues or Gary Stus. I've seen far too many profiles that include the phrase "parents were killed", "Tortured", "abandoned", "adopted", "orphaned", "parents hate them", etc. Originality, please.
o4. No killing other characters off. I know this is kind of difficult, given that this is a roleplay about war, but unless you receive EXPRESS permission from the other person allowing you to do fatal, physical harm to their character, I will go all NERERHEWIOHFSFDOSHDOF on you.
o5. Please be semi literate, or fully literate. No text talk, and no 1337 s|>3@k. At least 4-5 sentences a post. This is the most important rule.

I am {22} years old, {Female}, and was born in {Akko}. I am {French}, and therefore, {Christian by upbringing, but largely apathetic to religion in general}.
Despite what you may think, that doesn't tell you everything about me! I am also {A bit unruly. I despise being owned, and since marriage entails that, I was quick to ensure I was not ensnared in that trap. I'm not the best at acting. But I am fairly good at conversation and gleaning information.}.
In my past, I {was a young, proper lady of society. Until I arrived here. I could say something horribly romantic; I ran away from a terrible marriage and joined the Crusades, masquerading as a man, and found my true love here! But that would be dressing up the truth and lying in other places. No--I was married at the age of eighteen to a nobleman. Expected to bear children for him, I secretly hoarded the knowledge that I was barren and lead him to believe that he was the barren one, not myself. Forced to join him as a camp-wife in the Crusaders camp, when he fell in battle, I stole his armor and snuck away to the city, masquerading as a soldier. Here, I have taken the name Christian and I serve Hans Leopold--the Captain of the Guard-- and the Governor. Hans knows of my true identity. I thank God that he has not betrayed me}.
I enjoy {books, quiet, and exotic things}, but despise {idiots, cocky men, and blind dogma}, and excel at {conversation, saying the right things, keeping a low profile}, but am not very good at {acting, breathing when greatly stressed, or thinking things through--I act on instinct}.
